Unban Appeal for MaybeNotNikhil

In-game Name: Chris Tion-Wynne

Server: GTA RP

Steam ID: 76561198990265532

Ban ID: !!rpuk10587!!

Reason given for your ban: "unknown" (speak to staff open a ticket)

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I met a dodgy cop outside MRPD, it started out by me giving him lifts to places and picking him up, as well as teaching him how the city works for example mechanic truck jobs etc, initially we were just friends I was trying to get close to him at the beginning to get my taser repaired and maybe buy a gun or two, to try get close to him. He said he wanted a car so initially I bought him one by transferring the majority of the money, and sold him one from Autocare, with me making it clear to him I expect to be paid back as he has taken out a loan from me, he then gave me a few megaphones and binoculars as payment, but obviously it would not pay me back the amount I've lent him, he then later requested that I buy him a home which I did increasing the loan he owed me, he knew he was in debt to me at this point and he knew I was a criminal, as I have confessed that my criminal record was quite dirty, he began to pay me back with random items I have never seen for example handcuffs, which can't be used by anyone apart from cops, eventually he started paying me in amour for around 10-100 at a time, however this later escalated to around 8500 in the end. I was just going about the RP as I’ve been told in game gangs get guns from dodgy cops as well as weapons can be repaired so I had no idea I was doing anything wrong I’ve read all the rules many times and have never seen one against what I was doing so I was just going along with the RP situation. if I am being honest, I had no idea that selling amour was affecting the in-game economy which led to me getting permanently banned.

Why should we unban you ?: In my eyes what I was doing was not against any of the Roleplay.co.uk rules, so I was just going with whatever roleplay opportunities presented them self to me, as I stated I believed that all types of corrupt cops where allowed and that is how items such as megaphones and binoculars got out to the public hence they were being sold in pawn shops etc, as corrupt cops are normally spoken about a lot in the criminal side of RP. In relation to the rule (G8.2) this applied to police officers and Liam explained to me in a ticket he asked me to open that.
"Liam Oct 29, 2022, 11:26 PM 'Corrupt cops' are allowed but removing 8,549 Armor from the Armoury is absurd and economy breaking."
So, it's allowed, but there is a limit on how much u can do? and people receiving these items can also be punished for it? whilst there are no rules regarding it from the receiver's side?, I feel it is unfair to be permanently banned, without receiving a warning for something that everyone who reads the rules would find nothing regarding including the staff member Liam admitting this by telling me to put unknown as the ban reason, further leaving me confused as I've been part of this community for a long time and am familiar with the rules and still don’t know how I’ve broken any rules, rather than the dodgy cop breaking the rules set for police
I have always been a strong character in roleplay.co.uk and make enjoyable scenarios for everyone around even during times I am getting robbed or taken hostage etc I try to make every scenario I am in enjoyable and have always tried my hardest to not go against any roleplay.co.uk rules since my last ban. I have had an enjoyable time on server meeting many new people and trying to ensure everyone I interact with is enjoying every situation I am part off. During my time at roleplay.co.uk I have improved RP on my half and have made the best of every situation and mainly just try to enjoy myself and interact with the friendly community of rp.co.uk, I do not want my time in this community to come to an end over this event and therefore am very sorry for the harm my actions have created. Thank you for taking the time to read my appeal.

Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

Hello! @MaybeNotNikhil, am i correct in interpreting this as that it never crossed your mind that the 8,549 armors could break and potentially ruin the servers economy? for refrenece thats £8,549,000 (based on the average price for armor atm). Given the way you obtained these, do you it was a fair trade?

i didn’t think so cause it was over the course of a few weeks and i hadn't even sold a lot of it yet, i know plenty of other people making a lot more money than this, and i didn’t know selling an abundance of something was against the rules otherwise i may have thought about it more thoroughly and why would you not take a trade that is good for you and unfair to the other person if they were willing? that’s more about ethics than anything else.

in hindsight, i now see how this trade may have been a mistake, but at the time i was doing what i believed was beneficial for my character, i don't know much about economics so did not know how bad it was, nor did i know how much amour exist in the in game economy, as i do not possess the tools to check, i was just taking how much amour he was giving me and at no point did i request anymore, all i asked for was payment for the money i leant him. i am not trying to shift the blame on to anyone, i genuinely did not realise i was breaking any rules, if i could repeat the scenario i should of limited how much i received, or stopped accepting them at a lower amount. if i was to be let back into the server i wouldn’t abuse anything like this again and be more thoughtful of the economy, as i did not realise the damage i was causing, i am very sorry for the harm i have caused and want to thank you for taking the time to read my response.

Thanks, L1L for taking the time to read my response, I think a fair resolution for this would be, all the remaining amour from my home to be removed to prevent further damage to the economy, and i will give you my word that if a situation like this was ever to arise again, i will think more carefully about the damage that could be done and ensure i will not make the same thoughtless actions that led me here.

What are we going to do about the money that was earned with the armor that has been sold on already?

From the armour, i have sold roughly around 5000 (i have not kept track of all the sales, all these are from estimates from how much the cop removed from the armoury, taken away from how much i have in my home, which rounds to around 5000) i sold the armour for around market price which is around 800-850, most big orders only sold for 800 and smaller ones sold for 850, going of i sold all the armour for 800 that's 4,000,000 overall revenue, from that the cop owed me roughly just under a mil, i believe, 400,000 of that money went to a gun i bought that got taken off by the cops, i was robbed of 500 amour and a standard which has a total value of around 700k so i profited around 1.8-1.9 mil, from that i bought a Benson and packer these added up to around £700 000 and are currently in my garage, as for the other 1.1mil around 400000 went to another weapon, i traded in a maxed speedo express (worth around 350 000) plus 300k cash for a twizy, this leaves around 50-100k un accounted for and i most likely used that on day to day expenses i.e. speeding tickets etc. The money that was owed to me was a debt payment and like all debts you normally want a bit of interest the armour was being originally sold for the debt money the cop owed me then i began just selling how much i had.

To answer your question i had no intention of inflating the economy , and did not realise the armour led me to make money excessively at the time as for the money that has been earned already, my honest answer to you is to probably take away the vehicles i bought with armour money as well as any items that i have mentioned above, as i understand now that this money has inflated the economy and it's the only method i can see that will be fair to everyone involved as all i would have received is a loss of time and the economy will not be damaged further if the current armour is removed and i understand why items purchased with armour money should be removed and see how this is a difficult situation, and is probably the best resolution i can see.

Two things will happen in this case @MaybeNotNikhilfor you to come back to the community.

- Full wipe of your character. You can only keep one, but he will be back on 0.
- Permanent blacklist from ALL whitelisted factions until appealed with Staff Leads. There is no timeframe to appeal this, but you will not be able to appeal the blacklist for atleast 6 months.

You have to agree to this before going forward.

i agree only because i want to re-join the server and continue rp'ing,

however I do feel this is not a "fair resolution" as L1L asked as I was just Roleplaying everything and if I was aware this was not a allowed as there was no physical rule I would of never of gave the cop a loan, furthermore at no point did I ask for anymore I was taking what was given to me and I lose nearly a years’ worth of work for 2 mil even though I've earnt more than 5-6 mil doing other jobs i was asked what a fair resolution was and  I receive one of the harshest punishments which I feel is a bit unfair,

Do you agree or not?

Wipe completed

I have gone ahead and unbanned you. Any ban within the next 6 months will be permanent, do not make me regret this.
