Underground Fighting League - Thoughts and ideas

Cutter

Well-known member
Hey folks, I came up with this idea a long time ago that I'd like to finally give it a try, that is a combat orientated league focused on 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and 5v5 highly illegal organised fights in various locations for money, glory or as a means of settling disputes, with myself and hopefully the Miners (I may not have discussed this with them yet) as mediators of the combat and administrators of the league.

This is simply going to involve a proper forum post (once I've figured out the loose ends) where people can submit their teams, which we will then add into a spread sheet document. Teams can then challenge other teams to combat via us in game, set up terms of money, arena and weapons (we'd like to have the default as a cheap assault rifle such as the TRG, but as long as both teams agree any weapon could be used) the winning team would take any agreed upon money, and points in the league. We'd like to add prize money per person on top of that but will have to iron out how much we could afford to put down every fight.

I'd love to hear thoughts on the idea, and suggestions on how we could run the league, should it be like a premiership football league where you gain points for victory/draws (as we could implement a time limit to avoid camping) and you can only play each team once/twice (home/away) a month and maybe have a season of 6 months, or maybe a monthly sign up with knockout league system with rounds until there is only one team left. I'd love to have an on going league either way, and just run it for fun, cash prizes or just as I say as a way of having a level playing field to settle disputes! Eventually I'd like to have a league specifically for gangs, but for now I'm trying to keep it simplish as trial run. Also should teams be of a limited size, say 5 players max, who can then part take in fights of any size with those team members?

The arenas for the combat will be predetermined areas we can fly people to, out of the way of the prying eyes of the police. Such as these lovely locations (if you have any other suggestions for locations let me know)

Speaking for the Montana Family; We don't mind, as long as you clean up the blood =)

Could we do this, or start, the first upcoming weekend?(Im coming on Arma then)

I really like the Idea. I can already imagine AR Busts and firefights or great RP between gangs to solve stuff this would keep Kavala calm a bit more [ Fingers Crossed ]

+1

Remember that the police counts this site as the "public" site of Altis,

So technically we can see it :p

A fantastic idea which could implement a lot of roleplay. You've got the opportunity to organise this and create some sort of gambling market around it which is fantastic. The problem however, is that you will have to set up like the street racers did in Fast and Furious 1. By this, I mean have people on lookout with radios to call it off. There isn't the "loyalty" here or the risk that there would be in real life, and it'd be far too easy for someone to call the Police.

What I'd also recommend, is really extending the Roleplay. Take phones off people, radios, have them arrived unarmed etc. Think of it like a business, have rules...if for example a TI member was against a...GC member, make sure that if a gang looks like it's about to lose, his friends aren't just gonna shoot up the place or call the Police themselves just to make sure they don't lose....

Great effort here Cutter. I wish you all the best with it.

What you think about that, there is people joining on this UFL that you send them messages on forums to players who is in the league and tell them the meeting point and rest of the thing is rp inside the server ?

I didn't think you guys would mind, we'll try not to make too much of a mess...

I have a lot of time off this week so I'm going to try and get it rolling, not the league proper but get some teams started and hopefully a few fights just as a test run for money and fun!

I hope to do most of the organisation of fights on TS or in game, so there shouldn't be much of a paper trail :)  unless someone gives you guys a tip off...

Yeah, I like the idea of having people strip to the bare bones really, just having a uniform, a weapon and a few mags possibly a bandolier to allow for more mags. Keeps it fair as well knowing nobody is going to start pulling out weapons from back packs they shouldn't have.

I'm not sure how we could go about gambling, as much as I'd love to do it as should be a large part of the illegal fighting scene, more eyes on the fight would mean more people we have to watch over, or who could potentially call the police, I intend on recording some of the fights from the air with the Hellcat, so could at least call in bets and have proof of the outcome without them having to be near the fight.

We as the organisers could also choose the arena if there is any issue with people calling the police, so there would be little time for a raid to happen with the arena being unknown to the participants until the last minute.

Yeah, even if teams don't have any one to challenge I hope they'll just give us a shout and say, we'd like to get a fight organised and we can look into who else is online even if we just find them randoms and do it for money rather than league points, get them on TS or meet up at the Miners base and sort out equipment and rules before flying off to the arena.
