Windows 10, wireless dongle keeps disconnecting

For some reason my dongle keeps disconnecting. I have had this problem with 2 of the dongles now, it isnt a connection issue do to the power light being on, on the dongle.

This is my dongle.

If you've been having this issue with more than one receiver it could be an issue with your rother/modem. Have you tried your connection on any other devices (via WiFi)?

on a more serious note,

  1. What dongle are you using
  2. are you using the supplied software
  3. What version of windows are you on
  4. when did this behaviour start happening
  5. What have you tried so far to resolve it
Cheers

It dosent do it on my phone! it only started to do it when i upgraded it windows 10!

not got a option for a Ethernet cable dude?
Nope, router is downstairs and im upstairs!

Thanks for responding,

Try it with the default win10 drivers and remove the netgear software.

If you can reproduce the issue that would be really helpful, otherwise keep a log of when it happens and we can trawl through your event log for clues.

Apologies you did list it, i skimmed My apologies !!!

Actually I refuse to click on pcworld links :p

802.11ac Wireless LAN Card : The adapter is configured such that the receive space is smaller than the maximum packet size.  Some packets may be lost.

|Found this!

Before we start manually setting the packet size, have you been able to try it without the Netgear software?

Yes that error is useful, it should be adjusted to what is expected, but at this point that is most ikley going to be automatically managed by windows if you remove the custom netgear software.

(ensure you have an offline copy of the software, incase you run into driver issues)

glad to hear it was a simple fix :)

It sounds like corrupted settings, personally I tend to avoid custom wireless software. But there is nothing wrong with it.
