Hey Sammy
Thank you for the reply,
First of all I want to apologize that my appeal comes across really poor and I can recognize that. This was quickly copypasted from discord and certainly rushed a bit too much.
Secondly, I want be as transparent as possible as I previously mentioned I've been here for a long time and I like to think I have enough common sense (most of the time) to know when to not cross certain boundries within the server. This was not one of these times, however I'd like to put some perspective if you don't mind.
In terms to the exploiting;
Aiming in 3rd person is natural to me, prior to joining this community around the beginning of 2021 I had spent countless hours and I'd estimate probably about 3 years of active playtime on GTA Online both in the heist and PvP scene both before and after classic sniper battles were disrupted by mk2 oppressors or explosive ammo. I don't want to go too deep into this but aiming is a crucial part of gameplay in GTA.
I've spent over a year worth of active playtime in this community, always aiming in 3rd person, mostly driving in 3rd person, mostly interacting in 3rd person etc.
I had a long hiatus about a year or more where I barely jumped on RPUK or just came to pay taxes, I actively started taking part of the community about 2 or 3 months ago prior to this incident.
I did notice when I came back at some point that you are now forced into 1st person when you aim in vehicles, never had an issue where I would accidently be in 3rd person when aiming or shooting.
As previously mentioned I only noticed this "3rd person exploit" I'd say not more than 5 days prior to this incident if that and obviously I knew it wasn't intended.
I never tried to replicate it, in fact I don't usually use weapons that can be shot from a vehicle, I didn't think to report it at the time as I figured it was one-off thing or must have been spotted or reported by somebody else already and to be honest I never had much presence on the forums etc., I don't engage in OOC chat in the city (it's disabled 99.9% of the time), I don't engage in the Groups discord etc. my success with any report or compensation request I ever made has not been the best so I mostly just deal with it in the city or through a ticket if it's urgent.
With the context already provided and I am happy to provide more context if needed as well just let me know - I think it's very clear to see I was not paying the upmost attention to the game at the time as it was quite early in the morning around 8-9am when I did the and I was kinda just there with the other two people that was with me at the time.
Pretty much after the server restart I went to sleep as I was rather tired and had been awake for a while.
When I woke up later that day I the announcement that was made I read it and never thought in a million years I would be banned when I tried to connect to the server.
I then after a while attempted to connect and was hit with this ban, immediately I remembered the fact that I accidently went into 3rd person when riding on the back of the vehicle as seen in the first clip I provided as this was pretty much the last thing that happened before I went to sleep and figured that must've been what was the cause for my ban. So I quickly went to review my session recording which is in 5-minute segments and found the clip where I did the exploit by aiming in 3rd person and provided this in the ticket that I had made at the time.
Obviously I didn't cause any harm or grief with this and clearly you can tell it was not something that was intentionally being abused or repetively trying to be abused, as you can see it just kinda happened as I pulled my weapon out to stay prepared. I did consider that it was odd I was aiming in 3rd person after it happened and as you see I aim briefly twice about 20-30s later just to see if everything is working as intended. - Obviously this turns out to not be the case for my ban.
In regards to the actual exploit of me shooting my weapon while in 1st person, I honestly didn't even realize I was doing something that was not intentional at the time. I don't know what else to really say, with the context provided you can see that about exactly ~9 minutes prior I pulled my weapon for just a split-second to scare a local about to simply avoid having any disruption to my activities, the exploit in question where I did shoot the local, you can see that I attempt to use the same tactic which I tend to employ of pulling your weaponing and aiming at them very quickly, only for me to put away my weapon again. However on this one instance at 8am in the morning while being there with my two buddies, this local did not react to me aiming my weapon at it, - so I took aim, took my time as my friend was in the crossfire and pulled the trigger when safe to do so, - that's about it.
With all this being said, I was shocked at the time of the ban but after looking through more footage of my morning I do understand how and why I am banned and I fully agree and believe that there should be a punishment for the crime that has been committed.
However I also believe in justice and fairness with all context provided I honestly don't believe the punishment fits the crime in this case.
Thanks for your time
