Why no task force?

I was looking through the forum by using the search bar and most of the comments seemed positive, how come it hasn't been implemented?
I know some of the dev's have said ''no mods'' but it seems simple enough and realy most of it is through team speak? i dont know anything about how mods affect server performance, im just curious because it gives such a great level of immersion.

Probably because it’s altis life and it’s known to be played without any mods, also allows new players to join without the hassle of downloading mods just to play an Altis life server (Just my opinion anyways)

This is exactly the reason why it's this communities policy to not use mods at all. No matter how small or good they are working, the intention is that someone new to Arma 3 who's heard of Altis Life can join the server without having to do anything more than double click the name in the server list and consequently download the mission file.

I love task force radio, however it needs to be installed by the client, and not as a server addon and this then effectively makes it a modded life server and not an Altis life server. Installing mods puts new players off and could cause the server to loose players. It would then also mean that you have to be in one TS channel the whole time for it to work, so you would then have to have a radio in use(probably a modded one too) to be able to talk with other police/gang members and it is tm hassle for an Altis life server. If they were to introduce a second, modded life server, to RPUK then it would be used but because it requires clients to set up the mod(client side), it would put more pressure on the staff team who would then have to help out everyone doing it if they do not know how to do it themselves. No Altis life server uses Task Force Radio because Altis is meant to be something where you just download the mission file and you can play, and not require something Like Arma 3 Sync or A3 Launcher to play and download all the custom files, which can amount to 100's GBs of them at the end.

I agree, however, i know that alot of people on the server arent on Team speak at all.
As i said i dont know much about this stuff but from what iv read Task force is realy simple to install.
another question: would it stop/kick players who dont have the mod from the server? or would they just join without the features?

If you join a server with TFR(task force radio) without being on the TS, it comes up with a black screen telling you to connect, and if you are on the TS it will drag you into the TFR channel, and whenever you leave it drags you back into it 10 seconds later. The only way to be on the server and other TS channels at the same time is to disable it in the settings, but then you cannot play becuase screen will go black. Then if you want to go on another TS sevrer you have to disable it. You have to have TFR to play on a server that uses TFR as that becomes the only way to communicate on the server.

It is also highly abusable becuae when people nearby you are speaking and you use something like Overwolf(TS addon that lets you see who is speaking whilst in game) will give you the name of players speaking nearby, so people who use that(like me) will know who it is and can already plan ahead(mug, kidnap, run away) etc depending on the gang.

Task force is really simple, but it does mean that if you don't have it you won't be able to join the server. This is something management never wanted and I don't see it change anytime soon. Maybe some people don't use teamspeak, that's their choice. It is however the main voice platform for the community and people who are new and don't use it, will at some point be directed towards it. Either because they've been called to TS to discuss a rule-break, or because they integrate with the community and join a gang, police or NHS, which requires them to turn to Teamspeak.

The TS address is broadcasted in the chat multiple times per hour and the intro-blob describing the server also displays the address.

In the end, forcing people to download this mod won't do much if the issue is they aren't on teamspeak, seeing as TaskForce Radio uses teamspeak and (afaik) wouldn't even work without it. So instead of only having to join teamspeak to communicate with other community members, people must now download and install the mod AND teamspeak. If they aren't on teamspeak now, why would they be on there if we give them another hoop to jump through =).
