• Introduction paragraph changed to flow better, and to make grammatical sense.

    From:

Hello! and a massive warm welcome to the rules of Altis Life UK, It is extremely important you read this page thoroughly, So before we start please go and grab a cup of tea and take time to read carefully through our rules to make sure you do not find yourself banned.

[*]To:

  • Hello and welcome to Altis Life UK's rules! In order to maintain our extremely high quality of roleplay, we have a rather lengthy set of rules that all players must abide by. Therefore we advise that you grab a cup of tea/another beverage and take time to read and absorb the information here to ensure that your experience on our servers is all good and well!

[*]From:

  • We are known for being strict with our rules and the reason for this is to make sure we retain the best quality roleplay on the server at all times, This sets our serious roleplay community miles apart from any other roleplay servers.

[*]To:

  • We are well known for being strict with our rules, this allows us to maintain our extremely high standard of roleplay on our servers at all times. This distances ourselves from a lot of other communities that offer minuscule punishments, such as temporary bans. We believe that if you are banned, you should have to explain your side of the story, rather than wait a few hours for the ban to expire. This means our staff team has to do a lot more administration work than other communities, yet it ensures that only people who really want to get un-banned can play again.

01/02/2016 - Rule Amendment

From:

(7.1.1) Holding a rebel licence you are unable to be in the Police (unless on Police holiday) or be a bountyhunter.

To:

(7.1.1) Police members are unable to do any illegal activity (unless on a Police holiday)

From:

(2.13) Please keep all aviation 200m above the ground unless landing, Flying over a greenzone or near a greenzone will destory any good roleplay so please refrain from doing so.

To:

(2.13) Please keep all aviation 300m above any greenzone or Kavala, Athira & Pygros unless landing. (This is to make sure any roleplay is not disturbed)

Removed:

(3.9) Poor roleplay will not be tolerated, For example put your hands up or I will shoot is considered very low quality roleplay and can be considered RDM (see general rules)

Reason: Sorry about this rule, I understand that some people are on edge about this, It will remain admin discretion to ban someone for low quality/poor roleplay but only based on a rule break like RDM etc when reported with evidence or viewed by the admin.

Due to an administrative error, 2.15 and 2.16 (see above two posts) were missed from the live ruleset. They have been re-added, and as such are now active and enforceable again until further notice.

Due to the addition of new zones and some requests from our whitelisted factions we have amended the following rules:

(2.2) Random Deathmatch (also known as RDM) - Shooting at someone without engaging in any form of quality role play (eg. Giving enough time for them to comply with your order. Count downs are not considered quality roleplay, please at least attempt to create an interesting roleplay story before considering shooting.) is considered RDM. (Punishment is a ban).
This rule is not applicable in the red zone.

(2.12) NHS Medics -The NHS are here to help and revive people and have less than 10 slots on the 125 slot server. It is a bannable offense to kill a medic or take a medic hostage, It is also bannable to steal a medic's vehicle. Medics may be killed inside the Red Zone, however their vehicles are still off limits.

Zone Rules:
Zones marked on the map are in popular main cities, Police Stations & NHS Hospitals (usually popular and busy), and Rebel controlled areas.

The green zone is an area setup for the joys of being able to roleplay and a friendly and safe environment for all players without the usual hassle of being robbed/killed.

However please note that green zones are not safe havens, if you are chased into one by the Police/Bounty Hunters or you are wanted they will taze and arrest you.

The red zone is an area setup for those with a taste for danger, and as the RDM rule does not apply, extreme caution should be taken if entering.

The blue zone is an area setup for Police to carry out their duty. In RP this area is a fully staffed police HQ, therefore illegal activity is prohibited here.

(6.1) You are unable to kill anyone in a green or blue zone (Punishment is a ban)

(6.2) Lethal weapons must be holstered inside both green and blue zones at all times.

(6.3) You are unable to rob/knockout anyone in a green or blue zone (Punishment is a ban)

(6.4) You are unable to lockpick or steal vehicles in a green or blue zone (Punishment is a ban)

(6.5) If you are in active combat you are unable to run into the green zone to avoid being   killed/robbed (Punishment is a ban)

(6.6) The Redzone is a very dangerous and lawless place; you can still roleplay here however make sure you are prepared to be shot at as the RDM rule does not apply in this zone.

