Reason given for your ban: G3.1 Hop On

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: So I was banned for ‘hop on’ which really isn’t the case at all. I logged off the server about 8:15pm to have some dinner, I knew beforehand that we’d most likely be pushing mara that night so I knew as soon as I finished my dinner I would of logged back on anyway. While a message was sent in the discord server, I didn’t actually see the message as like I said my initial thought was to log back in after I finished eating as I knew from before that we’d be fighting at some point that night. From what I recall, I logged back in maybe 15/20 minutes after that message was sent and my intention was to not hop on whatsoever.

Why should we unban you ?: I have been playing RPUK for 3 years now and I’ve never once been on this side of the forum. With that being said, I clearly respect the roleplay that goes into this server and enjoy the effort that goes into the roleplay which is why I’ve never had to do anything like this… it’s very upsetting that I’ve got myself into a situation like this especially when it’s never happened before.

My character Carlos has been trying to find a good place in the city where he can expand on roleplay opportunities hence why he joined the Alliance and since joining, there has been great roleplay situations and I do wish to continue that storyline with Carlos as it was only the beginning for my character.

I do just want to end this by apologising to staff and how this may of looked but you can trust me when I say, I did not hop on because of a discord message… it was simply because I was planning on logging back in after I finished eating.

In future, I’ll make sure a coincidence like this will never happen again as I do understand how it looks from a staff’s perspective and also from other players. I hate the fact that I’ve slightly broken trust with staff as RPUK is the only RP server I play on and like I said, have never broke a rule in the 3 years I’ve been here and I hate that my first one is a perm.

I hear a lot of "back later". Not once was a specific time stated by a single person throughout this.
Yet a bunch of you all log on within 20 minutes of eachother for this claimed mara push. If no time was communicated throughout any of you, why did you all log on within the same time frame?

We have a "Push Time" channel in our discord. where we communicate for the next day more so we know what times are good for everyone I believe a lot of groups do this to get themselves prepared and ready for anything that's upcoming

The time i logged in is around when the push time was which was 20:30 if I'm correct (These get cleared daily as not not clog the channel) I've attached an example of what it looks like from today for a meeting with Marabunta.

I didn't realise others had all hopped on around the same timeframe as I did. As said in my appeal, I just came on after I had finished eating and did not notice the initial hop on message... if I'm brutally honest I feel like it was bad timing and if I had known, I would of probably laid low for a bit to avoid this kind of situation from happening. I do completely understand how this looks from the message that was previously quoted, but it was in no way meant to break hop-on rules even if inadvertently have done.

Hope you had a good night, bear with me I've just woke up! The screenshot was from yesterday the "Push Time" channel gets wiped daily so that there's only ever the current day to react to so it doesn't get clogged and avoids confusion.

Everyone has claimed that the push was for 20:30 on this particular evening. 
Why did you then log on at 21:03, knowing full well that the push was pre planned for 20:30. Let us acknowledge that you've logged on right after the hop on announcement was made in discord by a fellow gang member.

Seems a little odd, no?

Yes the push was set for 20:30 on the day this occurred, I logged in at your time stated because I was busy eating my dinner at the time the push was meant to happen. I sit with my family when I eat my dinner and we normally watch a TV show from start to finish so this would have finished at 21:00. After this I came back to my PC and logged into the server.

once again I can understand how this looks from an outside perspective but it was not my intention to hop on or break any rules as shown by my perfect record of nearly 3 years on this server.

Good evening @Dooty!

All of the screenshots I've been sent regarding your push channel so far show push times for the hour.
Example: 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm, 10pm etc. 
I've not seen in any of these screenshots a 6:30pm, 7:30pm.

How comes, on this specific day that we don't have screenshots for the hours are suddenly no longer on the hour but displaying 30 minutes into the hour?

Thank for the reply.

The chat has been cleared as said so it’s hard to provide any evidence of this, I assume on that day we were going by 30 minutes to see precisely the numbers we’d have at that specific time as it was only the beginning for this Mara war and with it being such a small gang, it would of been easier to go by a 30 minute interval to see who would actually be about. I would think now with the Alliance expanding in members, it’d be better to go by the hour these days as there will be a lot more people about to push. 
It’s very annoying to not have any evidence of this as I didn’t think I’d end up in this situation so the screenshots provided are there to give you an idea of what the ‘push announcements’ are like but it is a lot easier to have the chat cleared to save any confusion.

Is it normal to have these votes on push times less than an hour before the times set?

From your screenshot alone it states MEETING W MARA, I understand the channel gets wiped but that seems off given when these circumstances come around you'd be expected to give evidence to support yourself. Does an admin of this discord have the logs from that evening?

Hope your well, as previously stated we had already been logged in for some time that day and all decided to take a break until later in the evening so this was just to gauge when most people would be logging back in to have a good group number. I was also later than the push time that was set due to spending time with family/eating dinner.

I've messaged the person who owns the discord to see if they have the logs but they currently aren't online so I will edit this reply once I have a response. With regards to that screenshot it wasn't from the day of the report it was just an example of what our push time channel looks like.

I would like to say thank you for all of the responses so far, I know bans such as these can be a rather long process as we need to gather the information we need.
As you may imagine from our side of things, the connection times along with the time a message for hop on was sent out by Sam hasn't exactly sat right and included you all in with a hop on ban for G3.1!

Please, keep this ban in mind for the future and try to be more careful if possible. Especially knowing that a message such as that was sent out around the rough time you've connected.
Furthermore, may I suggest that you begin keeping logs of your push-time channel in case you may need to defend against a report again. Without any evidence it looks awfully suspicious and surely you don't need to wipe said channel each day.

Due to the above, I will be lifting your ban tonight.
