Reason given for your ban: (C2.3) Combat logging

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was banned for combat logging, which occurred on 21/12/2022. I was on my police character when I spotted someone driving rapidly through the city, i attempted to pull him over but it was to no avail as he was going much faster than me and i was stopped at traffic lights when i saw him pass me. Later on, i spotted the same car and asked him to pull over for a chat - he fled from the scene, took me on a police chase around the city, crashing multiple times leading to his car eventually start smoking and the car die. I attempted to arrest the suspect when he got out of the car and looked like he was going to run but at this point he had already got his gun out and had multiple shots off on me before i had the chance to react leading to me being downed. I had no idea he had a gun otherwise i would've acted it differently. The roleplay was carried out fully, I valued my life in the situation asking him to spare me instead of dumping me and how sorry i was (i gathered he was dumping me when he took the dirt road up towards the dam) we had a little chat before i got dumped but it didn't seem like he had any intention of saving my life. He stated that he despised police and the best place for me was at the bottom of the dam (He gave good RP also) I was in deep water, it was pitch black so unless someone knew of my location and had air tanks which would've been impossible because he took my phone and radio as soon as i went down so all hope was lost. Due to the RP situation being finished, me being dumped at the bottom of the dam and I only had less than a minute left before I could respawn (which looking back in hindsight, i should've waited and i regret not waiting) despite all of this, i didn't think it would be an issue to relog onto my criminal character. It was stupid of me to think that it wouldn't be classed at combat logging, it was just a momentary lapse of judgement.

Why should we unban you ?: The rule I broke is a pretty serious one in terms of RP but it wasn't meant in a malicious manner. I would always try to keep my police characters roleplay to a high standard because it sets a good example for the server (C2.3) Logging out at any point during RP is exploiting. Some examples of this include: logging out during a firefight, being chased by the police, arrested by the police, while dead awaiting a medic, logging out in order to save gear, rage-quitting, logging out whilst restrained/detained. I understand why you have this rule in place - it is to keep everything on a level playing field, make sure all RP is carried out to the highest standard and so it doesn't ruin the immersive experience that RP has to offer. I understand that my actions were in violation of the server's rules and I take full responsibility for how i acted. I understand the importance of fair play and sportsmanship within RP and I regret any inconvenience my actions may have caused. I have had previous bans before for other issues but i have strived to learn from my mistakes, never repeating said mistakes and if you grant me another chance, this will not happen again. I have no intention of ever abusing server rules and i aim to make other peoples experience on the server enjoyable, whilst being a positive and respectful member of the community.

I work nights so I will try my best to respond within a timely fashion.

Firstly, I want to thank you for taking your time out and making a detailed appeal, I can tell you took your time in making it, I appreciate it.

All you had to do was wait less than a minute...! Next time I recommend waiting out the minute, as it's not worth a month cooldown before you can appeal it.

It indeed is a serious rule, regardless however, all of the rules are set in place for a reason, now I understand you didn't mean it in a malicious manner, but I think we can both agree and understand why it was placed.  - You say you'd always try to keep your police characters roleplay to a high standard, I am curious, in the time you were banned, did you think of any interesting RP scenarios, or situations you want to involve your police officer in?

I am glad to hear you strive to learn from your mistakes, I've a question in regards to your previous bans/chances, you've been banned 2 times previous, both of them were permanent bans. (This being the third permanent ban) - How can I be sure you won't be permanently banned in the next 2 months of potentially unbanning you? 
You've read the rules fully prior to being unbanned last time, no?

Hi Mike, all is well, hope you can say the same!

Firstly, I want to thank you for taking your time out and making a detailed appeal, I can tell you took your time in making it, I appreciate it.

Honestly, no other servers have a community like RPUK and it has been my home for a while now so it is definitely worth my time.

I would've spent the next few hours waiting for a respawn rather than having a month cooldown, i always miss playing - finding myself in dead server or on other games which just don't satisfy me anywhere near what RPUK does.

in the time you were banned, did you think of any interesting RP scenarios, or situations you want to involve your police officer in? 

I would love to be involved in attending a robbery at the big bank. I have never been around when one has taken place, and the stories i have been told after it has all unfolded ie the negotiations, the plans, the communications from the police station calling out how many assailants are in there with potential hostages, the chase with multiple cars trying to get away, there's so many exciting factors that could play into it with a large amount of people involved. All in all, i feel like it's a good scenario because both sides get to be involved in an active roleplay scenario which could last for hours. 

How can I be sure you won't be permanently banned in the next 2 months of potentially unbanning you? 

I want to maintain a place within the community. I take full responsibility of my actions that led to my ban. I am going to make sure I never combat log again. The time i have had away from the community has been more than enough time to reflect on my actions and i don't want to find myself asking for another chance. I just want to spend my time enjoying myself, engaging with people with the server in a positive and respectful manner. I want to prove that i can be an asset to the community. 

I read and then reread the server's rules seeking to follow the server's rules and guidelines, and communicate with the staff in a professional manner.

I appreciate the effort you have put into your appeal and everything I would have liked to asked is pretty much answered. I believe you understand what have lead you here and are not going to make that same mistake again. 

However, you will get the same consequences as everyone else when coming back from a permanent ban. Any ban within the next 6 months will be permanent again and it will much harder for you to come back from.
