Reason given for your ban: (G3.1) OOC Information - Using out of character information to influence the course of roleplay is considered metagaming and punishable by a ban. This includes but is not limited to: Twitch Streams, forum information and Steam messages.
In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I have been banned for metagaming, I have explained below the reason I feel that I have been banned.
Why should we unban you ?: I will be honest this ban has come as a little bit of a shock for me as the situation I believe I was banned for was done through RP means and nothing to do with any OOC information at all.
I will run through the situation and explain the reason that I feel there has been no OOC information used in anyway during my time on the server, or during that specific situation that I think I potentially have been banned for.
I was in a fight with the police and was downed during this and was taken to pillbox, I was in the fight with a few other people. Whilst in Pillbox the police turned up and caused the other people to flea the scene that were present in the orginal fight. Once I was revived from the hospital I recieved radio communication that I should head to the sewers behind pillbox and used the secret tunnel entrance. Once I had situated myself in the sewers I sent a GPS location to "bart" and asked for a lift, however was instead picked up by "Jake" as he was close by and already in the sewers, I informed bart on the radio that I already had a lift from Jake.
Bart then headed back up to hustler turf, got changed and swapped out the car that he was using, whilst he was doing this myself and Jake blew up in the sewers and lead to both of us going down.
After losing radio contact and myself nor Jake responding on the radio, bart tried ringing us and again no answer on the phone, he headed to the location I was collected from by Jake, As I had sent Bart the GPS for a lift previously, however Jake collected me instead. This to me makes perfect sense in RP, if you lose radio contact and have not had any of the calls returned, to search for the people that you were just with. Heading to the last known place that myself and Jake were present, and searching the surrounding areas first. Which lead him to find myself and jake downed on the floor.
On the way to the sewers Bart also stated that he had spoken to police driving the MRAP, and asked if either myself or Jake had been arrested in which they informed him that we had not, and again gave him even more reason in RP to come and search for us, along with the lack of replies or answers to any attempt that he had made to reach out to us.
I fully understand the implications of metagaming and the nessecity for it to be policed by a permanent ban, as metagaming has the chance to ruin massive roleplay scenarios and the longevity of certain situations, it can also ruin peoples time on the server completely as it can give unfair advantages to the person that is Metagaming.
Understanding this whilst I am roleplaying my character Paul Bundy, knowing that nothing paul loses or gains is real and is a part of RP is another reason that I myself would never do something like this intentionally, and why I feel this situation from an outside perspective has been viewed in a way that might have appeared as metagaming, I am writing this appeal to explain my side of things.
Something that I was not given chance to do when banned, understandably the rules are for all to follow and no exceptions to be made, which is why I am explaining this through an unban appeal.
I also want to explain that I do understand the reason behind the ban and why this rule is crucial in ensuring that RP remains high quality and that no one gains an unfair advantage whilst playing RPUK, I also want to say that my record is clean and have never been banned before, whilst yes I have recieved a few warnings these have been taken in to consideration following them, and ensuring that I do not follow the same mistakes again.
My time on the server has been fun and have met lots of new people and made new friends throughout my time in RPUK and is something that I wish to continue, as I find progessing my character through the RP means available to me enjoyable, and I also feel intrinsically rewarded when providing good RP to other parties and seeing them have a good time on the server aswell.
I have been honest throughout this appeal, however if there is something that I have missed out or require questioning so to speak, please do let me know and I will do my best to answer the questions, I have made this appeal as I feel that the situation I was invovled in has been percieved incorrectly, however if there has been mistakes made then again this is something I am willing to learn from and improve on in the future.
