Ban ID (just the numbers): 17387
Ban Reason: C2.2 (Exploiting)
Why do you think you were banned: I was caught in the 3rd person shooting ban wave 9 months ago.
Why should we unban you: I would now like to apologise to anyone I may have affected by gaining an unfair advantage due to exploiting the 3rd person shooting mechanic. I can't fully remember on each occasion I used it but i'm going to be as honest as possible. I can remember using it when my gang were in conflict with Grove, Mostly to shoot out tyres & occasionally shooting to kill. I can now see how my actions would negatively affect the server and scenarios which others were involved with me. I started using this exploit after finding out many others were using it, I know 2 wrongs don't make a right but I stupidly jumped on the bandwagon. During my time here I have always tried to play fair and i'm disappointed I let my standards slip this time and as i've said I can only apologise to anyone who's experience I may have ruined.

Up until now I've tried to keep a clean record and if i'm given another chance I will hold myself to a high standard, whether that be my roleplay or my understanding and following of the server and community rules.

I've used the 9 months i've been away from the server to reflect on my actions and understand why such rules are in place. Going forward, If I was to stumble upon anything that could be exploited or any bugs, I would ensure to make staff aware.

I know i've broken trust this time which will obviously take time to repair, But I can promise if given a second chance I don't plan on being on this side of the forums and making this a habit.

If allowed back I don't intend to be involved in gunfights and would like to see how my RP progresses without being in a whitelisted gang.

The reason I have copied my previous appeal is because I felt like I put a lot of effort into it explaining my actions but the timing on the appeal wasn't right.

Again, Thanks for taking the time to deal with my appeal.
Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

Thank you for taking the time to make an appeal @Swayhh

So explain why this was the case? How can we even be sure that you won't simply follow again over thinking for yourself?

Few things to unpack here and questions to be answered. You say you will hold yourself to a higher standard, Why wasn't this the case before and why didn't you simply do this from the start?

You've also said you have had a clean record upto now, Not exactly true in the sense as around a month prior to the ban you did receive multiple warnings, Powergaming, G1.11.2 (Temporary Groups), G11.5. This goes onto the question, Why wasn't you following the warnings we provided and simply followed the rules then? What's changed?

I've used the 9 months i've been away from the server to reflect on my actions and understand why such rules are in place.
I'd like you to explain the rules you've been banned for and what your understanding of this rule is please.

Hi @Stuart,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I'm a firm believer that you learn from your mistakes, And I've been banned long enough to learn from my mistakes and understand why I had received the time away from the server.

I'm not gonna bullshit you with the "I've changed blah blah", I got really immersed in the gang life and although I provided high quality roleplay in most interactions, I let the competitive nature take over to some degree and kind of adopted the mentality "by any means necessary" which I should've known better.

I'd like you to explain the rules you've been banned for and what your understanding of this rule is please.
Power gaming - My understanding of this rule is forcing a situation to go one way regardless of any roleplay the other party provides.

Temporary groups - I understand why this rule is in place as it keeps things fair and equal and stops large groups of people zerging against other members of the community therefor then creating an unpleasant experience.

Exploiting - This rule is in place to stop people abusing bugs found in the game mechanics to gain unfair advantages and again potentially ruining the immersion of other members of the community and essentially ending any further chance of high quality roleplay.

Whilst I do agree people can learn from mistakes why has it taken a permanent ban with a lengthy time away for this to become the realization?

I agree it's best not to bullshit and be up front and honest with us in general. Now being immersed in the gang life is something many people do and have done, Still provided quality roleplay and not ended up in the situation you have found yourself in. I feel there is more too it than just adapting the "Gang life" and I'd like to dig deeper into that and find out why.

Whilst I understand being competitive we also must ensure everyone is on the same playing field and following our rules that we have to ensure this.

Lets say for a moment you are back on the server and you end up in a gang, How can we be assured this or something similar won't happen again because of this "Competitive nature" or by following others?

Why didn't you come to us and discuss before doing what you have been banned for i.e asking "Hey I've noticed X is it alright" ?

Furthermore, What have you been doing during the time of your ban?

Hi @Stuart, Hope you are well.

I never really fully understood what the impact of my actions would be to the server at the time, And after a lengthy ban I can assure you I don't want to be back in this boat.

How can we be assured this or something similar won't happen again because of this "Competitive nature" or by following others?
I now further understand the rules & the negative effect breaking them could have. And again, after been away for so long I can guarantee I don't want to be on this side of the forums again.

Why didn't you come to us and discuss before doing what you have been banned for i.e asking "Hey I've noticed X is it alright" ?
I guess it was slight ignorance on my part and I was just being farce when using the exploit which I do regret and now realise I definitely should have made staff aware, in order to find a fix and further benefit the rest of the community.

Furthermore, What have you been doing during the time of your ban?
After putting so much time into RPUK being banned kinda killed my motivation to play PC although I tried other games but been away from GTA/FiveM in general. More time away from my PC has been refreshing, As this has allowed me to get out more and used this time to learn how to drive.

Thanks for the speedy reply again!