(6.7) VDM still applies in the Redzone and we encourage you to still roleplay out any situations however this is not mandatory.

(6.8) Medics are free to enter the Redzone, but may decide not to depending on the situation. If they do enter, they are liable to be engaged in combat, however their vehicles still cannot be commandeered.

(6.9) Hostages may not be taken in the Red Zone, or taken into the Red Zone. This is to ensure hostage situations are always carried out with the best RP possible.

(7.2.5) You may not write in sidechat that you are robbing the bank. This is your operation with the friends/members that are there with you. You may not call for backup, only those on site at the beginning of the heist may take part. This rule does not apply to the UNMC or Police

(9.2.4) Combat Reviving - If combat is in effect, or shots have been fired within the last 5 minutes, the area is not safe to enter for rescuing the injured. Therefore, you cannot revive at this time. This rule is exempt for civilians using defibrillators.

(9.3.1) Attacking the UNMC Base - You may attack the UNMC base, however this must be authorised by a member of staff at the time.

If you have any feedback regarding these changes please feel free to post them here.

Ok so normally I make this post as I edit the rules to show the before and after but I messed it up tonight so the rules below are the ones which have been changed:

(2.4) Using any exploits such as looting dead bodies, duplication of items or money, abusing the Bounty hunter system to exploit money from the wanted system, using the ‘Flip Vehicle’ feature outside of its intended purpose, transferring / processing items through walls and windows, and locking doors that have been broken into before 10 minutes have passed, IE those that have been bolt-cut. Punishment is a permanent ban without appeal. If you discover an exploit that nobody else knows about, please reveal it to a staff member privately in order to ensure that it does not be abused in the future.

3.1 - You must remain in character at all times, unless a uniformed Admin authorises you to speak out of character. Roleplay everything.

3.2.1 - Out of Character (OOC) interactions must be made over side chat.
3.2.2 - Quick messages to another player in direct chat must be prefaced by the syntax “//”
3.2.3 - Extended OOC interactions are forbidden.

3.3 - Microphones are required on RPUK servers.

3.4 - Side (OOC) chat roleplay is forbidden. You must not use side chat to broadcast about events you observe (for example, you may not broadcast “X are going to rob the bank”). The exception to this is advertising your ingame business.

3.5.1 - You must hot-mic all communications that have been made over teamspeak when they are relevant to influencing the course of roleplay.
This means that if you are communicating to fellow team members via Teamspeak and you are in audio proximity range of another player (they can hear you), you must hot mic any commands given so the rival player can overhear.
This rule does not apply if both sides are engaged in a gunfight together.

3.5.2 - When your communication devices have been taken from you by another player, you must not use external methods or group chat to communicate with anyone else. Only direct chat is to be used in this case.

3.8 - Helicopter Initiation rules
3.8.1 - As Police or UNMC: 1 ATC message must be sent clearly indicating the target and stating intention to fire upon the helicopter followed by 2 minutes to comply to said message.
3.8.2 - As any other party: Warning shots must be issued with 3 tracer rounds past the front and rear of the aircraft. 2 minutes should be given to comply before taking action.

7.1.3 - Killing and executing someone must be carried out with quality roleplay, “put your hands up or I will shoot” etc is considered poor RP and may lead to a ban for RDM/Fail RP.

8.1 - Using the ARAC or Taxi spawn points for any purpose other than the implied duties is forbidden.

Bounty hunter rules removed.

There will be some zone changes coming tomorrow as well. Awaiting a layout change to the rules page.

The following rules will be applicable to counter players joining the server for a specific operation or scenario:

HM Rules:

For the below, the bank zone is defined as the gray shaded area on the map. (1km from treasury until map update with marked area)

(X.1) Once the blasting charge has been planted, police officers that are not in-game at the time (beyond the lobby screen) cannot enter the bank zone (1km from treasury until map update with marked area) until the situation is finished (see x.3).

(X.2) Engagement may not traverse the zones. Consequently, people inside of the zone may not engage those outside of it, and vice versa.

(X.3) After 5 minutes have passed without an exchange of gunfire, the situation is to be considered over.

(X.4) Police barred from entering the bank zone as per 7.2.7 are permitted to establish a perimeter around the zone for the purpose of preventing civilians from entering and/or preventing the gold from escaping.

