Win 10 problem,

Well title says I have a win 10 problem so here goes. I just installed new CPU, Motherboard into my system everything is fine now apart from I'm getting error message for windows as follows.

Activate Windows

Go to settings and activate windows.

Well I do what it says but the problem is my old case had the windows key for my Win-7 Pro sticker and well it's gone, Anyone know a work around for this issue or a old windows 7 key I can use.

I think I've got this.... the free upgrade to windows 10 worked by making an unique hash or serial number by using your computer parts serial/id number, motherboard, CPU, RAM etc. 

By swapping both CPU and motherboard your windows 10 copy now won't sync with the unique number they generated for you.

Therefor prompting a request for a serial number.  

In short; the upgrade to win10 belonged to the machine not to you.

easy fix as well, pm me for a copy of microsoft toolkit, this can read your proper win10 installation key, then you can just reactivate it on your new machine.

you will need to run it on your old system though as it was.... sorry for this

I got lucky, I contacted a few of my I.T buddies and one of them brought me a OEM disc from his shop and we formatted the drive, now I'm updated on win 7 I dunno if I want to go to winX now lol

if you have activated copy of win7, just upgrade to win10 get teh code and then fresh install, nice and simple

I dont have product key for this win7 it was OEM for when he builds new computers.

I just upgraded to win 10 again, kinda like the better OS that it gave.
