First of all I have been active on this server for about a week. I have been doing honest work for most of that time and had alot of people point a gun at me. I have read the server rules but I don't really know what the right time is for people to start firing and since the one time I tried to be a rebel went sour. (And I do apologise for the people involved who I might have ruined their experience) I thought it is time I probe the server rules a little more so I can identify the line between RDM and correct use of weapons.
I am sure there have been many situations like this before but I am a little confused about when I am allowed to fire at another player. I will give a couple of situations
I robbed a store or a Person or I have done something wrong. Police are running after me. I hear them Shout "Stop or I will shoot"
Situation 1: They shoot because I kept running. I then find cover and shoot back.
Situation 2: They shoot but I hide. After some stealthy maneuvers I catch them off guard and open fire.
Situation 3: They don't shoot. I get behind cover and open fire
Situation 4: They don't shoot but I hide. After some stealthy maneuvers I catch them off guard and open fire.
The reason I need to return to fight the Police is because they have taken my Comrade hostage. I am returning to the fight to retrieve them.
The whole situation takes no more than 3 mins.
The exact situation I was in was Situation 4. Now that I look back I think that was the closest scenario to RDM. However from my standpoint the fact that I didn't comply to the demands of the Policeman I assumed that if I were to encounter them again they would not have been so reluctant. On top of the fact they Cuffed my comrade. Do I really have to wait for them to shoot at me before I can shoot back? If so then how will it work if it was just Civilian against Civilian? Is it just whoever gives the Demand first takes control of the situation?
Furthermore, In a Standoff situation. Everyone has their guns out and someone is making demands. When is force allowed to be carried out? If someone says "drop your weapon" do I have to say "No you drop your weapon" before anyone is allowed to shoot each other?
Is there ever a Case where person A is allowed to shoot at Person B because of something Person B has said or done? Because the only time I have seen someone not call RDM is when Person A Shoots person B because Person A didn't comply to person B's demands. Which makes me think the only person who is allowed to fire their gun is someone who makes demands.
Thanks for taking the time to read.
