Unban Appeal for Lansbury

Ban ID: no idea

Reason given for your ban: no idea

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: Absolutely no idea. I couldn't remember my login or old (really old) log in info so thought I'd just start a fresh account and go from there. I looked up my old account (Papa Hedge) and it has Banned written on it. Very confusing as I left the community a very long time ago (you hadn't even launched the Malden server - that's how long ago it was) and wasn't banned at that point. Any info on this from you guys would be awesome.

Why should we unban you ?: If I knew why I was banned I would be able to answer this question.

Sorry, I should have written the In-game name as Papa Hedge, as that's the account it refers to. My bad, I'm sorry about that.

 
Thanks for alerting us to your old account. Unfortunately, your game account will need to be banned for C1.6 until we get to the bottom of this. Please continue replying on this thread, and not to make a new appeal for your C1.6 ban.

This ban was placed on you November 2018, what can you tell us about it? Anything at all would help your case.

A community ban? That just makes it even more confusing as I wasn't banned when I last played here. Are there any notes on it?

That's news to me. I've never taken anything from here (or anywhere else for that matter). 

What was I supposed to have taken and where did I take it?

SavageRP was a community I ran a couple of years back. We had a few different game servers; Minecraft, Ylands, Eco amongst others. We all came from various RP servers and decided that we'd like to give running a our own server a shot. We ended up merging with Arma Life and created a modded server with a custom map and modified (paid for) assets. It was a re-launch for the Arma Life name and it brought back a lot of the original developers who worked on it first time round.

Is there anything specific you'd like to know about it?

There was no such thing to my knowledge. I pride myself on my integrity and would never invade someone else's community like that.. I had friends that played here and asked them if they'd like to come and take a look but there was certainly no mass invites to community members from me.

Can you show me any evidence of those alleged messages?

EDIT: I wouldn't mind seeing what I was supposed to have taken from here to there too.

It was savagegaming.gg but it's been closed for a long time. I want to say 2018 or 2019, something like that.  I believe someone else has the IP now and runs Rust servers.

Cheers. Had a look in the internet archive and can't find anything immediately concerning. 

I think from what I can tell of the notes that were left at the time of your ban in 2018, the 'offence' boiled down to some similarity/suspected-cloning of your forum's top-bar, server status info and other aspects of the forum's layout. Gotta be honest, I wasn't aware that there was a ban pushed on you at the time, but sometimes this kind of thing happened as a precaution or if certain members of management felt that there was a threat or risk of people advertising to our playerbase (and it appears we did have a report of something back in 2017 from another member, but it was evidently fairly low key).

I do recall your name, but (rudely, sorry, I know) I can't remember that much about you (which probably means you were not a thorn in my side, LOL - and that's a good thing). 

If you can give us a quick sketch of what you're hoping to find here, and what brings you back, I'd love to hear it. So far, I'm not seeing any real problems here that can't be surmounted, but gimme a quick trip around the inside of your head, your intentions, what kind of play you're looking for, and we can probably unwrap this in short order if there are no concerns.

To be honest, I think the invision forums was the standard for a long time so can understand why caution was used.

aha! - I think you were taking some personal time when I was mainly on the server all those years ago. Well that was the jist of what was relayed anyways, so our interactions were very minimal. I used to bug Cairan a lot though, especially at how many times the mayors car would blow up when retrieving it 😄

I'm just looking to get back into roleplaying, that's all. I've been 'out of the game' for a while and the itch finally needs scratching so I thought I'd hit up my old haunt and get myself back into the community again. I guess I was hoping some old faces would still be around so it wasn't such a frightning prospect of meeting so many new people all at once.

 
I see no reason to keep you banned from this C1.6 from all those years ago. You’ve been nothing but polite to us in this appeal despite having a C1.6 ban pushed on your game account for pre-emptive reasons.

Usually this would count to your Fair Ban System but I’m going to remove that, so that any ban on our server will be in accordance to the FBS and not a permanent ban due to this appeal!
