Reason given for your ban: Player report - G3.1 (hop on) / C1.8
In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was banned for G3.1 (Hop on) and C1.8 because I logged into the server around the same time as my friends and also messaged in Discord for everyone with waps to fly in.
Why should we unban you ?: Firstly, I understand why these rules are in place and why they are important. These rules ensure that everyone has a fair and enjoyable experience while playing RPUK and that any and all interactions in RP have not been influenced by OOC information that may change the course of a sit.
I have been on this server for a very long time (coming up to 3 years in a couple of months) and this is the first time I have been banned. I want to mention that the only reason I wish to play on this server is to continue delivering high-quality roleplay stories for myself and others in the community. It's the reason I log in almost every day.
With regards to G3.1, I still stand by what I mentioned in my response to the report that we did not use information obtained OOC to influence our decision to "hop on". We had agreed earlier in the day that we would log on later that night and it just happened that there was an active sit when we did all fly in. I understand how this looks, especially given the other rule break which I will go into detail about later in this appeal. Still, I can assure you there was no intention of all hopping on to get involved with the situation where Abu had been kidnapped. We had logged back in over the course of 30 minutes or so, as we had agreed to earlier in the day, and were informed IC that Marabunta had kidnapped one of our gang members. I understand how this looks but this is the honest truth.
Now, onto the C1.8 - Forcing or encouraging other players to rule break. I sent a message in my discord @'ing everyone with waps to fly in. There is no justifying this and it was clearly a rule break. There is no excuse for this and I can only apologise. I do want to add that the intention of this message wasn't to necessarily help with the situation with Marabunta. We are in the process of documenting and making a video to show off the high level of roleplay The Alliance delivers on a day-to-day basis. We are making a video to tell the story of The Alliance, how we ended up in this beef with Marabunta, and the exciting and interesting situations in RP we get into. Part of this is using tools like Rockstar Editor for cinematics to enhance the storytelling in the video and I wanted everyone with guns to fly in to make the recordings for the video look good. At the time I did not think about how this would impact and influence the situation as all I was thinking about was how we could make the video as exciting as possible for the RPUK community. Once again, I understand that this is an obvious rule break and I hold my hands up to my mistake and apologise to Marabunta as I did not think about how this would impact their roleplay experience and was being selfish.
The intention of The Alliance, a group that myself, Alan Fish and Paul Fish lead, is to become a recognised group in the city, known for our high-quality roleplay and storylines in the city with other groups. It is not a group that we just put together to fight people. We really are trying to take this seriously and in doing so I have had more fun in the last month than I have in a long time. It feels like playing back in the day when I was new to the city. We have something to work towards and we all are having a lot of fun.
In my 3 years in the city, I have made some great friends and my level of roleplay has improved massively. This server is the only Fivem server I play and I am frustrated with myself that not only have I ruined my clean record, but I cannot play with my friends anymore. I have had great feedback OOC in the past about my standard of roleplay from whitelisted factions like The Police, The Firm, The Lost, and many other whitelisted gangs. I hold myself to a high standard and apologise for the mistake I made.
I appreciate staff have a job to do and I am by no means saying I shouldn't have been banned. I clearly broke a rule and understand I have to face the consequences of my actions. If you were to lift my ban and approve my appeal I can assure you that I will continue to carry out high quality.
