Voice recognition as an IC mechanic

So a little backstory, my character has been alive for a long time now, and in this life outside of VDM/RDM (Which isn't counted against NLR to my knowledge) i've encounted and been robbed by the same bandit multiple times, who has introduced himself both times. Within the bounds of the rules, having heard their voice on multiple occasions can i use that recognition of their voice IC'ly as part of interactions with them, despite not knowing their face due to their mask. My point is if that person approached me alone again to rob me, and upon hearing a voice i know trying to rob me for a third time, will i be justified from a Server rules perspective, of engaging them in combat without having the burden of having a talk/negotiate with  them, or would i have to give them a chance to talk about things before i pull a gun on them without risking a RDM ban. And again from a server rules perspective if i caught them robbing someone else could i roleplay it off as "I recognise you, your X from before" before shooting them, without any other warnings. Again this is not looking at a police law perspective, i mean from a server rules getting banned perspective.

No that would still be VDM, you have to interact with a player before you are allowed to kill them. Saying you know somebody by their voice, face, or otherwise is considered bad RP.

Absolutely, under no circumstances, can you shoot somebody without first engaging in RP.

*RDM actually, but my point stands how is it "Bad RP" to have a personal connection to another person, i mean as in not shooting them right off the bad, i mean as in being able to put myself in a combat standing with them the second i hear their voice instead of the whole "oh look a bandit and i'm a civ i have to let him state his intentions" if my character has an IC knowledge of this person and their behaviour give me a good IC reason why i shouldn't immediately be on the defensive. The point isn't circumventing RP it's being able to shut down the general behaviour of someone you know is a known bandit without giving them the benefit of the doubt that most RP situations afford them.

Definitely not in all cases, but in ad, because that character may have died while you have been away and is now being portrayed by kids/grand kids under the same name, so you would not recognise their voice. It depends how well you know the person and how much they are willing to let that story slide. If a friend came up to me and told me they recognised me I'd be lIle, oh hey friend!

But if it was some random I'd met before for 30 seconds who just used the excuse to meta game me I'd consider it bad RP.
