Unban Appeal - suwu - GTA RP

suwu

Los Santos Police
Los Santos Police
Location
Scrapyard

Server: GTA RP
Character Name: Shei Tiang
Steam ID: 76561198115510029
Ban ID (just the numbers): 19779
Ban Reason: C2.3 - Combat Logging
Why do you think you were banned: Last month on 02/02/2025 I was delivering some food late at night on my new character Shei Tiang, it was around 3:30am when I lost control of my rented delivery moped and hit a wall, causing me to come off of the moped and become incapacitated. Shortly after this I logged out.
Why should we unban you: Good afternoon all,

I would first like to explain my reasoning for the above actions, it was very late at night and I was getting tired, so I figured I would log out and wait the time to bleed out next time I logged on. In hindsight this was a stupid mistake to make as it comes across easily as logging out to log back in later and hope the NHS can save me, this was under no circumstances my intention however. This was an honest mistake but I realise that does not excuse my actions in this situation. The reason I thought it was safe to log out is I was not in active scenario, nor had I been for several hours, it was just me, my moped and spotify, thus I figured this wouldn't break the rule and I could get to sleep a bit earlier and deal with it the next day. I understand now that being downed in any situation whatsoever counts as "while dead awaiting a medic" as per C 2.3 and I apologise that I was not aware of this, I don't believe I pressed R to alert the NHS and as it was 3:30am I figured there would be none online anyway, but that isn't an excuse.

Over the time I have been unable to play on the server I have reflected on my actions and would like to highlight my view of what the C2.3 rule really means to prove that I do understand the mistake I made.
C2.3 - Combat logging is an essential rule within our community that prevents people from ruining others RP as well as gaining possible advantages, such as logging out when being taken hostage or when injured and awaiting NHS treatment. This rule is one of the most important within our community as it upholds the great standard of RP we hold ourselves to and I am ashamed to have broken it myself. In future I will never log out again while injured and I will always be 100% sure I am not engaged in any active scenario as to not impact the RP of others. Along with this I have taken another read through of all the rules to ensure I am up to date with what each of them are and mean.

I am hoping to be unbanned as this was a lapse of judgement that I made late at night on my own and I accept full responsibility for it. I apologise to anyone I may have effected by logging out and I regret my actions heavily as now my player record will be forever tarnished and I have missed out on a month of good nights and funny moments as well as having been disappointed in myself for taking all these things away from myself, however I have accepted what has happened and understand not to do it again. As a member of the community for over 4 years who has never been banned or even reported I would hate for this simple mistake to end my time within the community, if I am lucky enough to be unbanned I will look to provide increasingly better RP as I have some great plans for two of my current characters and would really like to see them come into fruition.

Thank you for taking the time to read this,

-Adam
Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

Good afternoon @suwu

I hope you're well.

This was certainly a very stupid lapse in judgement. It was a simple situation that could've been avoided had you waited 10 minutes.

You've clearly reflected on the rule and how to ensure compliance in the future, but what about our other rules? Combat logging is a simple rule to comprehend, especially for someone who has been here for four years.

Have you reviewed the rules since your ban?
Upon review, have you noticed any gaps in your knowledge?
Hypothetically, if you are unable to remain on the server whilst incapacitated, what steps can you take to prevent a ban?

Good afternoon @Scott,

I am well thank you, it's Friday so I'm nearly done working for the week! How about yourself?

I agree, it was a very stupid lapse or judgement. Looking back the extra 10 minutes of YouTube in bed were not worth it.

Since I've been unable to play I have reread through all of the rules to ensure I never end up on this part of the Forum again.

Upon review I can't say I have noticed any gaps in my knowledge except this rather large one regarding combat logging, but I am confident I am up to date on them.

In future if I am unable to remain connected while downed, or should I lose connection/power while down I would open a ticket in discord asap and inform staff of what has happened and try to reconnect asap if possible.

Thank you for your time and reading through my appeal.

Good evening @suwu

I am good, thank you.

You've had a very clean record in your four years here; unfortunately, you've now stained that record, which should always serve as a permanent reminder of your mistakes and, hopefully, keep you on the right path moving forward.

I doubt you will end up back here, but if you do, the excuse of 'Oh, I didn't know', 'I misunderstood this', or any excuse along those lines will not be accepted. You have been here for four years. You have now been banned, and you have clearly stated that you know the rules. If you are uncertain at any point, I urge you to create a ticket with staff, and if you are ever unsure in the moment, simple advice, don't do it.

Finally, any bans you receive within the next six months will automatically be a permanent ban.

You've been granted a second chance; don't waste it.

UNBANNED
