In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was banned because admittedly, I did break the rules. I logged out in combat and did not make an attempt to reconnect as well as not acting accordingly after being downed/revived. This was childish of me and I understand that what I did negatively affects the server and its community.

Why should we unban you ?:  This is a very good RP server and I have severely enjoyed the time I have spent playing on it and it's a shame that I've gone and ruined it for myself. I understand what I did was wrong and ruins the experience for others, I’m not sure what was going through my head when I did what I did, I guess I just lost my temper and decided to go off for the night which obviously was wrong of me. There's no excuse for what I did and therefore I am sorry. I've only been part of the city for around 10 - 12 days and was instantly hooked. Now that I haven’t been able to play for a month it’s really made me realize how much I enjoyed my short time here and I’ve been counting down the days until I could make this appeal. I’m very new to RP as a whole (RPUK being the first server I ever joined) and I underestimated how serious the RP is in this community, there are no other British RP servers like RPUK and this is what makes it so enjoyable. If I could be given one last chance to show that I do intend to bring good RP to the city then that would mean a lot. I'd hate to never be able to play again due to a couple silly mistakes. If you do decide to give me another chance then in future I will take it on the chin and RP accordingly to ensure I never break these rules again, this is a promise. Once again I do apologize to the server staff and community members for disrupting the server and ruining their RP experience. I wouldn’t like it if someone were to do this to me so I should treat others the same.

Honestly I very rarely lose my temper. I just wasn’t having the best of days and admittedly I could have dealt with it better. After having plenty of time to think about what I had done and why it was wrong I realised that I should not be letting IRL issues affect how I act in game, and if this is the case then I should take a break until I deem myself fit enough to return. ​

G4.4) When you are revived/downed:

• You may not actively enter or continue any combat situation for the next 10 minutes.
  
• Your character retains all knowledge of the time before they are downed.
  
• Whilst downed you may not gather any new information to use once revived.
  
• While you are downed you may not divulge tactical information to anyone.
  
• Please be mindful that you are heavily injured and should act accordingly, you were downed and have lost the fight, you will not recover instantly.
  
• You are in medical custody until an NHS Medic releases you.
  

Specifically the fifth bullet point (but this applies to all) This rule is in place to help create a realistic roleplay experience for all involved. And as this is a serious role play server it is key to follow this rule so that all can have an enjoyable experience. The server thrives off of quality roleplay so rules like this one are essential. 

(C2.3) Combat logging - Logging out at any point during RP is exploiting. Some examples of this include: logging out during a firefight, being chased by the police, arrested by the police, while dead awaiting a medic, logging out in order to save gear, rage-quitting, logging out whilst restrained/detained. Punishment is a permanent ban. Staff can make an informed decision depending on if you’ve made an attempt to resolve the issue. We do suggest you attempt to rejoin the server and continue the roleplay (try messaging them with the mobile system first).

This rule is implemented to ensure that the server is fair and everyone has equal opportunity. If everyone combat logged whenever things got heated then the server would not be an enjoyable place to be and therefore it would not succeed. As this is a serious RP server it is incredibly unrealistic to just disappear with 0 attempt to roleplay, not to mention extremely frustrating for the other person involved.

Honestly I think I’ve learned to not lose my temper, the server is here for people to enjoy themselves. But if I were to for whatever reason then I’d just roleplay my injuries or whatever the situation may be and to a good standard (NOT combat log) . I’ve learned from my mistakes as corny as it might sound, I’d rather not have to face a permanent ban. The tip I’ve  taken away from this hefty unban process is that at the end of the day this is a game and it’s here to provide a fun and realistic experience and I should keep that in mind before I decide to get annoyed over something small. I’ve had a nice hefty break and am now on a 2 week holiday. I feel fresh in my mind and do genuinely believe I’m ready to return to RPUK.
