Why do you think you were banned: I believe I was banned for talking about a roleplay situation in a discord server with other downed members while the roleplay situation was still ongoing.
Why should we unban you: I would like to start off by expressing my appreciation to the staff member(s) who have to read and reply to my appeal.

Firstly, I don't believe that I should be unbanned with no repercussions as that isn't fair. But I do believe that I should be met with a lesser punishment, my reasoning for thinking this should be the way about things is because I've not received any prior bans and this is my first time banned from the server I feel that an indefinite ban is unjust considering my ban history. Regarding the situation at hand, I understand that a punishment must take course. And have only received 1 warn during my time spent on the server (received the warn on the 05/07/23, 11 months ago) I trust in these rules as this provides security for the server. I would also like to mention that I was not aware that talking amongst other downed players was against the rules (this being my fault and my fault only, and I apologise for doing so) as no one in-game could act upon what was being discussed. It is now to my understanding that this could influence the course of the roleplay scenario. I greatly apologise for my actions as what I have done was wrong, and I apologise for this. I understand that metagaming can be the most unfair way to gain an advantage in RP, my intention was not to provide any unfair advantage but only to include myself in a conversation between other downed members, at the time I was not aware that talking within our discord server could alter the course of the roleplay scenario in our favour. I have a good understanding now and can promise that this will never happen again. If staff have any questions considering the scenario I would be more than happy to answer.

I would once again like to show my appreciation to staff who are reading and replying to this appeal.

Why do you believe a permanent ban is too harsh for this situation?
How do you think a lesser punishment would be fair to both you and the other players on the server?
Can you give an example of how you will actively contribute to maintaining a fair and immersive environment on the server going forward?

Good Evening OneShot, thanks for replying!

In this reply I will quote each of your questions and reply accordingly.

I personally believe that an indefinite ban is too harsh as I've never received any prior bans, and have only received a warning in my year on the server. I would also like to add that I am not known to be a rule breaker and this is my first time on this side of the forums. Additionally, the conversation that occurred in discord was an OOC discussion and no information was used in-game.

I think a lesser punishment would be fair towards me because, as previously explained, I have not received a ban prior to this one in the entire duration I have been a member of this community. However over the time I have been banned I have learnt my lesson and now understand that what I had done can affect other players within the server. I also believe that it would be fair for other players as I would still be suffering a punishment rather than no repercussions from my actions which have unfortunately lead to my ban.

Moving forward, while I am playing on the server, I will refrain from using discord as a means of communication while it can still influence the course of roleplay or to use it as a way of providing information to other players, even if they are all currently downed or incapacitated. By doing this, it will maintain a fair and immersive environment for other players that is hopefully fun for all parties involved.

So my question is, why would you say this ^ knowing in your own comments that you knew there was some players still alive and asking them to pick up the downed?
 
I do not have a defence regarding the comment "feds might grab downed boys when you can get us in cars" as I willingly sent that message to the discord knowing that alive players would see it. However, it was not my intention to break the rules with it as at the time it was a tense roleplay situation where I had acted without thinking clearly beforehand. I accept that it was indeed a breach of the rules and I should be punished for it.

In regards to why I said that in my appeal, I had forgotten the exact messages I had sent which resulted in my ban while writing my appeal, I was not intending on misleading yourself or other Staff members with that comment. It was purely a mistake on my end. Hope that clears things up.

Very well. Considering your history, I am willing to give you another chance and I sincerely hope you have learned your lesson.

Keep in mind, any ban within the next 6 months will be permanent again and anything whatsoever connected to metagaming will give you an automatic 3 month cooldown.

Do not waste this chance!