Group Base (including Police and UNMC) Attacks:

A group shall be defined as any collection of persons established through the Y Menu system, or any whitelisted faction except the NHS.

(x.1) Attacking group bases can only be done under the following circumstances:

A member of the attacking group follows the base owner into the base as part of an active pursuit. (This only applies to player group owned bases, and does not apply to factions).

With permission from a staff member and where said staff member can look over the situation while it unfolds. The staff member authorising the attack must be completely neutral in the situation.

(x.2) The owning group cannot use their group spawn once the attack has begun (shots fired), until the situation is considered over as defined in rule x.4.

(x.3) Only group members online when the attack begins can respond. Online shall be defined as a person who is in the stage of loading the game beyond the lobby screen.

(x.4) The attack is classed as over after 5 minutes of inactivity.

(x.5) During a base attack, the base owner cannot repair any doors (for example, if you door has been broken down by a police officer, you cannot lock it)

Note that there will be a specifice map area defined when the next map update is live. Until then the bank area is classed as 1KM from the HM Treasury.  These rules will be implemented into the main rules when we have created specific areas for them.

Thanks to all involved in creating these rules and as always any feedback is appreciated and can be posted here.

The new rules regarding the HM treasury have now been reversed! However we have added the following rule:

(4.7) Using out of game communications to encourage other players to log on and sway the result of an event or roleplay situation is forbidden. Similarly, joining the server using metagamed information is forbidden. (Punishment is a ban)

I am still working on getting the new zone rules added please be patient.

I just have a personal point to make on these rule changes. I know you all think its me personally that is making all these changes but its not! These rules are always made from hours of discussions and input from from you guys on the rules feedback thread, consultation with staff and sometime faction leads. So yeah I know that people love to vilify me but I can assure you these are a a group effort!

We DO listen to you guys however we also know where the issues are stemming from. Please rest assured the root cause of some of the recent reports will be monitored closely.

Have a great evening!

Ok so as said above the Zone rules have now been amended from:

(6.4) You are unable to use lockpicks or steal vehicles in a green or blue zone (Punishment is a ban)

(6.5) If you are in active combat or are being pursued you are unable to run or drag downed players into the green zone to avoid being killed/robbed (Punishment is a ban)

(6.6) You cannot exploit the greenzone in order to carry out illegal activity; i.e. parking a drug vehicle inside of the greenzone preventing it being robbed (Punishment is a ban)

(6.7) The Redzone is a very dangerous and lawless place; you can still roleplay here however make sure you are prepared to be shot at as the RDM rule does not apply in this zone.

(6.8) All other server rules apply in the Redzone.

(6.9) Medics are free to enter the Redzone, but may decide not to depending on the situation. If they do enter, they are liable to be engaged in combat, however their vehicles still cannot be commandeered.

(6.10) Hostages may not be taken in the Red Zone, or taken into the Red Zone. This is to ensure hostage situations are always carried out with the best RP possible.

To:

There are 3 types of marked zones that you will experience on the map.
Green zones are “Safe” areas where players are able to convene without hostile interruption. They are not safe havens from the law however, Police can attempt to arrest you.
Blue zones are “Police” areas where extra protections are afforded to Police.
Red zones are “Hostile” areas where certain rules are suspended.

(6.0.1) - You must not abuse the boundaries of any marked zone on the map. Using the boundary to troll or temporarily gain protection is forbidden.

(6.1.4) - You must not lockpick or steal a vehicle from the green zone.
(6.1.5) - You must not park or leave your vehicle inside of a green zone in order to sell illegal items such as drugs or guns.

(6.2.1) - You must not attempt to kill anyone in a blue zone
(6.2.2) - Lethal weapons must be holstered in blue zones. This rule does not apply to the police. Breaking this rule can result in being kicked from the server.

(6.2.4) - You must not park or leave your vehicle inside of a blue zone in order to sell illegal items such as drugs or guns.

Red zone specific rules:

(6.3.1) - All other server rules apply in the Red zones with the exception of the RDM rule.
(6.3.2) - Hostages are not to be taken into the Red zones.
(6.3.3) - For Red zone specific rules to apply, both shooter and victim must be inside the Red zone.

Thanks to all involved in creating these rules and as always any feedback is appreciated and can be posted here.
