Unban Appeal for Ellessexo

Reason given for your ban: combat logging

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was RDM'd as I was on a motorbike and when I died the guy put me in his car and started driving off to dump me. It was my second day on the game and I'm still fairly new to the rules and getting my way around. I panicked when he put me in his car, I wasn't aware of the rule that you weren't allowed to logout when you die.

Why should we unban you ?: I've disputed my ban three times now, the second time, it got denied and removed off the forums. The last message I received was that I needed to put in more effort into my appeal to be unbanned, and I had to wait another week or so to appeal, when the last time they told me I could appeal was on the 11th of September. Then changed it to the 18th. This is my "better effort" appeal.
I was in the city for 2-3 days before getting deported. I was obviously still VERY new to the RP world, it was my first time joining any type of RP city. What I find odd is that you staff made me wait a month to appeal (which I did), and on top of that, I got told to wait another week by one staff member and the other staff told me to put in more effort. You staff won't unban me for making a silly mistake, which I owned up to every time I appealed, but I've seen people get unbanned for the same mistake I've made, and worse.
I've patiently waited out this whole month to make an appeal. I understand what I did wasn't the smartest, or the best choice, but I truly have learnt from it and it won't happen again. I have been on roleplay.co.uk and read over and over the rules of the city and I know what I need to do when put in these scenarios. You guys have my word that this mistake won't happen from me again. I understand that combat logging is a serious offence so it will most definitely not happen again. Once again, I'm sorry that this has happened.

Lets address the first part, "You staff won't unban me for making a silly mistake, which I owned up to every time I appealed, but I've seen people get unbanned for the same mistake I've made" Indeed you have broken a rule and you are also treated the same as everyone else who comes through the appeals process. Now indeed you was told the 11th then it changed to the 18th and that was a mistake on my part, It was the 18th since this is the day you was banned a month prior, However trying to justify how we handle appeals based on how other peoples appeals go isn't a good way to look at it. Combat logging bans come with a 1 month cooldown for all players.

Now lets move onto this ban, You've mentioned you believe you was RDMed, Now for this did you report said player, Did you make staff aware of this? In turn if you believe someone else breaks a rule does that allow you to break rules also? 

You've mentioned you have read the rules, Can you please quote the rule you have broken and explain in your own words why you believe we have such a rule in place?

 
I explained that I was new to the city, I had no clue about body cam footage, or how to get a players ID to report that I had been RDM'd. I didn't even have the time to speak to a staff member about what had happened because I was instantly deported, and that's when I wrote what had happened in my first appeal.

No, it definitely does not mean I should also break the rules when one has done it to me.

The rule I have broken is the "(C2.3) Combat logging - logging out at any point during RP is exploiting" rule. Once again, I popped my head while I was held hostage which is what caused me to get deported. I understand that this rule is a serious offence, and I understand why I got punished. 

I know that this rule is set into place because this is a RP city and you're supposed to comply with what the person holding you hostage says. You're supposed to do what you can to save your life - as if it was a situation in head.

So what was the reason for the combat logging? Was it due to you believing you was RVDMed or is there other reasons, I'm trying to get a better understanding of why this happened and how we would prevent this should we offer you the chance to return. Could you clarify this for us please?

Yes, that was the reason of the combat logging. So what happened was I was selling cocaine on a friend's motorcycle and the guy had come out of no where and rammed me off of the bike. He stabbed me and threw me in his car and told his friend he was going to dump me. I did get a little nervous which is why I had popped my head. I didn't have any bodycam footage because I didn't know what that was at the time otherwise I would've had it recorded, and I didn't know anything about combat logging. But I really have learnt from my mistake and I hope I get the chance to show you that I have! 

 
Are you aware how to inform us of someone breaking a rule? I'll also assume you are still unsure how to find player id's? 

Lets say you get RDMed down the line, How would you handle this ? 

 
Yes I am aware of how to inform you guys next time something like this happens. And yes I'm aware how to do it, and I've been told that I can set up keybinds for that.

Down the line if this happens again, I will make sure I get it on bodycam and get their player ID and make a ticket via discord or forums.

 
No problem! I'll give you another chance however please keep in mind our server rules moving forth. Take what has been said here serious and learn from this so we don't see a repeat happening down the line. Don't let me down and I hope not to see you return to this section moving forth.
