Hi everyone - been on the server 2 weeks now and I've really enjoyed it. But got banned today and to be honest it was a little confusing, I will use the template below.

The rules are not clear enough on firefights with cops - if you read my description you will easily see my point of view.

 
I'm doing frogs legs with a friend and I have an illegal weapon because people were attempting to rob me. My friend had an illegal weapon too.

We are selling frogs legs when my friend gets attacked by 2 people in a car and he opens fire. At this point I guess we are fugitives.

Someone texted cops and they come and catch my friend off guard. They arrest him for having an illegal weapon. Well I have one too... My friend and I also have about 100k cash on us and frogs legs in the truck. Theres about 200k cash, 200k worth of frogs legs, 100k worth of guns, 50k worth of other gear we can't afford to lose by being arrested, fined, or impounded etc. Why should we go to jail? We are legal vendors but we need illegal guns to protect from bandits who carry rifles. I had to do something

So I stealthily snuck round the wall and see the police trying to put my friend in the police car. There are 2 cops and I'm the only one unrestrained. I had to do something quickly. I engage in a firefight with cops eventually killing both of them saving my friend.

We now have a very high wanted level and so we make our escape and while we are planning how to sell the rest of our frogs legs, bank our cash and store our trucks while evading the police.....When I'm kicked and banned from the game.

This seems a little unfair...  What could I have done differently? I had to shoot the cops because my friend would lose his money, gear and weapons. If the cops saw me with my illegal weapon they would have done the same to me. If I just hid they would of impounded my truck full of frogs legs because it was in the middle of the road. I only had a split second to save my friend from being put into the police car so I had to take the shot. It was a huge risk but we needed the cash and gear, I knew I could die in the process but luckily I succeeded. This is perfectly within the realm of RP, me and my friend do over a million every day with frogs legs and we need illegal weapons to protect from robbers. So if cops want to take our weapons and arrest us for it they need to secure the whole area.

It actually broke the whole RP experience I had with my friend since we were both now outlaws, we were hearing sirens and we were hiding in a field planning how we could sell the rest of our frogs legs, bank our cash and store our trucks while evading police chasing us. Was the most fun I had on this server and got banned before I could do any of that. I've read the rules so many times and it's not clear.

edit: Also if I get unbanned I will make sure I learn the rule that caused me to get banned in the first place, obviously I wouldn't have done it if I had knew I shouldn't have done whatever I did in the first place. I will also make sure my friends know because they would have done the same thing if I was the one being sent to the games jail. But I just read the rules again and there still is nothing in there that can explain this.

That's what I see whenever I log in now. I thought usually admins put the ban reason in the message.

I don't know if Maratek was one of the two cops that was there, he could have been I can't remember the names. I PM'd him really politely if he could take a look at this thread and he read it but didn't reply to my message or the thread.

Hello admins and Wolfy.

I was the cop on scene, aswell as my PC Mellbak. So on request of CMDR Maratek here is my story:

I was on patrol with my PC when i spot a guy with an illegal firearm in his hand. When asked to not move and do not anything suspicious he holstered his fire arm. But he didn't say a word at all. When we try and talk to him he does not answer. In the middle of this attempt to communicate you jump out of the tempest truck and shoot me down even tho i had my firearm holstered and said "please dont shoot/stop."
Fine, no sever rule broken only really bad RP in my eyes.

When my PC took you down with a rubberbullet and restraint you something magically happened:

You killed my PC while you were restrained. I have no video evidence but looking upon these screenshots i think this is enough.

You used an ingame bug to your advantage 

Rule 1: Cheating, exploiting, hacking

I just hope you learn something from this, and in the future try and RP more instead of KOS

I'm being absolutely honest when I say I didn't do anything to cheat or exploit at all. When I got shot by rubber bullets the only button I was pressing was the left mouse button so I would be able to fire as soon as the rubber bullets wore off.

I typed SORRY I TRIED to my friend because I thought I had failed. Then my character just got up so I started shooting.

I didn't do a single thing to unrestrain myself I'm not aware of any glitches at all in this game I have only had it for 3 weeks. The only thing I can think of is my friend must have unrestrained me from behind. I can't even ask him because he hasn't accepted me on steam yet. His playername is Mikkel2000. For all I know the game just glitched and removed my cuffs. I wouldn't know if this is normal or not I haven't played Altis life for very long. Or maybe Maratek clicked restrain twice and it uncuffed me.

I shot you and you went down. I then tried to shoot your friend. He put lots of rubber bullets in me. I went down. I typed sorry i tried to my friend. Then I see my character get up so I shoot your friend and then we get away.

After I shot your friend Mikkel2000 was already unrestrained so we got in our trucks and drove away.

But there is absolutely no way I did anything to exploit the game and it's something I would never do because I would never want to be banned.

edit I just realized it was Mellbak on the scene and not Maratek. If Mellbak replies to this thread then maybe we can work this out because he was the one facing me when I was unrestrained Levi you were dead at the time so you couldn't see. Maybe Mellbak has on video what happened.

