Why do you think you were banned: I was banned because I used the n-word whilst sending my mate an SMS in game. This word was not used in a racist way rather than as a replacement of the word homie or bro. I am mixed race and this word is a word that I use with my mates naturally day-to-day. However I now understand that even in that sense it is against server and RP rules and I take full responsibility for my actions and apologize for any inconvenience and discomfort.
Why should we unban you: I understand now that even in a friendly manner words like this one have no place and I deeply regret my actions. Furthermore, this is my first (and will be my last) offense. I have not had any run-ins with staff before. Additionally, I have only played for two days and have really enjoyed my time at roleplay.co.uk and have tried my absolute hardest to contribute to my best of ability to the roleplay within the server at all times.

How can you assure me this won't happen again? As stated by yourself, this is a word used naturally daily.
All I can do here is be concerned that this "natural" flowing word is going to slip out at some point?

I assure it will not happen again. The same way I do not swear at work I will not use words that are not appropriate at roleplay.co.uk. I assumed that using this word specifically in a friendly manner would have been okay which was stupid.

I have now read the rules much more thoroughly and familiarised myself with them. Additionally, I was only playing roleplay.co.uk for two days and it instantly became a part of my daily routine as the enjoyment I got out of it was unlike any other game/server I've played for a long long time. I've definitely missed roleplay.co.uk since the ban and I can confidently say I have learnt my lesson from this.

I assure you should I be given another chance I will conduct myself in a more serious and non-explicit manner.

Why has it taken for you to receive a permanent ban to then go ahead and read the rules?
Upon making your character, you ticked to agree that you've read and understand them all, I only assume you hadn't bothered?

Hello @Danoo, thank you for the quick response, I really appreciate it.

To be completely honest, prior to the ban I 'skimmed' the rules rather than taking the time to read them in detail, I truly apologise for this mistake that has lead to this situation. Furthermore, I had only ever played one RP server which did not have much implemented to protect players from abuse, which I have now stopped playing as this led to a toxic community. I truly enjoyed playing roleplay.co.uk with my mates and in order to prevent any future problems or mistakes from occurring which will limit my ability to play this great server, I have now spent a good deal of time going through the both the rules and the community rules and made sure to pay attention to individual rules so that I can understand them fully. Doing this, has helped me understand the severity of my actions and removed any likeliness that this would re-occur.

What are the backstories to said characters?

In regards to your my character:

I would be looking to play my character: Sean Tudor

Sean comes a rich background and was a “posh” kid but has no contact with his family due to mental and psychological abuse and severe levels of pressure to do when in school as a child. Sean’s parents completely cut him off after his choice to not go to university and instead drop out of school at 16 as he could not handle the pressure anymore and has always been better with his hands than his mind.

Sean has been homeless since then, has recently been sofa-bouncing with mates in this city whilst working as a bin-man.

After a month of being a bin-man, Sean knew that he wanted more and he was sick of barely making ends meet. Sean always dreamt and owning his own mechanic shop due to his life-long love of cars but severely lacked the money needed to achieve this due to being stuck in a minimum wage job and having no qualifications. Whilst being a binman, Sean found some Indica Buds in a garbage bin which he sold to someone he knew, this was the easiest money Sean had ever made. Instantly, this sparked an idea in Sean’s head, he knew this was the path to his mechanic shop. Sean proceeded to empty his savings account and spend it all on a ‘trap-house’ in Grove Street with the purpose of using it to store and sell drugs out of which has been going extremely well and Sean is well on his way to starting his car shop.

Being in the occupation my character currently is (the coke trade), means that I need to create a lot of connections, before the ban I was in talks with a rich family of miners who approached me and my mates to sell cocaine on behalf of them in exchange for lower-priced cocaine and a cut of any sales that we make for them.

Additionally, as I am not and have no intention to be in any gangs, I often find myself in various scenarios where I have to negotiate with the gangs who turf I am selling in. An example of this is when my associate was kidnapped in Vespucci boulevard for selling there and I had to negotiate with the gang that kidnapped him in exchange for his safe return.

Another example of quality RP that I can provide is before the ban I was approached by a group of bank robbers who robbed a bank in the north of the city (Paleto bay, I think), who asked me to be a hostage for them in exchange for a cut, this went very smoothly and I also left with new connections including a couple of new dealers as a thank you for being the hostage and not turning them in.

While we do not tolerate the use of this kind of language and have a very stern stance on it too, I do appreciate the honesty and how forthcoming you are in your appeal.

Thus, I am willing to give another chance today and I sincerely hope you will not waste it.

Any ban within the next 6 months will be permanent again, so keep your nose clean. Should you be caught using ANY discriminatory language ever again, you will be sent away for a long period of time, just so we are clear.
