What Would You Like to be implemented to the Altis oceans?

I would like to state before i get started i hope i am not stepping on the Admins toes by posting this.​

So if you are not already aware i have been handed the The Chief Role For MPU (Marine Policing Unit). And it has been at everyone's attention for most people there is simply not a lot to do on the seas of Altis which is Profitable / Fun / Appealing. I spent the majority of the past 24 hours Thinking  of ideas that may be Both fun profitable and would work within Altis life and to be honest i can not really think of any, (But that's Me) but There was a few.

So for starters we all know that Arma Three has a very limited boat selection, and there is currently no big vessels which could carry a large capacity of in-game items, So could it possibly be a idea to increase the boats inventory? so you could carry for example more clams / Old gold bars?

Next in my trail of thoughts was a few extra in Water mini games. you are hopefully all familiar with the Gold ship wrecks on Altis and boat wrecks, and Clams, and  in my eyes they are very enjoyable scenarios but can and will become very repetitive. So in the past there has been talk / Rumors of oil Rig/Rigs. What i would love to see! i have many ideas how these could work maybe you would have to Rob oil? From the wealthy oil lords? or just simply mine oil.

And i have also thought with the help of others a second type of Gold boat wrecks, and in itself would act like the HM Treasury, you must place a blasting charge and wait a Certain amount of time before being able to access the gold, and the vault may only hold for example Five gold bars Resulting in around a 500K profit.

And maybe even a Cider Wreck were boats a being beached / Sunk when bringing The beloved Ale to Altis, and you can go and see what you can salvage and then sell your findings to Kavala Bar?

These are Just a Few Ideas what have fried my brain to think of, So this is were you can come in this post may not interest you but i hope it does what would you like to see implemented in the seas of Altis? And then maybe we could Request the good / suitable ideas to be implemented / Trialed.

1) Not exactly what you want but move all HM Treasury boat wrecks out of UNMC. They wouldn't be there in real life and the police can't clear them.

2) More boat spawns. Maybe at the east like Paros.

Maybe only have drug boats go down in UNMC, or arms boats.

 
I'm not much of a seaman, but I certainly hope any additions to the waters of Altis are good for Law Abiding Citizens to take part in. I don't want to have to steal from oil tycoons, but I certainly would invest my time in dealing with them given the opportunity. I'll spend some time thinking about novel ideas, and PM you if I come up with anything noteworthy. Thanks JJE.

 
Suggestion A (For law abiding citizens): 

Ocean DP (Delivery) missions. This is a true to life trade that would potentially entice the law abiding citizens to the ocean. It would take longer to complete but the payout would be more than that of the land option available. Routes and DP points would maybe require some admin planning but this is something i would love to see.

Suggestion B (For the criminals out there):

Bring back turtles! Now this depends very much on whether the server agrees or not as this could cause lag. I think maybe having nature reserves in which the turtles reside that you crims out there have to sneak into the reserve and snatch up the turtles. The reserves could be located close by to the main cities which are near to sea thus making it actually challenging to carry out this process as before hand it was pretty risk free with little payout (increase payout too). 

Suggestion C (For both crims and Citizens):

We've all spoke about it before, OIL RIGS!. Yes i would love love love to see this happen. The two ways in which they could simultaneously work is that for the Citizens they are required to buy an oil refinery licence (separate from the current oil licence), at the first rig which allows them to start 'digging/drilling' into the sea bed thus after a lengthy progression bar they are rewarded un-refined oil. They must then travel to a 2nd oil rig to begin processing it, after which the processed oil can be sold at any oil trader which could be located both land or sea.

For the crims it could be as so; located on the 2nd rig there is a bunch of 'cargo' (same containers as used at the treasury) which they must break into. The cargo crates are stored in a locked area which must be accessed via a security coded room. After 'cracking the code' (5 min progression bar) the cargo is now accessible which is done so by bolt-cutting into the crates themselves. Obviously this is an in depth idea that is still 'just an idea' but maybe with a little thought it could work. Prices etc. would need to be worked out but this is something i feel would be super cool!

By being able to do both legal and illegal activities on the rigs i think it could bring immense role-play situations such as;

  • Hostages being held at rigs while the cargo is stolen
  • Crims blending in with citizens to not arouse attention when attempting a cargo robbery
  • Citizens flocking to rigs to work together creating effective and efficient trade routes.
  • And many more



Obviously as mentioned these are all 'just ideas' feel free to chip in with any suggestions and constructive feedback. The oil rig idea is the one i put most though into. I think we do not utilize the oceans enough on our server when there is so much potential. Thanks for reading!

Floating fuel stations

Boat racing "track" could have Bouys that are set out for trading routes that happen to also be in a rough layout of a race circuit so it could be classed as illegal for blocking trade routes to and from the island

Fishing, I know that wildlife is very taxing to the server so we could have creative license to say the fish are there but obviously they aren't could have endangered fish thus illegal to catch and keep(tuna perhaps it is the future after all) that you have a chance at catching and the good chef Pierre could be interested in them aswell

A sea prison, could be high security where the baddest of the bad are sent to (Murderers, rapist, drug traffickers and people who wear socks with flip flops) no bail opportunity so you have to do the time and the only way to break out Is with a boat nearby (maybe choppers but could be a bit op considering the speeds boats get to) obviously a way back to the land would be needed so now that magically ports you or my next idea

Sea taxis/Arac the help the good people of altis get by places taking the scenic route from kavala bay to many other docks ( salt trader, UNMC land so the UNMC can have a reason to use boats aswell now) and of course sea mechanics

Perhaps make clams a little more appealing, high chance to get or higher price or even increase boat trunk sizes

a bit more variety to the ship wrecks both legal and illegal ones including prices

Don't know how others feel about it but perhaps changing the treasury wrecks to actual gold bars not old gold bars, higher price higher interest perhaps?

 
A thing i think would be fucking amazing is to add antique wine to the boat wrecks. maybe you could find the rare "1856 Cardoso" That sells for 500k? or a case of a rare "1904 Ciaran" That sells for 250k?