What i Saw was you being restrained, then i ran to safety to get a shot on your friend, when I was killed by you, so i did not face you when you starter shooting at me. Everyting else worth saying has already bin said by Levi :)

 
I wasn't recording so I guess I can't prove anything unless Mikkelh2000 wants to join the conversation. Did you ban him too? How did he get unrestrained - why were you even shooting him when he was already in cuffs?

I really did not do anything on my part to try and glitch out. If anything happened it wasn't intentional and I still don't know how I did it.

All I guess I can say now is that I hope I get a second chance because I enjoy playing on this server.

Im not an admin, so i did not ban you. Most of the times when you get restrained you will automaticlly lay down, and when there are no playermod for laying down while in cuffs, you will pull out you gun, and then you are free to shoot for a few seconds.

Now to why i ran away from you friend, he was restrained by Levi, and when person who restrains you die, you get unrestrained. So he would actually be able to kill me.

 
Well it looks like when I shot Levi that automatically unrestrained Mikkelh2000 and then he lockpicked my cuffs so I had my gun back in my hand and I was able to shoot you so we could both get away... I don't understand why people are so quick to say that I'm exploiting and ban me.

edit also I appreciate you guys giving me the chance to actually talk about this and figure it out.

Wait you are telling me you got lockpicked out of your cuffs in 6 seconds, impressive..

Anyways, we are going to leave this to the admins to decide, I would kindly ask no cops to re-comment on this anymore. Otherwise it will turn into a yes-no conversation.

Well, despite him lockpicking you cuffs it does not unlock that fast. If you get a second chance, then remember, when your in cuffs, stop spamming your mouse button, it will get you in trouble.

And this is not me being rude or anything, but it is allow to think, when you are restrained and then that not 10 seconds later have a gun in your hand, its probably not meant there. Keep that in mind if you ever come in a situation like that again ;)

Mellbak did say that after he restrained me he ran away to safety to get a clear shot on my friend. Also there was a big time gap between killing you and then Mellbek so Mikkel had plenty of time to lockpick my cuffs. When I shot Mellbek Mikkel was right behind me.

I don't want to sound disrespectful but you are trying really hard to make it look like this wasn't possible. It is much more plausible it happened this way and he lockpicked me than me exploiting a bug to get out of my cuffs.

I'm pretty sure I've seen you around Altis on your cop duties Levi you are a decent player and very reasonable. I know lots of people try to do all different types of glitches and exploit in Altis life but that didn't happen here. Please try to see my point of view.

Maybe I could have handled this from an RP point a little better. Maybe I could have held up the cops and ask them to let my friend go. But my heart was racing a lot, I'm quite new to this game, I knew I wasn't breaking any written rules shooting the cops and I definitely didn't try to exploit any bugs. I have no clue if clicking the mouse button unrestrains you that doesn't make sense to me but if I ever get restrained again I won't press anything at all incase it unlocks me.

I'm surprised nobody here understands how rubber bullet restrain works. First you go down by the rubber bullets, you get restraint - you then pull out your gun and go back to the ground and then you get up again and get restraint. If you hold mouse one after the rubber bullets were off you're going to shoot.

Thanks Nikolai. I'm not familiar with the restraint mechanics at all and I've never played as a cop in the game or used the rubber bullet gun.

So when you get shot with rubber bullets the game automatically puts cuffs on you and it's a permanent restraint not temporary? So I got shot with rubber bullets and went down and it says I was restrained. I was down for like 10 seconds then the game makes you stand up and once you are stood up it automatically puts cuffs on you? But while you are getting up you are able to shoot briefly? I think that is what happened and because I killed Mellbak once I was standing up there were no restraints on me at all after.

I didn't know any of this, how am I supposed to know? I guarantee if in the server rules (or that temporary server rule thread that is supposed to stop problems like this until they are fixed) it warned you not to hold down mouse button after being shot with rubber bullets then I would have seen it and would never of held down that mouse button.

There has to be some kind of warning or written rule for this so people are aware and don't do this by accident.

For me all it looked like was I got shot with rubber bullets. I wasn't dead. The rubber bullets wore off and I stood up and shot Mellbak. I have had no idea until this point how the mechanics of all this worked and now I know if I was in this position again and the game let me take my gun out I shouldn't fire it because that's not supposed to happen.

Nikolai Vagin you should be a game mentor because you are the only one who actually tried to neutrally explain the game mechanics to me and didn't automatically accuse me of being a cheater and purposefully exploit the game. Heck guys all I had done on my part was have my finger on left mouse button. I had no idea it would turn into all of this.

Please unban me. If I ever get shot with rubber bullets again I'm not going to press anything at all. Could someone please make this a server rule too. It really sucks to be in this position I don't want this to happen to someone else. I've tried playing other Altis life servers and even the other popular ones suck hard compared to this one.

As soon as you see they restrain text right in the middle of your screen do not press anything. You are restrained.
