Unban Appeal for Chris Aldworth
In-game Name: Chris Aldworth
Server: GTA RP
Steam ID: 76561198092287280
Ban ID: !!rpuk9273!!
Reason given for your ban: Combat Logging
In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I believe i was banned for what is considered combat logging (C2.3) on the rules of play.
I logged out after being killed and dumped by a group of people. I waited until the roleplay was over, and we were officially dumped and they had left.
I didn't think this was an issue, as i was dead, and the people who dumped me had left and felt the roleplay was over and when i would return, i would be dead again, in the exact same location and then complete the death scenario.
Why should we unban you ?: I didn't really think it was against the rules, as i roleplayed the scenario, allowed it to develop and eventually and unfortunately being dumped in the water and felt it was a victimless crime and logged out as i needed to leave asap, in fact i was actually driving to a location to logout when the altercation happened by a group crashing into my car repeatedly.
However, After having a read through the rules it was blatant i had broke the rules and combat logged to which i felt bad as i considered how i had affected roleplay/
At the end of the day, there are multiple roleplaying characters and being dumped in the water was not the end of the scenario as i have potentially ruined or remove the opportunity for NHS or police to retrieve my dumped body, and perform life saving care.
Although i felt i wasn't doing anything wrong, and was not acting maliciously, it has caused the potential to affect gameplay for others and that is absolutely valid and deserves action.
I am glad i was banned as i did not even realise my action as this is something i have done before if i was dumped and roleplay ENDED and needed to leave very late at night.
Also, it technically means i could be revived on next time i join the server and remember the scenario, although this was absolutely never the plan and i wo Alauld always flat line, it is still a potential and a bullshit one too.
Again, simply saying i would flatline the next time i log on is also bullshit, because that again ruins roleplay opportunities for NHS and Police etc.
I have been away for a month and have read the rules and would follow them completely.
I think people, admin and all, can sometimes get a bit lazy or forgetful of certain rules. I am an obvious example. However, Rules are there for a reason and it maintains the highest of roleplay for all.
I would therefore never log out during a roleplay scenario irrelevant if i think it is over or not because i am dumped and they have left.
I would like to let you know that i have never officially 'combat logged' and recently had a scenario with an officer who arrested me. His head popped, and so i waited, but game went a bit weird, like when you're about to be kicked from server, so i did a restart so we joined back at same time, and when i got to character selection, i chose my wrong guy by accident and had to log out and restart fivem and join again, and the officer was waiting so i approached said officer and i knelt down and waited to be arrested.
Other times i would simply contact them in OOC and ask for the roleplay to resume, sometimes they simply say not to worry and thanks for coming back.
Anyway, i think i've rambled on.
Hope to join soon, if not then it's all good and appreciate your time.
