So, anyone here uses amd processors? If yes, let me know what processor do you have and how good does it run arma 3.

 
I use amd fx 6300 6 core 4.8gz OC. get 35-45 frames in/around kavala when its peak times and 60+ fps anywhere else on the map

I have fx 6300 processor too but I have terrible lag when server is almost full. What cooler do you use and what motherboard you have?

my fx6300 is not oc, its 3.5ghz and my gpu is gtx 660. I was going to new processor soon but looks like you are doing fine with fx 6300.

btw, did you overclock your processor by yourself ? I have never overclocked anything.

What do you think should I try to get my processor up to 3.5ghz to 4ghz with stock cooler?

I have FX 6350 Six core 3,9 Ghz. i get around 20fps in Kavala, elsewhere 30-35fps -.- 

 
I use Fx 6300 aswell 4,4GHz OC on SilentiumPC SpartanPRO HE924V2 cooler(good little polish cooler)and quite old Gigabyte Ga880gm-d2h motherboard so i'm not pushing the oc to it's max due to me not willing to burn the motherboard ;) .

MY Fx is runnig at 4,4GHz at 1.25V so if i had better mobo i'd bumb it way higher but oh well.

I get 20-30 FPS on full server in Kavala,30-40 anywhere else ,around 55-60 in SP or empty servers.(The fps is more likely affected by my GTX 750 and 7200RPM HDD)

Sweet. What graphics settings do you use? low, medium high ?

I use medium mixed with high,1000 view range,i change it around when i needit, it doesn't affect performance that much when i give it like another 1000.

I use hypermaster 212 evo cpu cooler along with 4 large case fans, its inportant if you gonna oc your cpu you spend few hours stress testing it make sure it can handle a good gaming session, id recommend upgrading from stock cooler they are not good for OC's. And i did do it myself but i watched a few videos to learn how its real easy with amd. motherboard is M5A99FX R2.0 along with gigabyte windforce r9x 4.0gb memory

Alright! I was looking at that cooler you are using and im probably going to buy one. What is your components temp when you are playing arma 3?

 
How do you guys get so much FPS? I online get like 20 FPS in Kavala and 30/35 outside towns. I'm using AMD FX-8350 Black edition with MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G all that installed on my MSI 970 Gaming motherboard with 8GB memory and a custom CPU cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. I didn't overclock my CPU, cause I think it's not needed.

But I think it's just ArmA 3, it's been optimized for INTEL.

If I look at GTA V, I can run that on ultra 60fps..

Yep Arma 3 is intel game but with that MOBO and that cooler it

s just dumb not to OC(sorry if insulted)Honestly mate overclock the CPU and enjoy more FPS,Arma 3 is all about Ghz and core performance.

Really have to look into it tho, never used overclocking.. Still have to get a new bigger case so I can build in some more fans for cooling. Atm I have I case I can't even close because the CPU cooler is so big xD

 
Iv'e got tha AMD A8 6600k, good cheap 4.1ghz 4 core overclocked. I picked it up for £80 but you NEED a custom fan with this, the stock one is a pile of shit

I'm also using a FX6300 (stock speeds) with a GTX 660OC I get anywhere between 25-35fps at all times regardless if server is full or low pop, I use mainly high / Very High settings with a few standard and ultra's in there, I could probably improve it to around 40 if I lowered a few things, naturally I get the occasional dips down to around 12 fps due to AMD's poor single core performance and game developers being too lazy to properly support multi threaded cpu's.

Go with the AMD FX-8320 Bare in mind that its socket AM3+, Other than that i dont know ahaha not a big AMD cpu fan i love there GPU's tho as i own a i5 4690K and a R9 280 and get roundabout 60min 75avg 90max in towns.
