Is it just me or is anyone else sick of the atrocious RP preformed by the police of our fine server? 

Im sure others have had the same issue because this isn't just a single event im speaking about, many a time playing as a rebel have i come across cops who taze first and pretend to RP after and it always ends the same, outrageous ticket/jail/told to cry on forums. This isnt how a RP server should have its Law Enforcement act. 

The other day i was strolling through Kalava just after spawning with only rebel outfit on (head gear/weapon in backpack) and i got tazed out of the blue, when i get up, restrained, and am already being searched i ask what the deal is? All i get is a "your suspicious uniform gives cause for these actions"..really?? what the fuck? i was going to the market for chow man who the hell was i causing trouble to? They take my weapon, jail my ass with a 10k bail that i cant pay (price not bad, why the fuck cant i pay it?) I txt the cops and ask where was there any RP? where was my warning/questioning/blah blah blah, what the fuck is the point of having all the Cop rules if they dont need to follow them.

And no, i dont record every moment of all my game play so when this random bullshit happens i have no proof, and trying to report a cop to admin is like telling God that Jesus fucked up, you dont get anything done and just highlight yourself to be trolled by cops more.

Its a shame cuz i really like this server and most of the people on it. But this bullshit needs to end, its not how the game should be played. Further crap that needs to be addressed and enforced is the fucking tazers. Semi-Auto, one shot incapacitate in a legit shootout is a ridiculous advantage. And being told to "be a better shot" makes me want to say fuck all to the new life rule (which cops also dont abide by) and just be a cop hunter.  

Im not looking for retribution or compensation but admin needs to step up their game and actually police the cops to make sure not just us lowly people are following the rules

 
Honestly mate, you're right to complain.

Because one, rebel clothes are not a reason to stop anyone, nevermind arrest them and take them into custody. Obviously, I can't speak for the guy that did this, but perhaps there was a chance he was a new PCSO, in training - sometimes it can be stupid but even civs/rebels have to respect and deal with it.

Also, the tazer is being fixed by a member of the force, and I also have the finished code in my possesion, so it's got that far atleast.

Hope this explains most of the stuff you're on about.

 
The other day I was selling Iron in Civilian clothing with my Mohawk, reported a robber in the area who attempted to rob me before , police arrived on scene instantly tazed ME 2 seconds later impounded my Mohawk ( with a silenced MXM RCO Scope inside ) restrained me and then FINALLY started talking too me.

And after all that, I still didn't get a compensation ^_^

 
Yeah, and yesterday i got randomly put in jail in kavala. I asked the officer and he told me that another officer told him to put me into jail. He didn't even know why either.

I'm sorry mate but I disagree with your views..

If a rebel wants to go into a town without being detected as a rebel he should buy civilian clothing, rebels are a rebellion against the government they should not be aloud to walk around in a civilian town in rebel gear so therefor police should be suspicious about them. I know that it's against our procedures but I think it's a wrong way to look at things seeing as rebels kill civs/cops everyday so why should they be aloud to walk around in rebel gear without a care..

next time get the name of the Police officer that did this to u and take it to his superior on ts3 or name and shame him on the forums, a general "i think cops suck dick" post on the forums will do nothing to improve the situation 

 
you guys have to teach your cops i was getting shot in kavala the cops was 1km away soo i went to them to tell them then that cop come up to me and he's like get back in your car sir i told him i got shot he was threating me wtf is wrong with your cops and the cop name was pc bradly (pto)

 
Right.

First up, it's a bad idea to tell the admins to 'step up your game' - because we're likely to find that rather insulting, given the hours we put in, and the fact that there is now three times the admin force that there used to be (albeit spread over two servers at some points).

On to the actual case, I agree it's poor - for the specific reasons:

1 - there was no warning verbally of an imminent tase

2 - there was no opportunity given for the suspect to comply willingly (i.e, stand still)

3 - the search happened without warning or without permission being asked (even though this is not a legal requirement if there is probable cause, it's usual practice if RPed properly)

I'm not going to agree with the tase-spam accusation; for the simple reason that it is a fuck-ton of work to attempt to recode the taser weapons to make them workably 'one-shot' and I haven't time or inclination - this is supposed to be 2035, after all, so maybe by then, multishot automatic tasers are the norm. In practical terms, the cops ARE going to be forced to use a maximum 16 round clip in the near future, and they are TRAINED to not tase-spam, but evidently, some of them lose it in the heat of the moment and this is kinda to be expected.

It must be said that sometimes rebels - and civs - loose it in the heat of the moment too (mostly by cussing out everybody from cops to admins and god and jesus... ahem). ;) We just turn the other cheek...

Flipside: Your failz consisted of:

Spawning in Kavala in rebel gear. Frankly, you couldn't BE more obvious and interesting to police unless you'd spawned in a fricking Jimmy Savile suit outside the playground! Pick a quieter town maybe?

