As of Saturday 28/02/2015, the temporary 'Police Hostage' rule is being revoked. Once again, members of the police force above the rank of PCSO are free game for Hostage/Kidnap RP.
This was introduced about 6 weeks ago in order to give the police some breathing room at a time when they were under a lot of pressure as a unit, and as players, and I would like to thank the community for going along with what had to be done.
I'm happy to say that things have changed since then, with the force really getting back on track with the introduction of new features, roles, abilities, and numbers.
Now, before you all go out looking for Maratek, I would like to remind you to please be responsible when getting your toys back. This is AltisLifeUK, and we should be proud when we say we Roleplay Everything.
I love that this has finally been given back to you, I've certainly had a lot of feedback for it, but I implore - be reasonable in the frequency of these situations. Hostage situations all too often are very one sided, and I agree that is kinda the point. But it's a game, so I beg of you, do your best to keep your hostage engaged, and feel part of the fun that you have when taking them.
The only change worth noting with this reintroduction is what you can expect to recieve for your hostage. No longer will the police be exchanging items, be it spike strips, berets, SOS scopes, hunters or other such objects. So be aware when taking a hostage, you will only be trading their life for cash. Sensible rebels will keep an eye on how much they stand to gain, verses how much gear they stand to lose should things turn sour.
