Why do you think you were banned: We spent a few days as a gang discussing after some help from Charles and Isak via a ticket that of which is much appreciated and we are thankful for the help as that help has in turn allowed us to identify our mishap, we widdled it down from the dates given and from the clips we have to the 30th where during a fight with ballas inside the casino 95% of clips you can hear the majority of the gang communicating via discord. We also in the time discussed ways of preventing this as pro-activeness is much better than promises very often we found ourselves in discord and trying to make sure we don't meta-game so hopefully with the new rules in place this worry will be no longer, the rule we've added into the gang discord will be shown below, You will probably also notice the proposal off a staff presences within the discord whom of which has access to the voice channels to further monitor how the rule is being enforced we understand we shouldn't have to be monitored to follow simple rules but the presence of staff just being there will hopefully further help in prevention we hope this is something that can be discussed between staff and leads of the gang. (This was typed out as a group during our calls and will be placed in the unban appeals of those appealing and will leave all members to "dispute" there involvement)

Why should we unban you: I firstly want to start by saying I take full responsibility for the actions of myself and my members as at the end of the day being the leader its in the word I lead others, now most of them probably did know better but at the end of the day I set the example if I I'm seen doing it having been here much longer than the majority of the members then it doesn't set a good example for them to follow I want to make it clear here as I already have to them. I do believe I can set a good example my character Kieffer has just about always been high up in a "baldy" gang as I fairly enjoy bringing in newer players and showing them the ropes and what the server has to offer, this slip up doesn't reflect well on that but I do believe the good out-weighs the bad when it comes to setting an example as leader,

I'm also going to link this from last appeal to further help staffs understanding of why we used discord, it wasn't with an intention to meta-game.

"I'm going to start by giving a bit of context to how this could've possible occurred, a good few of us chippieones are pals IRL we didn't just meet within RPUK and most games like this we just play together, meaning when were gaming although there is a chippieones discord were rarely in it due to this. There's 9 or so of us in our personal discord and not everyone plays RPUK maybe due to being banned or just having no interest in FiveM so when just chilling on the game most of us are of deafened speaking with people who are our pals. Usually in the case we end up in an RP scenario often something that happens randomly we will go on deafened and finish that scenario sometimes someone will say something in discord as that's natural instinct and someone will just say to radio it in or send it in groupie so that it isn't just coming straight from discord, clearly on this occasion for whatever reason this didn't happen and maybe if we can be made aware of the exact scenario we can provide further context but I thought id just include this to help get a better understanding of how this could've occurred."

When it comes to the ban itself we were the masters of our own downfall with it, we had toyed on the line with the marabunta situation where a few bans got over turned and at the time Stuart recommended leaving out the discord calls as there was almost an inevitability of what happened happening and we chose not to listen as we thought we could have the best of both worlds in terms of calls and no slip ups when in reality we were setting up for failure. As mentioned above the new rule in place within the gang discord if enforced properly will eliminate any way of that happening, Yes its to late it shouldn't take a ban for a reaction but unfortunately it has for us,

I cant full speak for others but this is something myself and others don't go out of our way to do 99% of the time wed go on defeand during a situation no one went into those calls with an intention of meta-gaming and I for one certainly didn't look to meta-game as it completely takes away from being immersed in the game the unexpectedness and the developing of story lines would be instantly tarnished if meta-gaming was an often occurrence. You can rely on my word that this will be just a slip up when it comes to meta-gaming Ive never been banned for it previously and I don't plan on having it placed upon me again.

This is where my appeal will probably be a bit different to the rest of the appealing this ban, as stated in my last appeal by OneShot I have had 8 bans and 4 warnings, I did message OneShot on a sort of timeframe to appealing and he said anytime but we cant guarantee we will be ready to have you back. So before I appealed I made sure of 2 things ive got to 1. believe I myself am ready to return and 2. show/convince staff I'm ready to return. 8 bans is well absolutely dire so I decided to go back and look at what caused these bans see if there was a pattern or a reoccurrence now I can only look back at my permanents the first of these being a combat log ban in September 2021, then in December of 2021 a ban for transferring cash between characters, then in March of 2022 a ban for min/maxing in the casino, fast forward to June of 2023 trolling with the broken megaphones which then brings me to the last being this ban in July 2024. I thought about all these bans and the one thing that stuck out to me was bad decision making not necessarily a poor quality of roleplay as none of these permanents outside of maybe combat logging show I display a poor quality of roleplay. Then I had to link why the bad decision making and I brought it down to "boredom" far to often id play very long sessions even when there was nothing to do instead of logging out id look for something to do stretch out how much I was playing leading me to making these rash decisions for my own enjoyment and maybe not valuing others.

