Why do you think you were banned: Hello,
Firstly I would like to thank the staff for taking the time to review this unban appeal. I was banned 8-9 months ago for C1.7 following a comment I made in groups. It was during a back and forth with Cutlass. We were actively warring. Following a sit, groups was becoming active as it does and I made a comment to their former leader who I felt was trying to get a reaction out of Aztecas. I don’t know if my wording will be exact so please let me know if I’m mistaken but what I recall is saying, “You need to get up for the little one in six hours” and told him to go to bed. It has been a while so I could be slightly off. At the time it felt like some light banter in response to the exhausting arguments. It was late and groups was beginning to come off as a QE sit. I was trying to make a light joke but I do not want to sit and waste staff’s time with justifications for what I said. Reflecting on it, I was in the wrong and there is no denying that.
There has always been a rough dynamic between Cutlass and Aztecas but I should have recognized that much and stepped aside instead of trying to be the ‘class clown’ and make light out of everything. I made a joke but didn’t stop to reflect on what I was saying or how it could have been perceived. I won't deny that I initially felt like I didn't do anything wrong. It felt like jabs and banter were being made on both sides. Looking back at it over the last few months, I recognize bringing anyone's personal life into the picture is inappropriate even as a joke. Following my ban I realized I spent a good portion of my time engaged in an in-game war (that made its way outside of RP) and into groups for a while and I knew I crossed the line. The ban was justified and the break was needed to reflect on what I did.
Why should we unban you: I have always enjoyed being a part of RP (like many others) but I also understand that I was banned as a result of my own actions. If given another chance by staff to return and roleplay, I can give my word that this will never happen again. If I find myself in a situation where I can recognize toxicity is taking place in groups, I’ll avoid typing even if its to make a joke. I’ll stop and reflect on how my message will be perceived, especially in the middle of an argument. If what is being said is breaking any community rules, I’ll bring it to staff's attention instead. There were a dozen ways I could have handled myself, and I know that now. This time away has been good in order for me to hold myself accountable.
Lastly I want to apologize to the staff as it's a lot of work maintaining the server. Having to go in and moderate Groups, where we’re all adults and should be behaving like adults, is not something they should have had to do to begin with. It is selfish and like I mentioned previously, will never happen again. Thank you for reading this and I will be happy to answer any questions the staff have.
