Server: GTA RP
Character Name: Jim Daniels
Steam ID: 76561199013292392
Ban ID (just the numbers): 123456789
Ban Reason: C1.6
Why do you think you were banned: Firstly I was unable to aquire a "Ban ID" whilst also being banned from the rpuk discord hence making it impossible for me to connect and recieve the appropriate code.
The character Jim Daniels A.K.A Whiskey was firstly Character locked after being deemed a risk to The Occult and Community after a discussion via a ticket. The ticket revolves around OOC information and risk of metagaming. This all escalated from a OOC quarrel in The Occult discord which progressed to both parties throwing each other under the bus evidently.
After the character being locked. I believe IC RP carried on as you would expect, unfortunately The Occult looked as though they took advantage of the situation and started to kill off (now) ex-members. The members who felt they were at risk took the opportunity to defend and/or take revenge before it was too late.
For whatever reason despite my thorough communication with staff you felt that I was the catalyst behind their motives of “revenge”. Again as said in the ticket, “Although I acted as "Cult Leader" these people don't follow me religiously and act on my every word.” I did not encourage any ideas these individuals had. I just left them to their own devices.
Due to your reasons for believing I had taken control of members and controlled their every action I was issued a 1.6 ban.
Furthermore, I distance myself from the drama of RPUK and yet it still finds me. Finding myself to be the “scapegoat” , the “excuse” and/or the underlying reason of any problem that stands against The Occult.
I do hope you’ve done as I asked and reached out to others for more insight into the situation that led to this, if not I’m not upset, just disappointed.
Why should we unban you: I believe I led as an example for good RP for the large majority of my time in RPUK keeping a clean record as my time leading The Occult. I admit I started losing interest towards my end which is why I choose to leave The Occult (amongst other reasons).
Part of me is already expecting this appeal to be immediately denied seeing as I’ve been portrayed as the “voldemort” of RPUK where people fear to even use my name without catching a ban.
Alas, without trying I would never get an answer. The only thing I can find I did truly wrong was getting angry.
Despite the numerous opposing views against me I feel you should unban me because I’ve not had any notion to lie. I know you’ve been sent screenshots about me but I dare that you’ve also been sent screenshots about them in this tit for tat. Everything above escalated from a Private Discord, I understand why you didn’t want this to carry over to RPUK and I agreed to those terms, I accepted the fact you locked Whiskey. I was prepared to start over when ready.
I’ve even come to terms in the rare event that you do accept my unban appeal that you could push the terms of deleting Whiskey or keeping him locked. It's just a character to which I’ve learnt money is easy when you provide quality RP.
If given the opportunity to play RPUK again I would want to likely start on a new character anyway and develop new story lines. I’ve tried to predict the typical question of what would you do with this character and that is a difficult answer but RP is organic and changes every week with who you’re surrounded by.
For example my character Jim Daniels was originally recruiting early into smaller “gangs” to when I then tried leading my own group and it failed originally. Then I was invited to Changaloas where I learnt a lot more from experienced people. Then I went back to leading again after having a lot of encouragement from multiple sources. I didn’t plan to do it, I didn’t create the character with set goals. But as RP developed I started to set goals for the character.
I would like to do something similar again and let RP naturally take course. See what happens, follow the direction and naturally adapt to the RP in front of me to make sure all parties have a enjoyable experience.
