CCTV In Shops/Stores

Brief Summary: An upgrade available for stores/restaurants that allows the shop owner and staff to access CCTV stills from when the tills/safes are hit.

Detailed Suggestion: Working sort of like how Pillbox CCTV/Clothes store CCTV works, a shop owner can choose to upgrade their security system for a X cost. Which will allow them to access still images of their CCTV system from their computer in the store. The images would be from over the till, over the safe (if applicable) and from outside the store (which could be used to potentially get number plates).
These images wouldn't automatically be available to the police, it would be up to the store owners/employees either to use them for their own investigation or to hand them over/ submit to the police if they deemed fit.

The Pros: Increases the potential for RP, at the moment usually by the time you get to a store alarm, the perpetrators have already fled and not much evidence is left behind from a CIV POV.

The Cons: Dev Time

Does this suggestion change balance on the server ? I don't believe so.

I think this would be a good idea as it allows for more RP for shop keepers and workers and also the robbers, this would mean that people can carry on the RP after the fact if they get to the shop late or if the robber wants to turn it into something bigger.

Big +1 from me

Decent RP from seizing CCTV could be interesting. With the 1 to 1 with the shop owners snd police. +1

+1

Currently it's either get there before they escape or miss them completely and say "Oh well".

It would make sense for a store to have some form of CCTV and it would allow the owners the opportunity to take that imagine and create a further expanding RP Story, be it by reporting it to the police to have them investigate the crime or by allowing the owner to take matters into... their own hands ;)

Perhaps the way to do this, is a cctv channel in the groups Discord, one for each business that captures anyone holding a weapon needed to break into said terminal? This way the owner only shares what they want?

My thinking was that shop owners / employees could use the computer in the office and access the image similar to the police control room CCTV, except it would just be still images from the most recent break in (or maybe store the last 3 or so).

Sounds good to me!

I like the idea, gives the owners a chance and more rp with police.
It would also give the criminals a second thought and perhaps plan their heist more carefully than just a quick cash grab.
I have a question though, would you like the criminal to be able to "take out" these cameras? If so, i personally believe some sort of software should be added to allow this instead of perhaps shooting at them. Yet i can see this becoming annoying where the owner is constantly having to repair them, which may or may not be costly, so it should be essentially hard to take them out.

I don't think there would be a need to disable the cameras. A smart criminal would just make sure they wear a disguise and use a local car, then switch clothes and cars after. It's just allowing a bit of extra time to potentially catch those before they do that or catch those who maybe don't 😂 Obviously, if you handed over the images to police it could be accompanied with the existing forensics typically left behind.

Yeah i see your point now, would cause hassle for no reason, especially when the crim has many counters to them like you said. I still +1 this for giving the owners/police time to respond more effectively with more evidence than a usual empty scene.
