Yesterday I was sent off the server due to trolling.

I can't remember so much of what was going on, but I spawned in in Kavala, and walked a little bit around. I saw this group of people, I think it was two to three civilians and a cop? I talked a bit with the most of people there, a guy, what ever name he had, was being restrained etc. Well, further on, this other guy was being restrained, I really can't remember what I said, but something about candy(!) in some time. This officer (Ed Williams (?)) which had a different gear-look than other officers, restrained me and asked if I knew what trolling was. I answered "maybe", and got the respond of "so you know what it is" and then the following "well, say goodbye to the community" or something, and was ban/kicked out of the server.

Now, what's up there is not 100% correct, not at all, but it is what I can remember.

Well, I won't blame on anyone else than me, because it is my own fault, and I regret, but, I must say, I really thought you got warnings in form of voice or text, maybe a kick before a ban?

I know there rules, and know that it is wrong to troll, and I'm sorry. I would like to have another chance to play at this community, and this gave me a punch about whats wrong and not, even if I myself would say it wasn't worth a ban without a warning, or a temp. ban.

There are warnings in the rules (which are available in-game on the Map screen menus), warnings in the forums in the rules sections, and (as of recently) warnings in-game via the regular schedule messages in chat

There is also the well-publicised fact that we are a SERIOUS ROLEPLAY server, which is kinda our thing (see the top of this screen, even).

We ban instantly and (in most cases) permanently, simply because we don't have time to wipe people's arses and handhold them if they are being destructive, distracting or damaging to the community. We just throw them out. Sometimes the more 'salvageable' people (like yourself, maybe) come on to the forums and grovel a bit, and show that they realise their mistake and plea for forgiveness. Sometimes we do.

The real idiots and trolls never come back, and never bother to appeal in the forum, so banning them forever was 100% the most efficient thing to do. It's a waste of time to try reasoning with those sorts, we figure, so the insta-perma-ban works fine here. If we ban for 10mins or 1hr, sometimes it achieves nothing, except gives the admins more work when the fool comes back and does it again straight away.

Meanwhile, the rest of the community who *hate* trolls, thank us for insta-perma-banning, and they know why we do it - it works. It's only 'perma' if the guy is a real idiot, and worthy of it.

Give me your BATTLEYE GUID (not your steam/arma3 id) and your IP address, and I will consider unbanning you when I have some spare time. Which may not be today.
