Brief Summary: The ability to change your name.

Detailed Suggestion: Just the ability to change your name. Maybe its a good idea to go through the council, or just the ability to change it yourself.

The Pros:If you join a new gang or familiy you can have their last name.

The Cons:people change names very often to dont get reocognized

Does this suggestion change balance on the server ? Nah.

I’d prefer people to work around their character name limits, stick with your character and his story, if you join a gang nicknames are around for a reason.

This has come up before, and the answer this time is the same as those times.

No.

If your character joins a gang as Dilbert Scroggins, because that's the name he was born with on the character-creation screen, then he joins the gang as Dilbert Scroggins. Even if the founder of that gang has a way more cooler last name than Scroggins.

People don't change their surnames in real life simply in order to roll with gangs. Frankly, that's daft, and not at all serious RP.

If you really, really, really want to be in the Micklethwaite-Petunia gang, and simply must-must-must have that surname, then the best way to get it is to marry a Micklethwaite-Petunia in an approved courtroom/church setting with a lawful registrar, priest or judge presiding, and take that surname by due legal process.

Or simply make a brand-new character with that surname, from scratch, and roleplay it like you mean it!

And no, that doesn't mean you can create a new character and get all your money/gear/flip-flops transferred!

If people think seriously about the characters and the choices they make, the stories behind them, and their wants and needs in life, then people will become a better roleplayers. We want this. We don't want chameleon characters that change their ethos and direction more times than the average person changes their pants. It's simply not quality RP.
