Altis Life

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
I was banned as I accidentally crashed my blue and white hummingbird into the side of a Blackfish which was landing at the laundry redzone.

I was flying my Hummingbird to Laundry to get in on the action and have some fun with PVP. While flying over to laundry where the incident occurred I was receiving a call on discord so I tabbed out of the game to accept the call. When I tabbed back into the game I had lost a fair amount of attitude and that a blackfish had appeared directly in front of me which wasn't there when I tabbed out.

I then tried to take evasive manoeuvres but I was travelling too fast and ended up ramming into the side of it exploding both my Heli and the blackfish. After the collision I immediately closed the game (rage quit) as due to the mistake I lost 600k worth in military gear and weapons as well as having no Heli until the next restart which I was pissed off about.

After taking a second to cool down I loaded back into arma where I changed my in game name to try and avoid the situation and carry on playing the game like normal. I know that was the wrong thing to do but I wasn't really thinking properly about it as if I recall this incident occurred around 01:00am GMT.

When I spawned back in and got picked up by an admin I talked with him about the situation and admitted that I was in the wrong and was willing to provide comp to anyone that may of lost gear. I didn't know who I killed during the incident as I rage quitted immediately.

I fully understand that the way I went about the aftermath of the incident was not handled correctly and that I should not have rage quitted out of impulse in the first place and for that I am truly sorry.

Why should we unban you ?
I am a long serving member of this community and have been around for a fair few years of the island. I regularly try and help new players where I can by helping them get set up and teach them how to do first runs etc. I understand that I have a ban history that has been spread out over my career on the server but I always learn from my mistakes and take them as experience in how I can better myself in the community.

I understand that the action taking against me was just for the incident but that I would be truly saddened if I was not able to return back to the island in the future.

Thank you for your time.

Why did you changed your name before disconnecting?
if this all happen due a game crash, I would reconnect. And search contact with the other person or staff team.

I think I stated in the above text I panicked and changed my name in order to try and get around it which I full admit to, as I thought it was just a minor accident and I didn't want any trouble. I know this is wrong and it was a mistake on my behalf. I talked to an admin about it when he picked me up after I logged back on and he confirmed that it was a stupid thing to do. I spoke to him about giving comp but I got deported shortly after. As I rage quitted in frustration so quickly after the accident I didn't see the guys name but im sure I could find him either on this thread or back in game. I made a mistake and fully admit to it, I just finished a long day at work and it was currently 1am and I wasn't thinking straight. I will learn from this experience that the way I handled the situation was detrimental to both parties involved and that it should have been handled differently on my end.

@Colin Forester Looking at your previous ban record, I believe that you have never felt our rules apply to you

The last one with the dishonest name changing was the end of the road for you.
