Why have Bounty Hunters been removed?

Just wondered if someone could provide some background to the decision to remove the BH profession from the server. I think it’s been gone some time. 

I wanted to make the suggestion to being it back in the suggestion a thread but wanted to understand why it was removed in the first place before doing so.

It was underused and caused far too many issues with regards to metagaming (be it malicious/accusations or not).

Also, giving non-whitelisted players free roam with rubbber bullets did not pan too well.

It was just a role that had the potential on paper, when in actuality it caused far too many issues

Bounty Hunting was removed due to it rarely being used and people metagaming to find their targets. That is at least what I heard.

It's sad. I roleplayed as a bounty hunter for a few but then the police started to arrest me all the time and took all my stuff constantly

I agree. I like the bounty hunter role and I get that you can still RP it but it’s a shame there’s no real reward for it, no XP points or Prestige and no special equipment to assist with the procrss. 

I get the comments about it being a real easy one to meta game with and giving non-whitelisted players tasers/rubber bullets but surely rules against this already exist. If people break those rules, they should be subject to the normal sanctions and for repeat offences, banned. 

I also get that this may make an unacceptable workload for admins and staff/devs to manage if the numbers of people interested doing it properly we’re low. It sounds like it became more trouble than it was worth. Shame.
