We need more scrapping!

So, I guess alot of you will see me as a douchebag for saying this but... we need to scrap more vehicles! Lately, looking at the leaderboards and at gangs in general, there is so much money. There is people like me who has well over 100 million and even people who has over 200 million (!!). In order to combat this disease of wealthy people, scrapping is necessary!

If things keep going like they do now, very soon 90% of us will sit on mountains of gold with 15 hurons and 15 jets each. It is so easy to make money once you're established and in a gang on this server. Millions can be made in an hour. And with the new, low prices for 10 days a month, someone can play on the server for one restart and buy and ifrit and a fully outfitted Mk18, which used to be a status of not extreme wealth, but atleast some.

I am not saying we should scrap a zamak doing copper, I am saying we should scrap HEMMTs when there is 8 of them and 10 armed rebels guarding them.

Of course money is not the point of Altis Life, but it is a kind of fuel and gives a purpose to things.

So get out there people, and scrap ifrits and HEMMTs! 

 
I just scrapped 6 trucks at weed processing, does that count?

 
I Scrapped Kaden for Scrapping a Huron, surely that makes it all fair in the world?

That's just the way the economy works on this server.

Those who are already rich, will find it easier and easier to get richer.
You can scrap 2 of my trucks, but it only takes me 30 minutes with a Huron to make that money back to buy another two...

The economy needs a serious looking at if the admins think that people being that rich is a problem.

I have to agree with Ash here. A few months back it was high risk, high reward....nowadays it is just reward. I'm not sure the monthly half price scheme is helping this in all honesty.

Exactly. It is still very hard if you are on your own, and new. But once you are in a gang or have been playing for awhile, money comes so easy. If you have 300 in the weed profession, you can complete a weed run with a HEMMT in 30 minutes. That is ridiculous.

 
The more i think we should have some kind of wipe on the framework, everyone poor again splitting money to afford a low ass chopper :p

Criminals beware, am going to hunt those vehicles u r using illegally. 

 
Instead of scrapping vehicles, there could be other methods implemented to reduce the funds of the wealthy.

High bank balance - Once a figure has been reached for someone's bank balance a monthly tax % could be deducted. This percentage could increase depending on how much money was in the bank account.

Property - A lot of the wealthy people in Altis own multiple properties, this would allow for a charge to the owner.  It could be rent, mortgage, tax, maintenance.  Would make some people think twice about the properties.

Vehicles - Again garages are full of so many vehicles, with no storage costs, no maintenance.  Want to have 20 vehicles, whilst paying to store them all?

Just some ideas, I have had in some conversations about the rich getting richer.

Good ideas, makes it more immersive and a way to reduce the high rollers bank accounts.

If they implement tax for bank accounts I demand they implement swiss bank accounts too ;P

 
I don't see why PCs can't scrap vehicles anyway. I mean if we are an PC we just have to ask permission from a Sgt like an SPC does then it can be scrapped, I've caught several vehicles carrying drugs like this and been unable to do much about them keeping the vehicle since I am limited to impounding.

However to cover those with huge amounts of vehicles, why not add a daily storage and maintenance surcharge? So each vehicle has an initial cost, but also then a charge every day for storing them? So a HEMMT costs £550k, it wouldn't be much to ask for a £20k daily charge. It doesn't on its own make a huge impact, but it will start taking money out of the economy at least. Then charges for jets etc can of course be much higher proportionately.

If there was some form of daily tax, perhaps 5% per day for everything above £10m? Somebody with £30m therefore would lose £1m that night, which is a decent amount and will ebb away at the advantages they have when they can buy helis and a convoy worth of trucks.
