Why do you think you were banned: My original ban reason was RDM of a player, I then received another ban reason prior to my ban for threatening to report/breaking character
Why should we unban you: Hi all, hope everything is going alright with yourselves and the RPUK community. I am really going to take my time right now to try my best to explain all the wrongdoing I have done on RPUK over the past few years, I don't want to leave one thing out so I apologize if I do.
PS : I apologize for the length but I feel its needed due to my lengthy history of rule breaks
Over the last 3 years on RPUK it's clear I have struggled with following rules but most importantly learning from my mistakes, I have continuously returned and broke rules which has now left me with a bad reputation and most importantly a negative relationship with staff on the RPUK due to me breaking the trust you have in me each time I've been welcomed back.
My first ban was a silly and noobish rule break I committed. I was playing the server very loosely and was very new to RP. I had no idea that the server was a serious RP server and every action taken must be considered as realistic before it is done. Obviously by creating new characters for money it was a rule break and I deserved the ban 100%.
My next ban was 2 months later for combat logging, I think this shows my immaturity at the time of only being 18 and still in school. I had no respect for other players' experience and all I wanted to do was win without letting others get satisfaction from killing me. I attempted a petty “ he broke rules first “ argument but it's common sense that 2 wrongs don't make a right in RP as then everyone would just rule break when someone else breaks rules. Once again I rightfully received a perm ban for this.
Moving on, 3 months later I stupidly found myself banned again, this I believe was a RDM that was added to my previous ban for combat logging. In the situation I clearly RDMed a police officer, although there was a story WHY I killed him there was no story before I killed him. I simply just stabbed him and drove off without providing a fun situation for both sides and to this day I believe this was my stupidest mistake I've made on RPUK overall, no way I could even argue my case here I was clearly not there to RP and just to win.
Stupidly, AGAIN 3 months later, following my pattern of not being able to follow rules for more than 1-2 months I found myself on the forums pleading to come back on another chance.
In this situation I had a clear and strong “ play to win” mentality, providing hardly any fun to the other side and only wanting to prevent them from getting satisfaction after I did them wrong. This links back to my immaturity at the time, 5 people aiming weapons would make anyone surrender, I clearly had no intention of fearing for life and was frustrated they had caught me, me being super childish I tried attacking them, deserved perm ban was given.
I was then given another chance, this time 3 months later and I messed this up also.
This was due to my strong play to win mentality and all I wanted to do was rob people with little to no time spent on RP. I was driving when I decided to ram a taxi off the road in a way I could gain advantage of their broken car so I could rob them then kill them. After using my car as a weapon to immobilize him, I then proceeded to rob him and when he wasn't fully complying to my countdown(rule break) I regretfully just killed him, providing no real RP around it.
That ban did really affect me. I did regret my actions significantly as I watched my friends continue to have fun in the city whilst I couldn't due to my in-ability to follow some simple rules, rules in place to ensure every single player in the city had a fun time. I really believe this was the point where I started taking the rules seriously and started learning from my mistakes.
Finally, at this point my trust with you guys was in ruins, I appealed and was told I needed some more time from the server. After pleading for a few months I was given a golden ticket, and on returning I was showing some true intentions of RP. I continued my solicitor character and put plenty of effort in court cases, but mainly I stayed on straight lines for a bit, proving I can RP.
Unfortunately this brings me to my most recent and painful ban. This time 1 year ago I was in the most “play to win” mentality i have ever been in on RPUK and just wanted to see my bank balance go up. For about a month all i done was sell drugs on coalition hill, and when my friends were about it was continuously robbing players at gas stations trying to bank their cash, this was not a healthy way to play the server at all, and whilst i believe at the start the quality of RP was decent it rapidly declined. I was finding myself getting super frustrated when a player would not abide by my instructions and at the slight rule break I could detect I would clip and report them in a way to try and get my anger out on them. Eventually the clipping and reporting wasn't enough although staff were paying attention to them and I began to just get my own back at the player by RDMing and threatening to report. The clip I provided in a report which led to my ban was me RDMing a player after I thought I told them to put their hands up, watching the clip now I see I was on whisper and the player wouldn't have heard me anyways. However even if he did, the state of the RP I gave him was terrible, “hands up now , drop items” is no way near fun for his side of the situation and I regret it so much.
Shortly after my ban for RDM i also had a case of threats to report added on top, i think this goes hand in hand with the situation i have just described on how playing to win simply just doesn't work in a serious RP environment. My RP clearly declined to nothing from just wanting to rob people and sell drugs, I forgot how to have fun with the community.
Since that ban I have appealed a couple times, it's apparent my trust is in ruins, but I'm determined to prove that my playstyle has changed and ill never end up here pleading again.
If I were to return, the first thing I would do is apply to become a police officer. I would love to progress my way up and become an interceptor. If this fails then I would continue my solicitor pathway. I loved writing court cases for people and becoming known in the community. I pledge to not go back to constant robbery and drug dealing.
