In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: In my opinion I am banned for not knowing as much information needed to help find out more information with the current situation going on with a certain video that was released by an ex gang member, therefore leading to the staff decision that I am non compliant in helping or somewhat protecting the creator of the video.
Why should we unban you ?: Firstly, I will start off my appeal by simple saying how I am incredibly confused but also saddened by this entire situation, it is still a lot to process, and i expect the victims of this video feel the exact same, and i really do hate that something like this could even happen to anyone in this community and for that i can only feel sorry for victims and hope this entire situation can be resolved quickly for them.
Now, i will like to state clear as day and as plain as it gets, i had no involvement , no say , nothing absolutely nothing to do with this video, and i feel like this is why i feel like i at least have to try and appeal as deep down i know that i really haven't done anything to contribute to the damage that video has and will cause.
If i knew a video of such kind was being created i would've been left with no choice but to report it to staff, but the only time I ever saw that video before the stream was when it was a 3-4 minute video that was literally a edit of a COD mission with 229 names over COD characters and then a few photos. I cant speak for the whole of 229 and ex 229, but I'm pretty sure practically everyone was under the impression that it was going to be a frag montage/end of 229 type videos with funny clips and kill clips. I really don't think i can even speak much on the video as i am in the same boat as basically everyone who watched it, i watched it , my jaw dropped at the same time as everyone else's and then I moved on from it, I was shocked / disappointed , worried about the backlash, so after the stream was taken down, i done what i was doing all day that day, carried on playing tarkov.
later on after that video was posted, Myself and a few other ex 229 and close friends of 229 were all called into TS, at the time of receiving this message, Me , Gekz, Bas and our tarkov friend called Jeff, were all in a VC playing tarkov together all of us were called into TS at the same time (excluding jeff) at this time bas went for dinner and said he would join after. Before joining TS i put a message into the 229 discord (which the creator of the video was still in) saying I've just been called into TS and 2 other ex members said they were also called, personally i thought it was just going to be staff telling us if this video is ever spoke about , spread about, or sent around that we would all receive bans, which in my is completely justifiable.
So me gekz and cal (another ex 229) joined the waiting room in TS and we all got dragged into a VC with multiple other staff at the same time, We were saying hello to each other when Liam pointed out he heard a discord stream sound through someone's microphone and he asked if anyone is streaming to stop it, i personally didnt hear it but i also knew that neither me or gekz were streaming as we were still in the tarkov discord but deafened. "Bas" then ended up getting dragged into the TS and after that staff started talking about the video and the process of what is going to happen with the video creator, i dont really know if i should type this in the appeal or not but im sure staff who were in that call will recall the conversation, after staff stated about the consequences and actions they are taking on the video creator, we then actually heard the video creator started speaking, i was really confused as to how i was hearing his voice since he wasnt in the TS and he isnt in our tarkov server plus i was deafened, they assumed it was gekz mic so the quickly banned him for the TS and it turned out the video creator used bas' name to get into the call since he knew from the 229 server that we had been called. i can only assume he saw bas wasnt in there and took that as his opportunity to get in. I understand staffs view on this thinking i could've planned for that to happen since bas and i are in a relationship and i was in a server with the video creator, but to me that sounds to far from the truth, why would i risk myself and my partner getting banned over something we both had no involvement in. Liam also asked me for screenshots of me saying that i have been called to TS, but at somepoint during the convo either the server was deleted or i was kicked, im not to sure and dont really care to message to find out why since im sure the intentions to what ever they done were done without thinking about the backlash being caused to people who have no involvement in this situation.
After long talks with staff , mostly Liam, staff were basically convinced they heard the sound from either me or gekz, after being given the ultimatum , either tell them who was streaming or get 1.6ed, we were both given no option to get banned as we both 1000% knew neither of us were streaming as we were literally in the same call we had been in for the past 7-8 hours playing tarkov with eachother.
Now i fully understand taking safety precautions, but i also know that i am simply caught in the crossfire of this entire situation and to me it doesnt seem fair to be stripped of my privileges of being able to play in this community that ive been super active in for over a year now for 6 months.
Since the bans of jack and Rhys, i have left 229 with my brother, rock, and joined apostles were i have alot of close friend in game and OOC, it was my chance to prove that not all 229 were there to frag out or shoot anyone at any given chance, and the time i spent with the apostles shown me how playing the server in a different way/mindset can re-light the fun i had been missing out on with constant waring and fighting of 229. Since most of 229 have gone to other gangs or just stop playing in total, we have all naturally started distancing ourselves from each other, and i can only imagine this distance will progress even further after recent events, i can personally say i have no intention of allowing anyone who has the capacity to damage so many people out of the game to be a friend of mine, that is completely unacceptable.
I understand that situation like this are not taking lightly , as they should, but i would love to be able to prove my innocence and prove that I do deserve to be allowed in the community, in the TS with staff i basically said all there was to say from me since i an outsider to this entire situation , i dont know much of anything to do with it, i only know my side and my side only. i would be willing to chat with staff again in TS or discord if given the chance, but i really felt like i had to make an appeal to just show that i am invested in this community and i will do anything to help as much as i can to help resolve this situation.
I hope reading after reading this appeal , you can ask more questions or have a decent chat with me instead of an on the spot decision to i can really show how serious i am about this situation.
