Why do you think you were banned: Hello and thank you to whichever staff member takes their time to view this unban appeal.

I was banned due to being found incapacitated in a car by another member of the community and staff were under the impression that it was metagamed.
Why should we unban you: When I got pulled by staff to be questioned about how I got found when I wasn't in an open area, I was asked if there was a screen share in discord and I said no, this was unfortunately a lie. In the heat of the moment I panicked and didn't want anyone to get banned because I was screen sharing. The reason I lied is because I didn't see how my screen share would have got me found since who I now know to be "Cleetus" on a different character wasn't in the vc at the time. I was streaming purely for entertainment to the Grove members that are currently banned and wanted to watch the fight.

I would like to state though that I didn't know "Billy Ray" before this interaction. I know of someone that has been coming down Grove turf but I hadn't been introduced to him nor did I know him as Cleetus.

I would like to prove to staff that lying was just a panic in the moment stupid mistake and will not happen again. I know that lying in the first place means that staff will now have a hard time believing anything I say. In my 8 months in the community I have never been pulled by staff or banned for metagaming.

I would like a 2nd chance as no one metagamed my location and I know it was stupid of me to lie. I just didn't want to see people banned because I was screen sharing to other people and didn't feel like staff would believe me anyway.

Good morning @LX_TRICKS , I trust all is well with you?

Regardless of you never being pulled by staff or banned for metagaming within your 8 months of the community, you still went ahead and broke one of the more serious rules on the server.
I would argue that if you've been here for 8 months, you'd know better. Metagaming is one of the rules that comes with a permanent ban and skips the fair ban system we have in place, you've managed to get yourself one of the highest punishments as your first.

If you have lied to us out of panic and not wanting others to get banned, how can I trust you won't do it again in the "heat of the moment"?

I understand completely that metagaming is one of the most serious rules the server has, which is why I would never intend to break it. I appreciate that you probably won't believe a word I say, and that's completely understandable. The reason I lied is because I didn't see how it would make a difference since the person that found us wasn't in the vc. I didn't want people to get banned unnecessarily. It was a stupid heat of the moment mistake lying in the first place and I fully understand the severity of lying to staff.

All I can do is give you my word that if given another chance nothing like this will ever happen again. Actions speak louder than words and I would like to prove to staff that they can trust me. I completely understand that lying in the first instance has not helped my case in the slightest and I don't expect you to believe a word I say. I would like to show you that I can be trusted.

I know it may hold no relevance, but on that day I also had some family issues which I wouldn't like to discuss publicly, but this meant my head was everywhere and I wasn't thinking straight nor was my head in the game. I know I should have probably logged off but I had hoped that the game may distract me from the IRL news I was thinking about. I'd be happy to discuss said issues in a ticket if staff wanted but I do not want to discuss it publicly.

I can understand not wanting to get friends in trouble but how else will we be able to make the server fair for everyone if no one comes forward and be honest right off the bat?

Now this was caught only days after posting an irl image from another player which could've gotten you banned all in itself but I'd say staff were pretty lenient with that instance, we showed we're not just here to ban people would you agree?

If you'd have just been honest, this could've gone another way. It's a shoulda woulda coulda scenario that unfortunately ended here.
The problem is we can't with 100% certainty say this won't happen again but because your record is "relatively" clean I'm willing to hear you out.

What will change?
How will you prevent this?
Will you come forward if you spot others doing this?

Thank you for your response.

I can completely appreciate the fact that I should have been honest in the first place. It was genuinely just a lapse of judgement and not wanting others to get banned as it was impossible for "Billy Ray" to have seen my location from my stream when he wasn't in the vc.

I would also like to state on the topic of the image I posted, it wasn't of a person and was a pet of another member of my gang. This person also sent the image to other people via text in game after I had posted it. Afaik he wasn't offended by it and found it funny (jokes are always being made about said pet ooc), he also (afaik) opened a ticket to let staff know it was a joke and even had hours of conversation with Staff Leads and Management making jokes about the pet. I would agree that the picture I posted had the potential to get me banned and I appreciated the staff team taking leniency with the situation.

If I had been honest, yes the situation could have taken a totally different turn, and I appreciate that it will be hard to trust my word because of that initial lie. To answer your questions:

What will change?
I will no longer screen share in a vc during an RP sit due to the fact there is a potential (even if not conciously) that other people could metagame from my screen share. It is unlikely I will sit in a Discord vc at all while in any RP situations to avoid any sort of rule breaks.

I believe this also answers your question of "how will you prevent this?". I have no intentions for myself or my friends to be breaking rules. As such like I have stated above, if I am in an active RP situation I will remain deafened (if already in a vc prior to the sit) and make sure at no point will I be screen sharing to limit the possibility of rule breaks occurring.

Will you come forward if you spot others doing this?
Absolutely. The gang I am a part of are fully aware of the consequences of what could happen. It has opened all our eyes to the potential of rule breaks, even if subconscious.
