Container Code Timeouts

More often than not I find myself moving things in and out of containers and the constant input of container codes just slows the whole process down. What I'm suggesting is once you input a container code, you have (for example) 1 minute before you need to input it again. In that minute you can open it up with no code. Ideally it would work just for you rather than anyone can just rock up and access it while you're there. Any feedback is appreciated.

I would say something better like a transfer window if a vehicle is in range of said container but this defo needs to be sorted as the input thing sucks

The easiest thing would be doing the same as gang safes (you unlock them then they stay unlocked until you re-lock them)
This would be a major help. Also adds to the potential danger and consequence of leaving it unlocked for criminal characters and/or the police.

Nice change + Bigger Risk.

+1

+1 for the idea as a whole

That said, it does open some insane risk of human error & people potentially scouting containers to see if someone has left them unlocked.

That would be interesting tho like unlock it and forget then your problem tho you can try to RP it out and find out who did it, tho the downside would be well not bad but more RP I suppose so maybe a upside but I could see it becoming common for people to watch one then just jump the person whilst they are inside it and rob everything, like you can't see them because your in the menu but they jump you and empty your container that would suck

Can also see people holding people up at containers to get them to unlock it. Will make guarding container locations and watching your surroundings paramount. Also a lot more paranoia. I’m not saying to get rid of the key code. If you’re by yourself you could still key code in just to be safe. But just to add a way to make big inventory moves quicker

Atleast with that I would imagine it'll fall under the same file as forcing someone to take money out of their bank and handing it over

What would happen also if a player unlocked a container, then crashed or disconnected through no fault of their own? Would there be a fail-safety implemented?

That’s why I said it should just be for the person who entered the code. Keeps container safety the exact same as it is now, just makes them much easier to use. Wouldn’t need two people to make big inventory moves quickly
