In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: Something to do with meta-gaming

Why should we unban you ?: Hi staff team, hope your all doing well. I’m appealing because of my metagame ban from last February. Although I don’t strictly remember the meta-gaming incident and I have tried to find what happened through asking friends and going through medal however after being banned for this long I have definitely had time to think and reflect on the situation. I would love to come back provide great RP and show that I have improved with my mindset of the server. I have read rules and made sure I fully understand the meta gaming rule so even though I don’t strictly remember what the incident was it won’t happen again. I greatly miss the server and can assure high-quality RP from me will be consistent and followed by the rules.

This appeal just makes me feel like you still aren’t taking responsibility for your rule break but just telling us what we want to hear?

For someone who has been banned since Feb, you haven’t put a lot of effort in. Do you even want unbanned? Or are you trying your luck for an easy unban?

Ill give you the opportunity to repost your answer to “why should we unban you?”

I would like to respond to your first point about not taking responsibility for my rule break. I am taking responsibility as much as I can for a situation I genuinely cant remember. I was was informed on the incident I would carefully  look over and respond with why it was to do that and how I can change my RP to avoid the situation again in the future. I promise I cant remember the situation so all I can do is refer back to the rule and explain how I am going to follow it and how my mindset has changed. I want to provide good and high quality RP. also while I have been banned for the period I have made sure to read over the rules again and I do realise what I did was wrong and could of ruined a lot of RP that could of came from the situation at hand I have made sure to take extra steps to insure that this incident will never happen again and I have had time to reflect on my actions and make sure it won't happen again I am sorry about my actions. 

onto your second point about my effort. I understand your point and from your point of view it does seem like I haven't put that much effort in but in my defence I do not know 100% what the situation was leading up to my ban as it was quite awhile ago and I do not have any sort of clip or anything of that day/situation but I do get your point that is why I want to add more detail to this and explain more of my side and show, try to prove to you that it won't happen again and from the bottom of my heart I am truly sorry for the issue I caused and the problems it could of came with I have made sure to take steps to insure that this mishap will never happen again and I will make sure I provide the best RP I can and bring joy and happiness to the community like I should of done in the first place I am sorry for breaking the rules I have made sure to read the rules again and if I do get given a second chance I will make sure to read the rules again before starting my journey and RP again. 

The third point is bout trying for an easy unban appeal again I understand your point on this as the lack of effort and writing I did the first time I understand you believe that I want to make it an easy unban appeal but truthfully I miss the server a lot I miss playing with my friends the community I really want to make a dent in the community and show that I have changed and I am no longer that person that I was before I was banned I have had quite a lot of time to reflect on my actions and I really hope you find it in your heart to give me another chance so I can show everyone that I am no longer that person and that I can bring top notch RP and fun to the community and I will make sure to not break the rules again as I know that was stupid of me and very cruel to ruin others RP and fun with my stupid actions that caused me to banned I hope I can have a second chance to prove you and everyone that I have truly changed and that I am truly sorry.

 
The situation in question, is that you logged on within minutes of a gunfight happening at 229 turf. You never made any calls, text messages, group chat messages, and or radio calls to find out where the gunfight was but as you spawned in, you drove directly to the gunfight.

 
Once again thank you for your response Liam. Thank you for also clarifying the ban. I would like to start of with by saying I can assure you it will never happen again. As you know tensions where high at the time and I let the excitement of the fight dictate my actions. That won’t happen again. 

I now know that I have to be more mindful and respect the rules as they are there for a reason. I can assure you my actions towards my role play will now be 100% by the rules. I want to join back and enjoy the server and creating fun RP for everyone and this time away from the server has allowed me to realise how much I miss it. I know there are many steps to getting me back to the server. That’s why I have read the rules, made sure I understand them and really thought about my actions going forward if I ever come back. If given another opportunity I will prove how my mindset has changed and prove the high quality rp I will provide to make sure everyone has the most fun possible. Like I mentioned before I understand the severity of meta game and how it ruins people time in the server.

Yes I was banned as well for a report on RDM and this was my first ban on the server and I have looked back on the situation and learnt my lesson from this, at the time I panicked cause he full sent his car into my car at 80 mph and thought he was trying to kill me without speaking to me so I decided to shoot him so I stooped to a level of a rule break which I shouldn't have done at the time and regret the decision of doing that and wish I talked to him and had a more fully fledged RP situation with him instead of that mistake I committed. 

 
Thanks for the effort that you're putting into these replies and the initial appeal.

Do the following:

  • Quote both rules you broke, as they appear on the rules page
  • Explain the rules you broke, in your own words
  • Explain why we have these rules in place
  • Explain the damaging effects that Metagaming can occur in the game world.
 
These are the rules I broke as stated on the rule page

(G1.2) Random Death Match (RDM) - Attacking another player without engaging in any form of quality roleplay is considered RDM. (eg. Giving enough time for them to comply with your order. “Put your hands up or I will shoot” and countdowns are not considered quality roleplay, please at least attempt to create an interesting roleplay story before considering violence.) - Mass RDM is a permanent ban.

(G3.1) OOC Information - Using out-of-character information to influence the course of roleplay is considered metagaming and punishable by a ban. This includes but is not limited to: Twitch Streams, forum information and Steam messages. 

In my own words the rules, why they are in place and the effects of the metagaming rule being broke 

In my own words, I broke the random death match rule which is killing another player without any engagement of RP with the other player that has been killed from the random deathmatch, and the other rule was taking information from out of RP and using it within RP to gain an advantage or change the RP from it. We have the RDM rule in place to keep the RP fun and enjoyable so people do not go around shooting each other without any prior engagement of RP beforehand and the metagaming rule this prevents the course of RP from being changed from outside intervention etc, using a stream to know someone location within RP the whole point of the roleplay is to know and gain information within the roleplay itself and not change it by any means. The damaging effects of a metagaming rule break can cause change the course of RP to something that shouldn't happen and this will affect another player's experience and can also result in staff getting involved to sort the rule break which will be wasting their time causing the rule breaks shouldn't happen in the first place.