That leads me nicely onto a solution for that. One the easy way if I'm bored not much is happening just log out its as simple as that and I plan on doing it much more if allowed back, another thing I plan on doing if able to return is first of all get rid of Kieffer as you'd probably have seen in the rules ss and make a new character for gang orientated roleplay I already have a plan for this character that hopefully involves getting in with a gang that I don't really speak with much IC or OOC hopefully giving me a more authentic experience, roleplaying with new people and working up through the hang-about stages. I also want to make a new character that is on the other end of the coin now undecided but I have in mind a character in which is a mechanic and maybe builds up to a stage of selling cars or having there own mechanic shop I would need to see where it all leads to and what I enjoy as it would be a completely new endeavour for me.

As touched on a lot of us are pals so that’s the original reason for us being in the discord. From there though this should still have been avoided, I think the main reasoning may be a couple people went down unexpectedly early during the fight and came off deafened before the majority had even made it on defeaned (this has also been touched on within gang as it may not have been made clear by myself to others that RP isn’t finished when down, again though shouldn’t be a worry if allowed back as I will ensure no one is using any form of discord while logged into the server unless that he QE or team speak) Then from there it had just slipped everyone’s minds, looking back it’s daft even having to say that it’s a simple rule but this is our learning curve on that, should it have to take punishment to learn? No, but it certainly has been an eye opener we’ve got a real good group there of which we all still regularly stay in contact and not playing the server has definitely had an impact on a lot of us due to it being an ever constant then gone just like that all on our own doing, so I’m hoping we can channel that into being more careful and honestly having a bit more common sense about us.

What steps have you taken personally to ensure you and your gang members won’t rely on Discord for in-game communication in the future?

Obviously the rule has been put in place within the discord to help as a collective on an individual level I’m taking a lot more responsibility in game and out of game , the first steps of that making sure my RP and general aura around the community is positive helping and working with those I maybe don’t even speak with in game and when in game ensuring I hold myself to the standard I expect to receive from everyone else, I feel in game I take a good amount of responsibility already but didn’t even really think of responsibilities out of game and how I conduct myself with my members and around the community as a whole and how that rubs of on other members. If able to return my responsibilities within gang will be more out of game as for a decent while if continuing I won’t have a senior position of Chippieones in game. Hopefully with these steps I can hold myself to a higher level as I said I enjoy interacting and developing new players but this instance has been a real eye opener to how many layers this has and also showing them the right things, taking them down the right path and not leading them into situations like this, or getting involved in any poor rp that then becomes a constant for them.

I’ve put it quite simply to all members if seen
Breaking the rules from any of the dedicated higher ups there’s absolutely zero tolerance, no pandering no second chances, no questions asked youll be removed from the gang and have vc permissions within the discord removed quite simply this is for the protection of other members and to keep fairness overall within the entire gang scene. Also additionally I am happy to arrange staff prescene in the discord I know staff have a lot on there plate and pandering like this shouldn’t have to be added as a side dish but it in my eyes just adds that extra layer of guarantee and allows for that extra level of trust.

There will have to be two stages in game and ooc it’ll start with removing of access to discord then in game will be played by ear and done in a high quality way happy to leave them access to text channels so long as they keep the peace, it may seem harsh but in my eyes anyone doing it from now would be daft as they’ve been punished once and from a staff pov it’s ZERO tolerance so I will be adapting the ZERO tolerance approach also.

My wrap sheet is really poor and I can admit that as I have no real choice it’s there for all to see far to many bans, but this one feels different in a sense with the response to my last appeal I didn’t know if I was going to get a chance again and that wasn’t a great feeling I would dread to have to leave the server due to a ban or something I’ve done wrong eventually it’ll come to a stage that I’ll move on but I want it to be on my own terms but for now I feel I still have so much to give the server and feel I’d be letting myself down and others if my wrapsheet continues to grow, hopefully with my personal changes and changes to my RP the freshness will bring out the best in what I can offer. As I’ve also stated previously I’m a HUGE believer in everything I do that actions speak much much louder than words so I’m hoping I can get a chance to let my actions do the talking. I also would feel responsibility if unbanned for yourself or whomever unbans me to not let down there choice of allowing me back.
