Reason given for your ban: C2.3 Combat Logging

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was banned for logging off after I was shot. There was a situation on Ballas carwash between me and 2 friends and we were messing around punching each other when one of them shot me. I then proceeded to log off the server after I was shot.

Why should we unban you ?: As I said on my previous appeal, I would like to state my reasoning for quitting the server the way I did. It was getting late on the server and I did have work the next morning as I have stated above the situation was only involving myself and 2 of my good mates. I therefore then after being shot logged off thinking there was no harm in the situation and also seeing the humour in doing it with it being with friends. I do understand now from an outside POV that this does look like a clear rule break but I just wanted to state that if this was in any other situation involving other members of the community I would not have done what I did. For this I would like to apologise for doing this and I do know there are rules on the server for a reason and they are not meant to be broken just for my benefit. Looking back at it now I did not take advantage of other ways of dealing with the situation, I could have used OOC or opened a ticket to try and contact staff and explain my situation or I could have simply just been patient and dealt with it all in RP. For this, I would like to apologise and if I get the opportunity to be unbanned I can ensure that I will not act like this again.

Why did you get yourself into an RP situation when it was late? Furthermore, why didn't you open a simple ticket to let us know what was happening?

 
Hello Liam, thank you for your reply. At the time as I said I wasn’t seeing it as a serious RP scenario that’s why events preceded the way they did. In my mind I was just having a laugh with 2 friends not really thinking about what it looks like from an outside point of view. 

Regarding opening a ticket I admit I was stupid and made the wrong decision, there’s no excuse for me to just leave the server really. I remember after I got shot I just looked at the time and realised I had work in a few hours (Again, my fault for staying on so late) 
With me not really thinking that’s why I just abruptly left. As I stated when I first posted this appeal, if given the chance to return to RPUK I will make sure this would never happen again and I will follow the right steps if I am ever in a similar situation to this one.

You were having a laugh with some friends, and he decided to shoot you in which you disconnected less than a minute later. Did you think about the time for work, before or after he shot you? Because it looks to me as if you disconnected in a fit of rage..

 
I wouldn’t say I was in a fit of rage over being shot. I would say I was slightly annoyed by it but as I said we were only messing around so I had no real reason to be angry about it. I will admit I did only think about the time for work until after I was shot as I’ve previously said it was a mistake and clearly thinking now it was the wrong decision.

  • Quote the rule you broke
  • Explain it in your own words
  • Explain why its on the server

And also:

  • Explain what your steps are in future, if the same scenario takes place
 
The rule I broke is - (C2.3) Combat logging. This rule is implemented to stop people gaining an advantage in RP. E.g. A person is shot and to save whatever items they have in their inventory they quit until after the RP situation is over to attempt to save themselves from respawning and losing their items. This rule is on the server to make sure every RP scenario is fair for all parties involved and to also make sure the economy and the community of the server running.

In the future if the same situation is to happen again, I would make sure to either just wait it out patiently. If this is not possible I would do the following steps:

-Send a message in the OOC chat in case there’s any staff online who I can explain my situation to.

-Make a ticket and explain the situation to staff so I can have permission to log off early.
