Unban Appeal for Ch4MboO_

Reason given for your ban: C2.2 G2.9

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I think I was banned because I created new characters and traded money to the friends I play with at the time of doing it I was unsure about it but I was told by one of my friends who was told by a player on the server that it was fine and it happens all the time. I shouldn't have been naive and checked the rules and forums first but I believed him because he told me how much experience he had on the server.

Why should we unban you ?: I believe I should be unbanned because I genuinely didn't realise how serious the offence was and I am truly sorry. I enjoyed the server and the whole experience so much. I invested a lot time into my RP even though only playing for about 4 weeks I had over 3 days played time on that one character.

Is it common for you to do things others tell you are fine to do, Given you have said you was unsure about it ? 

What was the goal in your and your friends transferring the money, What was you looking to gain?

In relation to the rules, You mentioned you should of checked them, Why didn't you do this prior to playing when given the prompt to do so? 

 
Well yes, if someone with experience or a senor role told you to do something I.e. Given an instruction by your Boss or a Parent would you question it? Or would you just do it? I personally would hope their experience and knowledge would guide me to the right answer/outcome.

The Goal was to Buy a house as we had spent hours in game looking for available ones and had never come across one up until that point, and when we did we was short on the funds needed to purchase it. We was all worried that we had a small window of opportunity to purchase it. Fraud is a part of life so is this not RP?

I was wrong not to check them and I can't argue with that, all I will say is how many people read T&C's on products before purchases or use them? I think 95% of the world would be guilty of this. This doesn't justify my actions which were wrong and I profusely apologise I'm just stating majority of people don't read these things before use.

I have been naïve and have seen the error in my ways. My reasons for this reply are not be argumentative but to merely point out we all make mistakes and don't always realise at the time the rules and stipulations we sign up to, but in life we learn from these and make ourselves better the second time around if we are afforded that opportunity. 

 
Well that's slightly moving the goal post in a sense given this is a community and we do have a ruleset all members are expected to follow (Staff included). If I read within the rules would I then go ahead and break such a rule knowing the outcome? 

As mentioned on the character creation screen you do need to check the box stating you have read the server rules so whilst yes you are knew the information was never hidden and always publicly available to everyone. As mentioned you we're indeed wrong not to check them given where you have ended up as a result in not reading them.

Your comment "Fraud is a part of life so is this not RP" Indeed it is part of life and for example you can realistically do this in character, However in relation to the rules and the ones you've broken your own characters will never meet each other, Thus meaning you cannot commit said crime on yourself since you are unaware that is even a player. Now you mentioned this isn't RP in relation to the crime, Indeed the crime isn't however factored in with this is a Roleplay community then common sense applies. 

It's understandable we all make mistakes indeed, However if you do end up in the appeals section it's down to yourself to prove to us these mistakes won't happen again and to show us your intentions of being here within RPUK. So what are they moving forth? What are your goals for your character? If you are stuck for cash or wanted something there and then how would you gain money to do so?

I mentioned I didn't read the rules so I was obviously not fully aware of what was for or against said rules, I didn't trade money to my own characters so your comments about "your own characters will never meet each other, Thus meaning you cannot commit said crime on yourself since you are unaware that is even a player" Is totally irrelevant. And to address your final paragraph I have apologised already and I have seen many people on multiple bans get overturned but this is only my first and hopefully my last ban. Knowing the error of my ways I would have to RP to gain money or work a job to gain the necessary funds needed.

 
You've mentioned that part of what I mentioned above was irrelevant, However this isn't the case. Reason I added that was due to how you gained money and in turn breaking the rules you are currently banned for. You mentioned Fraud is part of real life hence outlining how this cannot be done with your own characters as you have no way to meet your own characters, Thus in turn making that point you made nil. 

Now you indeed have admitted to not reading the rules however in your main post you do acknowledge you should of read them, So why didn't you?

On top of this can you please quote the rules you broke and explain in your own words why we have such rules in place?

 
You've obviously not fully understood my reply as I didn't send money to my own characters as I believe this not to be viable because I would have to be online on both characters to trade because you need a player I.D to send money via bank transfer? And your statement about having to meet my own characters to commit fraud is nonsensical, people commit fraud all over the world across continent and country line without ever meeting their victim, and I revert back to what I said above as I didn't transfer the money to my own character the fraud would have been committed on another player.

(G2.9) Transferring money or items between your own characters is not allowed by any method.

(C2.2) Exploiting - Using or attempting to use any exploits in any of our community game servers such as but not limited to duplication of items or money, transferring/processing items through walls and windows or bypassing intended animations. Punishment is a permanent ban without appeal. If you discover an exploit that nobody else knows about, please reveal it to a staff member privately in order to ensure that it does not get abused in the future.

You will have these rules in place to ensure you have fair environment to play GTA RP where no one person would gain an unfair advantage compared to other players.

 
I understood fully what you ment however you sent money to your friend and in turn they did the same to give you the same amount you transferred, However this still falls under the same rule. In relation to fraud indeed people don't meet their victim however one thing you are still failing to see whilst yes we do our best to emulate real life as much as possible it's still a game that has rules in place, So in the context I am mentioning this you would never meet your own characters. 

If allowed to return, What are your plans within the community? 

 
My plans would first include me trying to get back to where I was before I was banned so I would have to work as a mechanic to grind money and possibly sell narcotics on the side to make enough to buy myself a motorbike, car and house again.

In relation to bans of this nature there are a few things that happen. Since you have four characters three of the four will be deleted, Now you have mentioned your Flynn character in your main appeal, I assume you would like to keep this character? If not please provide the name of the one you wish to keep.

In relation to the character you wish to keep a full wipe will be done on the character, Meaning all money, Inventory, Vehicles, Properties ect will be removed, So you will only keep the RP memories and indeed things in your phone. Do you agree to these terms?

 
No problem! I've gone ahead and requested a full wipe on Flynn and deletion of your other characters, Please note this may take some time to be completed however once done we will update you and move forward with the appeal.

@Ch4MboO_As mentioned above the wipe and deletion of other characters has now been completed. I would take on board everything we have talked about here serious and on board moving forth and the last thing we would want to see if you return to this section of the forums moving forth, So I do hope you don't let me down with this opportunity being provided. 

If you haven't already be sure you are upto date with the GTA and Community rules prior to rejoining the server. In relation to the ban as a whole you will now fall under the fair bans system for the 6 month period meaning any ban you receive within this time will result in another permanent ban. I hope your time within the appeals section thus far is a deterrent from breaking any more rules. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
