Vehicle Dealerships selling by Brand not by Category

Here we go,

dealerships currently sell 2 category vehicles, be it coupes and compacts, sport & supers etc. with the loss of import vehicles some dealerships have continued business as usual, others sadly are only able to sell unwanted vehicles by putting in hours of effort for 1 sale a day if any. and no one wants to stand still for hours posting on tweedle in the hopes 1 or 2 people come by cause that's the reality at some.

My suggestion is then can we not sell specific brands instead of specific categories.

Just Example's:

Benefactor & Luxury sell Benefactor cars as inside Luxury there is a sponsor bord for the brand and Benefactor legit is named after it.

Premium Deluxe Motorsport & Otto's sell The Dinka & Ubermacht brands etc.

It could be cool to let car dealerships come up with what brands they want to sell to show the City who they want to be as a dealership personality instead of being assigned one.
Of course in colabiration with the goverment for fair dealings.

I agree totally with this, i genuinely dont think it should be type based anymore and just all cars are split between all dealerships giving them all a fair opportunity and make it more fair for all after imports are gone

I think it definitely needs changing up, but I think it's probably best to wait and see what happens with all the current imports. If they get replaced, you could end up with a lot of good vehicles in dealerships.
That said, if it's being changed it shouldn't be based on brand in my opinion, I think it would be better to consider changing which categories each dealership has - for example, change Mosleys to sports + SUV, give muscle to Ottos etc... to better balance things. Otherwise, you come against the issue of the likes of Custom Motorcycles or Autoshop Motorcycles potentially selling sports cars which makes no sense at all. Yeah it would probably benefit those dealerships, but then you have biker gangs selling sports cars... changing the categories to make it more balanced, rather than brands because it will still be unbalanced that way.

I see where your coming from but those 2 shops wouldnt be given cars as its clear its a bike shop. Just like the pedal bike shop if this was to happen wont begin selling suvs

Makes it more most dealerships in the UK. You go into a if you want a new Jaguar you go to a Jaguar dealership. Mercedes if you want a mercedes. Only dealerships that shouldn't be limited are 2nd hand dealerships such as Mirror Park Motors as they buy already owned cars.

For this it's a big +1 and will make it fair on other dealerships who have lost custom due to most of their in demand stock being imports

While I get where you’re coming from - all that does is make the issue of going with brands worse. For example Anne said give Ottos Dinka and something else. If you take any all the bikes, boats etc… Dinka has like 9-10 cars that’s in the server.

I personally just think, if anything, a rebalance of the categories would be better suited.

I think this is a pretty good idea when you consider the likes of Ottos and Hardwick. Realistically, both have sufficiently large ranges that were negatively affected by imports being removed. Now both have 3-4 decent cars that are for normal sales, and then the rest going to auction due to them being the selling point and money maker for the whole rarity and limited range vehicles.

But the one exception (other than second hand as prior stated), would be Bosh's as realistically its a trucking / commercial vehicle sales place, and that category would be quite messy say Vapid (I,E, Tow Trucks, Slam trucks, speedo's etc) was given entirely to them, it shuts off a large base of the off-roading vehicles (contender) from Beekers. Or the Dominator from Mosleys etc-. It'd be good to have the switch around, and also give life to a few vehicle dealerships. (Or even, Lost Slamvan which would be an entirely different issue) and so many more since it is a HUGE brand within the game.

But, with the consideration of bike shops, it'd be quite good to keep those the same. I.e. TFA -> Sports, Lost -> Choppers/Lowriders etc.

+1

I agree, it seems that some dealerships have been hit harder than others by the import ban and so a reshuffle may be in order.

This could also be a good opportunity to make it clearer what each dealership actually sells.

Being relatively new to the city, it's still quite confusing figuring out where the cars I'm interested in would be sold (e.g. the Benefactor dealership doesn't sell any of the Benefactor saloon cars).

Personally I'd lean towards keeping categories rather than brands for the most part, but could see either approach (or a combo of the two) working just fine. My main concern in this regard is that the names should reflect what is actually sold there (e.g. if there is a Benefactor dealership, then it should logically sell all Benefactor cars and nothing else).

+1

I like the sound of this but again I believe categories would be better
(Ottos-muscles,compacts)
(Mosleys-sports,suv)
(Harwick-classic,super)
(benefactor-benefactor vehicles)
(Luxury-sports,super)
(Beekers-4x4,classic muscles)
(Pdm-compacts,suv)
(Del perro- super,suv)

Also add new motorcycles there is loads that could be added !
