Why do you think you were banned: Hello to whomever may be dealing with this appeal. Firstly id like to apologise for my last appeal as there was little to no effort due to the fact i was unsure as to why i was banned. I was banned for metagaming, the rule is put in place to ensure that players don't take information they gained from ooc and then bring it to in character. Since my last appeal there has been contact made with staff in effort to try and understand the ban reasoning, and thanks to isak we were able to narrow the dates down as to when the incident may of occurred. I believe that i was banned when a fight broke out between the chippieones and ballas at the casino,(however may still be incorrect)


We spent a few days as a gang discussing after some help from Charles and Isak via a ticket that of which is much appreciated and we are thankful for the help as that help has in turn allowed us to identify our mishap, we widdled it down from the dates given and from the clips we have to the 30th where during a fight with ballas inside the casino 95% of clips you can hear the majority of the gang communicating via discord. We also in the time discussed ways of preventing this as pro-activeness is much better than promises very often we found ourselves in discord and trying to make sure we don't meta-game so hopefully with the new rules in place this worry will be no longer, the rule we've added into the gang discord will be shown below, You will probably also notice the proposal off a staff presences within the discord whom of which has access to the voice channels to further monitor how the rule is being enforced we understand we shouldn't have to be monitored to follow simple rules but the presence of staff just being there will hopefully further help in prevention we hope this is something that can be discussed between staff and leads of the gang. (This was typed out as a group during our calls and will be placed in the unban appeals of those appealing and will leave all members to "dispute" there involvement)
Why should we unban you: I believe i should be unbanned because i have never had a meta gaming ban before and have rarely ever been banned and committed little to no rule breaks since playing the server. If my character Ravie Davie continues with the chippieone family there has been an agreement ( which can be seen in kieffers appeal) that we would be willing to have staff monitor the calls in effort to try and regain the trust.

I take responsibility for the ban and am fully aware as to why it has resulted in this extended period of time off the server, there's no denying we do 90% of the time sit in a discord call with friends (not a chippieone server just a personal call) but that is due to the fact that not all of them play the server and when an RP scenario occurs we go on defend and give high quality RP.

During my time off the server i have made attempt to continue playing roleplay however its came to my realisation that this is the most enjoyable server ive played, hence why i am again trying to appeal the ban

Ultimately there is no one to point the finger at, we have made the mistake and have now had to deal with the consequences that have followed with the rule break.

To be honest, this doesn't really play much into the appeal.
You've been in this community long enough to know how much metagaming can ruin roleplay for others around you, and actively took part in it still.

If you had downed someone for example, alone, and their friend then comes out of absolutely nowhere metagaming to down you there would likely be a report up within a matter of minutes.
I'm unsure as to why you'd actively take part in this rulebreak?

I appreciate the offer of staff monitoring calls however this shouldn't need to happen moving forward, or at all.

I under stand that saying that ive been a member for a long time isnt going to effect the appeal massively, however i think it is clear that i play the server with good, true intentions and i am not playing to try disrupt the roleplay of other players. As i have previously stated it was a stupid mistake as i know both why the rule is in place and also the consequences that come with breaking the rules, and ultimately made the foolish mistake of breaking the rule.

The offer of letting staff monitor the gangs discord shouldn't have to be put in place, however it is an attempt from myself and everyone in the gang to try and regain the trust that we have lost

I would argue against this given the reason for your ban. Your actions have disrupted the roleplay for others around you due to the fact you ended up gaining an advantage over them all through external sources.
This is a serious roleplaying server at the end of the day, players here are to provide high quality roleplay and have fun. I do not see any fun in treating it like Warzone and using Discord for communication.
I do agree, that leading up to this you did indeed play with good intentions and didn't disrupt the roleplay of others, however this has overturned that.

As i have previously stated it was a stupid mistake as i know both why the rule is in place and also the consequences that come with breaking the rules, and ultimately made the foolish mistake of breaking the rule.

If you know why the rule is in place, and the consequences... Why would you breach it?

To be completely honest it was a lapse in judgement and looking back on the situation i am well aware as to how it affected the course of the roleplay on the server, just like someone exploiting. For the most part id like to say i have had excellent roleplaying experiences on the server and have given others good roleplay with my character, and made a stupid mistake that i am facing the consequences for and i can reassure that the rule wouldn't be broke ever again and to ensure that the statement can be trusted we have allowed staff the option to monitor calls and made effort to ensure we can be trusted.

I am aware that the server is a serious roleplaying server hence why ive kept a near clean record throughout the 3 years and also had the best roleplaying scenarios while on the server. All i can say is that i apologies for the rule break and try to make you give me a second chance so i can prove that i play the server with real intentions

Why in your first 2 appeals did you tell us that you've got no idea why you're banned out of curiosity?
Were you hoping we'd give you the reason so that you didn't accidentally cross reference an entirely different time you've metagamed?

I'm pretty sure you knew why you were/are banned from the beginning.

Hi there, in my first 2 appeals I was not sure of why I was banned due to the fact at the time the ban was issued when I hadn’t been on the server lately due to being busy with work and then uni starting back, no one was positive as to why we had got banned. After the second appeal got denied I decided to try and make an effort as to identifying the reason I was banned and that’s when one shot and isak narrowed the dates down and we were able to pin point a day when all of the members of the gang were on together.

There hasn’t been another time where I’ve metagamed or i woudnt be here writing an appeal to try and come back to the server

As I’ve stated already I play the server to give high quality roleplay and to enhance the experience of others and myself

Are you still planning to play the same characters, play in a gang, join a faction?

Hi yet again thank you for the quick response

If given another chance i would continue to play kye dolan and hope to return back to grove and join back the gang and continue to work to obtain a higher rank within the ranking system within the gang. With my other character however the action that he is going to take is still undecided as i didn't play that character frequently and i am not entirely sure as to how many members of the gang there is left and the steps the gang will take forward wither it be to continue as the chippieone family or change to another name, if my character decides to continue to with the chippieone family i will continue to serve as a gang highup and try to make the chippieone family bigger.

Do you think going back into the same kind of roleplay wouldn't tempt you at all to continue metagaming with friends assuming you'd get away with it?

Why has it now taken you 4 declined appeals to actually put effort in and take accountability for your actions resulting in a ban?

Hi @Danoo i appreciate the response

I can personally say I woudnt ge tempted at all to meta game again as the time I have spent off the server has made me come to the realisation that it just wasn’t worth doing in the first place and that the consequences are way worse than the benefits from mega gaming.

It has taken 4 appeals to put effort in as at first I was genuinely unsure as to why I was banned because as I’ve previously mentioned I hadn’t been on the server due to external factors. At first I was annoyed and then realised that to resolve the issue I had to make more of an effort hence why contact was made to staff to try and help me and the gang as a whole to understand when the ban occurred

This does appear to be your first permanent ban, and I have decided after reading through the appeal once more with another staff member than I'm going to give you one more chance on the server to prove you're actually here to roleplay and have fun rather than attempting to gain an advantage over other players via breaking rules.

I do hope you're not going to waste the chance and end up back on the appeal section as the likelihood of us entertaining another one anytime soon is very slim.
Any bans you receive within the next 6 months will be a permanent as per the FBS.
