Unban Appeal for gapz

Reason given for your ban: c2.3

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was banned for violating the "C2.2 Rule" combat logging. Quitting the server and not handling the situation correctly to reduce the effects of Roleplay.

Why should we unban you ?: I quit whilst incapacitated during a Roleplay situation.
I opened the ticket while I was disconnected from the server. At the time, I believed that this was the best course of action, but now I understand that I must inform everyone for neither party to be affected. Despite CFX being down, I could have simply informed the other party using my mobile. As soon as I was able to log back into the server, I respawned right away, believing that this was the proper course of action. By the way, I handled the incident and the lessons I've learned while being away and reviewing it, I hope you can tell that I didn't mean any harm. I appreciate RPUK and want to prove to you that I'm dedicated to playing by the rules.

Are you telling us what you think we want to hear, or are you being truthful? As you stuck to the story of "My cat did it!" numerous times before this appeal..

 
The Story with the Cat turning the pc off indeed happened and it a very hard way to prove if it did or not but at the same time it was my pc that turned of and I take full responsibility for what happened and I'll take the consequences that comes with this. Please understand that I'm telling the truth and I'm not lying this is after all a my only other ban was a long time ago and I've tried to keep my nose clean since time being banned on the server and i wish to be able to keep making great rp with everyone in the server. and even carry out the on going rp i was already in.

 
If a similar situation was the happen like the one that led to your ban, what would you do differently if unbanned?

Please also answer the below:

  • tell me why you think it is an important rule on the server and what impact it has on roleplay if broken.


 
If I encountered similar circumstances once more, I would follow the protocol of getting in touch with the other roleplayers and alerting staff via a ticket straight away. I would take this action to ensure that any negative impacts of roleplay would be minimised. This would eliminate the chance of it being assumed that I'm attempting to keep items or stay away from RP that might negatively impact my character.

"(C2.3) Combat logging - Logging out at any point during RP is exploiting. Some examples of this include: logging out during a firefight, being chased by the police, arrested by the police, while dead awaiting a medic, logging out in order to save gear, rage-quitting, logging out whilst restrained/detained. Punishment is a permanent ban. Staff can make an informed decision depending on if you’ve made an attempt to resolve the issue. We do suggest you attempt to rejoin the server and continue the roleplay (try messaging them with the mobile system first)." 

To me combat logging is to quit / to disconnect from the game or turn off your internet/pc during an active RP situation, this can vary from being downed in gunfights or police chases or even mid-police chase/whilst in cuffs or being arrested. This is exploiting and in my experience is usually done to either rage quit or to save items.

The "Combat Logging" rules must be in place to guarantee that everyone has an equal chance. People might avoid losing battles by just logging out if such rules weren't in place and be able to keep weapons/items etc when downed to be picked up at a later date, which would be senseless. The impact on the server would be massive as not only does it ruin RP but essentially would ruin the in-game economy too. The rules set in place give the server stability and structure which is why it's important to follow these rules.

Its not just after a gunfight, it is whilst you are downed at any time.

Now that you seem to fully understand the rule, can you tell me have you ever combat logged before?

Yes sorry i did mean to add that part, but i do understand the rule fully.
To be completely honest with you siren i dont know if i have or not during my entire time here, when i was brand new to the server i possibly could have, but over the coming months of constantly playing i know this rule is not to be broken and is something i will not do to ruin my chances playing on the server again

As per the FBS any bans within the next 6 months will lead you straight back to a permanent ban in which you will have to appeal.
