Unban Appeal for WN23

Reason given for your ban: G3.1- OOC Information & C2.1- Game modification

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I believe that I was banned as I spoke with another player who gave me the code to an apartment and was told that I could make some easy money from it as I was asking around about it, without realising at the that the player had gotten the information illegitimately.

Why should we unban you ?: I feel as if I should be unbanned as I feel that I did not break any rules. However, I understand that the code that I was given and used, was gained from outside sources and so when I used it, I could be convicted of using OOC information which at the time I was not aware of how he got the information.

I also would like to dispute the game modification accusation as I do not have any installed (other than maybe some singleplayer mods) and would be happy perhaps provide proof if necessary pertaining to this.

Also when asked about the code and how I got it, I did mention how it was another player who gave me his name which was Ian and that he was wearing a full black outfit and black Motorbike helmet .

I don't know what else I could say to help prove my innocence other than that I was naïve in trusting this player.

Thanks you for the reply, as I mentioned in a ticket (not sure if you have a transcript of said ticket), I met the player up in Paleto Bay and told me about ways of making some quick cash which I was asking about. He mentioned the Eclipse Towers apartments and the code to go with it, which I used a few hours later as well as a heist of sorts at lifeinvader where all I found was some blueprints as well as something al Lester's computer. 

I had not met this player before but assumed he had been in the city for a while as he was telling me this sort of information, he also mentioned a place to cook meth which I stumbled upon with a friend when driving around near Grapeseed. We did not call or text but just spoke in game chat.

As mentioned in my original post, the guy gave me the name of Ian as well as being dressed in an all black outfit with a black bike helmet (blacked out visor if it helps)

In your ticket, you had stated that you refuelled at the diner and spoke to someone who gave you said code. 
The only time you had refuelled in Paleto before using said code was at the main fuel station. This was around 6 hours before.

Your story doesn't add up?

 
As I had said in the ticket, I used the code after a while as I was doing some other stuff at the time, mainly selling some coke and taxi jobs. I understand how the timeline may seem a bit varied, but I was waiting to use the code in case my friend flew into the city so we could do it together, however due to the time at which I had decided to do it, he was no longer in the city so I did it myself.

Are you telling us the full truth here? I only ask this as the apartment hasn't been used in months and nobody would know the code to this so it is bizarre to us that you've managed to get hold of it from someone that you don't even know at all?

I'm not sure what else I can say. I'm telling you the truth and I'm not sure how the guy got the code. Like I said I bumped into the guy when I was asking people how to make quick cash. I chose Paleto as the Lost hang around there and was hoping to get a foot in work them potentially. I'm not sure what else I can say to prove this too you. Like I've also said, I'm willing to do a PC check if necessary as well.

The player had mentioned Eclipse Towers to you.
Had you been given the exact location / details or did you happen to stumble across that specific apartment yourself? 

 
He told me it was eclipse towers but not where the 3rd eye area was. It took me a minute or so to find that. He did set a waypoint for the meth lab, yet as mentioned  I had already stumbled upon that.

What I find curious is this sentence "without realising that the player had gotten the information illegitimately" - what makes you believe they did? 

 
When I spoke with the guy he said he had been in the city for a while and that is why I assumed it was legit. I don't go around saying all information is not legit. I didn't think the guy who showed me where to sell coke had gotten that illegitimately. I had also seen "hidden" stuff around the map which I didn't know what to do with so I didn't bat an eye at it.

 
Were you shown this "hidden" stuff by palette biker man?

I was not told about that the entrance location only that it was at eclipse towers so I walked around it with my third eye active to try and find it. Also not sure what you mean by pallete biker man, it was a guy on a bike in full black gear. Not sure if that's what you meant. The hidden thing was the code for eclipse towers, as well as a meth lab in grapeseed which me and a friend had stumbled on and then a computer at Lester's for a heist at lifeinvader. He only told me about them and did not show me.

 
So you say he gave you the code, where did you save this code? did he send you any message a note or how did you remember the code?

 
I didnt save the code on any devices if thats what you're asking, I remembered it as it was simple. However, I do not currently remember it as I didn't write it down and it has been over a month now.

 
Do you have any footage relating to this incident? Even if it's just a conversation about it?

 
Unfortunately not, as mentioned in the ticket, I did not clip the incident as I was not suspicious of the guy and the information seemed legit at the time as I was asking for ways of making money.

 
Alright then, I have no more questions and this shall remain a mystery I suppose.

If you ever meet this player that gave you the information I ask you open a ticket to inform us.
