Hi I'm Teddy Wrinkle,
I have noticed an increase in crime and robberies on our great Island. I would like the Government to invest in CCTV so that criminals who circumvent the law be brought to justice when only video evidence is available. Ideally what I am looking to achieve here is two things, one a reduction in needless crime i.e. someone looses their life due to a minor scratch on an overly aggressive persons car or your standard sociopath who takes pleasure in committing crime and attacking others for what I can only presume is the lols (they may well RP but they can never do this well).
I am proposing that should someone attack another with a blunt weapon a warrant for ABH be added to the PNC, a bladed weapon would be GBH where in both instanced the victim is not mortally wounded. should the attacker use any variety of gun they would have either attempted or murder placed on the PNC. Any armed / unarmed robberies of buildings would add a burglary charge. My suggestion here is to make criminals think twice about their actions and not rely on an overly stretched police force not witnessing / attending their crimes. No crime should go unpunished.
Secondly I would like tougher sentences to those who break the law, any violent crime without mitigating factors I feel should lead to a prison sentence should the criminal be caught. I have seen in other city's the use of community service where criminals can opt to pick up litter to reduce their sentence, ideally if this can be brought in to our Island I feel it has a place. Should someone be a general nuisance the police would be able to lock them into a few months litter picking while the community at large can provide some humour at the individuals expense.
In short, better awareness of crimes that have taken place with the help of video evidence and harsher punishments when someone is caught up to and including the use of perm prison time for the most serious offenders.