OK the fact that your weapon was hidden was a plus point, but trotting around the city centre in a Ghilli Suit or Chewbacca outfit is kinda like waving 'Cooo-eee, I'm a rebel, me... I'm *bound* to have something worth investigating, come on, chase-me, chase-me' at the cops. Google for the word 'subtle' and you won't find military clothing in urban town centres there, I'll bet.

Your second fail was not getting the name of the cop who rousted you. Without that, we admins (or the Police Complaints Commission, whose job it *actually* is to deal with cop behaviour) cannot kick his arse into the middle of next week, and ensure that he is retrained or put on a lead and forced to walk around with a more senior buddy officer who can be responsible for his behaviour until he is potty-trained. Believe it or not we (admins and senior cops/PCC) do take it VERY seriously - but you have to give people something to go on. Random 'I got biatched by a nameless cop one fine day in the middle of Kavala whilst wearing my camouflage skirt and bonnet on my way to church' whines don't help ONE JOT (especially if they take the opportunity to diss the admins and whine and cuss about loads of other game mechanics while you're at it).

It's a two way street. You want respect and to be taken seriously? Show some respect and seriousness, and action will be taken. In this particular instance, who do you want us to take action against? What opportunity for repair or improvement have you *actually* given us? I ask that in all seriousness, and with the utmost respect...what have you actually achieved by this post?

Same goes for all the other old ladies joining in at this laundrette discussion: "Well, I know... I mean to say, I saw her next door walking down the street the other day, got run over by a cop she did. Not a word of apology"..."Yes, I know, terrible isn't it? I was saying to Mildred only last Thursday that this place has gone to the dogs. The cops are like animals. My sister Elsie slept with one a month ago, but did that get her off a parking ticket? Not on your Nelly. No, the cops - and admins - are all utter slackers on here, I mean, what do we pay our taxes for? It's a disgrace? I shall complain to my MP/Vicar/God/brickwall..."

In a nutshell - and I'm fully aware this is the 'General Discussion' forum, not the 'Problem Reports' forum - but that doesn't mean that you should jump on someone else's thread and just lower the tone and have a general whine. Do something proactive. Take names. Take videos or screenies if you can. Not essential, but helpful. Most of all, understand that this is a gameserver, and as such, not everybody is 100% the most efficient, fully-trained, tip-top-perfect roleplayer that has ever lived, and that they may be newcomers, or quite fresh still, or have fallen into bad ways. That goes for ALL classes - cop, civ, rebel, the lot. If people have RPed poorly, be CONSTRUCTIVE. Make reports that will help the admins and other people actually take RELEVANT ACTION to correct the situations. If that means naming and shaming, so be it - just do it in a polite, constructive manner, rather than starting a fuck-fest and a hate campaign.

Most of the cops on this server take their role very seriously and professionally, and would NOT single out someone who complained in a polite and practical way, for further trolling or abuse. Quite the opposite, usually. But people do sometimes reap what they sow, if they are simply whining and groaning or being negative and unhelpful. Like I said, it's a two-way street. Help us to help you, and it'll go a long way to improving things for everyone. Whine and cuss, and you'll just inspire more of the same...

Sgt Jake, i know its not force wide and i have had a great deal of good interactions with the cops and feel that many situations have be handled as realistically as possible so on that, good on you guys, its never when things are done right that people appreciate it but have no issue and those one or few times people complain so i understand its two sided.

TinyBig, hey man i meant no offence towards admin, i know yall have your hands full not only monitoring the game play and peoples actions but dealing with game mechanics as well, so if it was taken in a rude manner i do apologies. All i meant when i brought the admins into my comments was i believe that a more baseline view on both factions. It seems like cops get favor on their standing due to the obvious selections and training they have to endure to receive their position.

I agree with both TinyBig and PSO Shadow that suspicious attire should be investigated by police, i have no doubts that if they didnt they would be ignoring their role. But in an RP scenario one could justify or talk ones way out of the treatment and overall loss of weapons/time/money that i dealt with. Im not saying the situation would have ended with me walking away scott free, but i may have received a ticket, warning, got run out of town or something of the sort, rather than my experience.

As far as my response to you SPC Harry, thats the kind of attitude i honestly expect from the kind of cops i dealt with. No im not "mad bro" and if you read the post rather than copy and past maybe you would have understood where i was coming from rather than just bash back with verbal diarrhea. This was in no way a "Cops suck dick" bitch post. I just wanted to toss out the fact that i feel the RP was lacking in some areas a bit. 

Gents i appreciate the legit responses. Cops i know you deal with a lot of shit all day long from Civs/rebels and maybe even in your own ranks and for all you guys deal with i thank ya. Admin, i meant no rudeness please dont take it that way im just voicing opinion.
