UNMC Territory

So from what I understand UNMC territory is not considered to be a part of the Altis government's jurisdiction.

Does that mean that off-duty cops can go over there and do things that would be considered illegal in the other side of the island?

It would be stupid if UNMC could arrest us and penalize us outside of their jurisdiction, for example: They can catch us in their territory and do whatever they want in that side of the fence, but unless I'm mistaken it will carry no weight at all in the other side of the border, right?

So if I decided to get a group of people together and just raise all sorts of hell in UNMC territory with all sorts of illegal (in the Altis side of the fence) things, that would carry no consequence or relevance to the APD right?

Not sure, since I know the UNMC fellas like people who do the legal stuff in their territory more so than the illegal ones. I think it'd be in both sides interest if things carried over, so both factions could weed out malicious criminals; but i really dont know sadly. I'd like to know *hint* sovereign

Well the UNMC can go ahead and dislike it, they have the authority to do what they want in their territory. But things should not carry over simply because UNMC have no authority in Altis, and the APD has no authority in UNMC land. UNMC has threatened that if anyone from APD goes over to UNMC while on-duty, the officer in question will be banned (or maybe it was just an APD mandate, I heard this from a CSI, either way the effect is the same).

My curiousity is stemming from the fact that when we go off-duty as cops, we are nothing but targets. When we go On-duty, we are nothing but targets (bar the few higher ranking officers who can actually contend with the rebels as far as firepower goes). I know that even in the rebel side of things people who use the "easy" guns are called noobs because their guns take no skill to use, but the fact is that the police have no such options, they Have to use the 1 or 2 guns allowed to them, which often results in people with "easy" guns raping the shit out of people with shit guns.

Frankly, I'm getting tired of logging in as APD, having to deal with a shitload of trolls and griefers, or having to deal with rebels that are clearly better equipped than us. All rebels know by now that if they have someone watching the area from 800~ meters out, the cops can do fuck-all about the situation (except for those high ranking officers who can access the proper equipment).

I'd like to be able to do something other than get fucked, as I'm pretty sore and have been dealing with it because I thought that maybe it was just me... but it's pretty clear to me now that any group of rebels that realize the APD's armament constraints can get away with anything (assuming they aren't stupid anyhow).

If I could join a group of folk and perform "black-ops" extraduty missions in a foreign territory where my government has no (officially) idea that is going on, then that would enable a whole new venue for RP as a police officer (however off-duty we may be).

When I go off duty I've tried holding up my peach business, but quite frankly it's gotten boring as shit. Nobody ever buys my peaches (well, thanks to the 3 of you guys who have), and when there are only 4-5 cops online, there is nothing we can do RP wise because everyone else is doing illegal shit in groups and will destroy the few cops (specially considering that they will *Always* out-gun us). I can count the times where I've been in an RP situation with someone who's running drugs and Hasn't just opened fire on me in one hand... "because drugs are involved" apparently gives them the green-light to just shoot at us, even though the cops are Never able to say the same, considering we don't know drugs are involved until we RP it and search/find them.

It always results in a situation where the rebels tell us to leave or they'll kill us, in the end we have to ignore them and go chase after speeders and other non-sense like that (there is only so much traffic law enforcement RP a man can take).

Sorry for the rant... I'm still feeling a little sore from the recent trollfest, and every time I try to RP (recently anyhow), it's resulted in more grief. I would just like to level out the playing field, I feel like I've had one of my hands tied behind my back because I joined the APD, and It remains tied behind my back when I go off duty.

Again, sorry for the rant, Here's some consolation tits for making it this far:

P.S.

I would have posted this in the police forums, but apparently I don't have permission to go there so o_O.

Let me clarify a few things.

-Everything carries over between both sides for simplicity and in RP neither side recognizes either group's legality, jurisdiction, or authority.

"UNMC has threatened that if anyone from APD goes over to UNMC while on-duty, the officer in question will be banned (or maybe it was just an APD mandate, I heard this from a CSI, either way the effect is the same)."
-We have said no such thing. Maratek has however stated that he wants nobody to go into our territory without permission.

-We treat off-duty police as civilians. If your referring to the Apple Embargo Event today, things were exploding and you brought peaches to an apple sale so we called you a terrorist since you stated at the moment the event started the peach coalition were unhappy. It was rather funny. If you don't believe me ask Capo he did the same thing.(Great RP btw.)

-The weapon restrictions have always existed for low ranks due to an RP focus.(Imagine blueberries with proper guns.) When cops start being blueberries they progressively get better access to weapons. Once you get an MX variant your adaptable at any range. If you truly feel like you require a greater arsenal petition your superiors to make changes. A very long time ago CSOs had silenced MXs with Nightstalker scopes.(No joke.) We've come a long way since then.

Nice tits.That is all.

...thing is, that as an SPC the "best" gun I can get is a vermin (ok for short distances... issue here is long range accuracy + stopping power).

As far as I can see MX's aren't as available as they used to be, I only see the higher ranks with anything useful (Don't recall what sgt's have access to at the moment, but the majority of the police force is restricted to shit guns, we have to rely on the higher ranks to not only be online, but also be able to respond in a timely manner or we will get rekt).

What I'm trying to get at is that the majority of the police force is useless because we have to rely on the higher-ups being online, and usually when they are they are spread so thin that as a police for going against rebel groups, the result is usually an anal pounding where the APD is catching (I'm sure some of them enjoy it, but still...).

P.s. nah, it wasn't related to the apples event.

P.p.s.  You haven't heard/seen the last of the Peach coalition.

I think those days should come back.
In these times police could be shot on sight in a city with a rebel license(Later rephrased to training.) and the rebel license only gave us access to the TRG,Katiba and Rahim.(Yes, we only had three guns for many months.) This was a violent imbalance. Would you change your mind if that all came back now?

Sounds like they solved the imbalance by simply changing the side who it favors...

If we both had the armaments to stand a chance in an encounter, I would certainly change my mind.  But as it is the Rebels have/do treat the cops as KOS whenever there are drugs involved, so it really does sound to me like they just switched roles and put the police in the same position the rebels were in beforehand.

I don't think rebels and police should Ever be KOS (red zones aside).  But at the moment whenever there are drugs involved they just open fire on us before we even know there are drugs involved. My experience is usually one where I approach a situation with my gun not even raised, I ask people what they are doing in the area as it's a known drug area, then I either get knocked out and ziptied or just killed on the spot without any RP at all. And they always respond the same way: "drugs are involved".

I didn't know drugs were involved until they said that, so if they can truly use that as an excuse, wtf am I supposed to do when there are only 2-3 officers around and 5+ rebels watching the area + 1 sniper hiding somewhere?  Even if we did co-ordinate things, we would still be using shit guns vs a bunch of well armed rebels, and we would only have a couple of minutes to form a plan and respond since we don't know that these guys are running drugs until they actually pull up to the drug dealers (unless we're supposed to just metagame like crazy that is...).

I just feel that the deck is stacked against us, and I'm tired of being a traffic cop.

I think that the PCSOs should get a Mk20 with rubber bullets and for a lethal get a pistol.

I think the lower ranked police officers should get a course in how do i use my weapon?

That will solve alot of problems
