Reason given for your ban: C2.3 Combat-Logging while downed
In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was banned for breaking Community Rule "(C2.3) Combat logging - Logging out at any point during RP is exploiting. Some examples of this include: logging out during a firefight, being chased by the police, arrested by the police, while dead awaiting a medic, logging out in order to save gear, rage-quitting, logging out whilst restrained/detained. Punishment is a permanent ban. Staff can make an informed decision depending on if you’ve made an attempt to resolve the issue. We do suggest you attempt to rejoin the server and continue the roleplay (try messaging them with the mobile system first)."
I was in a RP situation which involved me being shot and downed. I went on to make the mistake of logging out not long after being incapacitated, Instead of waiting for the respawn timer or a medic.
This rule is in place so people don’t abuse the ability to log out and preserve their gear, until such a time where a medic could revive them. It is there to prevent damage to RP storylines and to prevent players from maintaining an unfair advantage in future situations.
Why should we unban you ?: So firstly, I would like to point out, that I recognise I've made a mistake. I have waited 30 days to post this appeal, since on my first appeal, I was advised by staff that this was the earliest point, that this would be reviewed.
As outlined in the previous section of the appeal, I've looked over the rule that was broken, and this has given a better insight into its purpose.
I currently have 2 active characters on the server; Darryl McMullan which is my gang character I was playing when I was banned. And Theodore Dawson which is my Police character that has given me a brand new RP storyline to pursue and is a completely different person for me to work on.
Prior to my ban, I was an active player within the community. Investing many hours daily, and regularly playing through the night. I'd say that the level of roleplay that I provide is regularly delivered at a high standard, so that both myself and other people involved in situations, can thoroughly enjoy their time on the server. I understand that the rule I was banned for, contradicts this. However, I would like to point out that this is my first ban for such an act. I do my utmost to play within the servers rules and adhere to the high standards that I set myself.
If I am unbanned, I will strive to make sure that this idiotic behaviour isn't reproduced. And that going forward, all heated situations should be dealt with in a more mature manner. Whether that be just keeping myself in check about being hot headed in sensitive situations, or just discussing any potential rule breaks with the other parties involved in TS, so that there are no future issues.
