I thought about whether or not to post this for a good few hours today, since it hits very close to home, but I feel like I should anyway.
Every day I only go outside for 2 short walks with my dog and see groups of people hanging around together, enjoying the weather and it angers me. I do, for the sake of it, not understand how poeple can be so damn ignorant and selfish! I also have a child at home that wants to be entertained and brought outside to play with friends but even he understands why he can not do that right now, and he is only 8 years old!
To quickly explain where this is coming from right now: This morning I was told that an old friend of mine, who had heart issues, caught the virus and passed away last night. That itself is sad and obviously there was a risk of this happening since the breakout, but here is the catch... He selfisolated from the start and was very aware and careful of the whole thing, but his roommate took it as a massive joke, went out for parties and ended up passing it on to my friend.
I totally agree that overreacting won´t help anyone at all but we all should start thinking of other people and live by the line "Don´t panic, but care!"
This whole thing is not just a joke and we are all in this together. Staff in healthcare and grocery stores, delivery drivers, officers ect. worldwide are working their arses off to keep the system up somehow and we complain about being asked to park our arses on the couch and stay inside as much as possible... smh. We obviously won´t be able to stop corona from spreading, but we can help slowing it down so hospitals and staff are not overrun to the point everything comes crashing down, is that really so hard to understand?
Also, the arguement "97% of all the people will survive this anyway" is being used so much that I have to add some little math to this:
If I give you 100 smarties and tell you that I poisened 3 of them, are you still gonna eat 97 of them without any worries? No? Well, there you go...
PLEASE stay the fuck home and don´t put others at risk for your own enjoyment, it is not worth it!
If just 1 more person understands the importance of this because of my post, it was completely worth it.
Stay safe everyone and make the best of it!
- Thank you.
Since 2015, this has been my escape from many tough periods, an escape from reality - I fully believe that a good portion of this community is here for the same reasons, and for that I am incredibly proud to be part of RPUK. A place, not only for peoples entertainment, but to help make their every-day life easier.
To the members, the staff team, our developers and Management team, thank you.
